"And then, she told me I should get blue streaks in my hair," Macie continued.
"Mhhmm..." I said distractedly.
"Aaron! You aren't even listening to me," Macie pouted.
"I'm sorry. I was thinking about something else," I said.
Macie and I were hanging out together after our classes were over. She was telling me stories after stories, but I couldn't pay attention to any of them.
"Are you thinking about Bella? I was okay before, but now I'm starting to get jealous," she narrowed her eyes.
"It's just that...I don't get it. Why is she so obsessed with me? Before, I thought it was just a stupid high school crush that will go away after a while. Especially since she moved away, but it seems that she is still hung up on me!" I said frustratedly.
"What's not to like? You are smart, handsome, and sexy," Macie said.
I smirked. "Oh yes baby, stroke my ego some more," I said.
"You are stupid," Macie giggled.
"In all seriousness, I need to do something about this," I said.
"Yeah, right. I bet you will miss the home-cooked meals that she personally delivers to you every morning," Macie pointed it out.
Sure. Maybe I will. But I've been enabling her behavior by letting her feed me. I need to put a stop to it.
The next morning I started to walk to class as soon as I arrived on campus.
"Aaron, Aaron, wait for me!"
I sped up as soon as I heard her voice. Nope...I've decided I'm going to be ignoring her today.
"Aaron, wait!" she continued to call for me, but I didn't turn. I practically ran inside the class and released a sigh of relief as she didn't follow me inside.
I got out of class, and there she was, standing in front of me. What the fuck? Did she not leave at all? The class was out earlier than usual, so there was no way she anticipated that and got here on time. Has she been waiting outside this whole time? This chick is more insane than I thought. I suddenly felt angry.
"Hey Aaron, I just wanted to..."
"WHAT!" I yelled. She flinched and backed away a little. Some students walking by looked at us curiously. "You wanted to what? Why are you following me?" I asked.
"I wanted to give you this," she held out a lunch box. "You left so quickly this morning, so I couldn't..."
"Enough with the lunch!" I cried. "I'm sick and tired of you following me around like a puppy. You've been nothing but a nuisance since the day we met." I said cruelly and gripped her shoulder. She was startled and dropped the food on the floor, spilling it everywhere. Her blue eyes turned wide.
"I...I...just..." she stammered.
"No...I don't wanna fucking hear it," I sneered. "This ends here. I'm sick of this. And I am sick of YOU," I declared.
Tears welled up in her eyes. "Why are you so cruel?" she asked meekly.
"Didn't you hear a thing I said? Let me spell it out for you. I. Don't. Like. You. I never did, and I never will. You are a goddamn stalker. An annoying brat. You got stuck on me like a parasite, and I want to get rid of you. Starting today, I never want to see you again. You got that?" I said with gritted teeth.
"Aaron, please don't say that," she started to sob. I felt my heart twitch. I blurted all of it out without thinking. I didn't mean half the things I just said, but I was tired of her stalking me, so I stood my ground.
"Just fuck off and go stalk someone else," I said.
She didn't say anything for a moment and just stood there with tears streaming down her cheeks. She looked up and wiped her tears. "Okay," she whispered.
"Okay?" I looked at her for confirmation.
"I will leave you alone. I won't follow you around anymore, and I won't bring you any food. You won't have to worry about me bothering you again," she said.
"Good," I said. I was getting what I wanted, but I suddenly felt uneasy. My heart started pounding.
"Bye," she said quietly and left.
This is it. I won't have to worry about her anymore. I should be relieved, but why does my heart feel weird?
I guess my harsh treatment got through to her. She stopped bothering me. I didn't see her every morning, running to my car with food in her hands. Nor did she hang around me on campus and stared at me longingly. I finally got rid of her.I saw her walking to her class a few times. She looked away when our eyes met and kept walking."I guess she finally got the hint, huh?" Macie said. We were sitting in the cafe after class.
Author's note: Hey, guys. As you can see, this story is written mostly in Aaron's POV. However, it's important to know Bella's perspective, so I will sneak her POV once in a while. There won't be too many, only when it's necessary.Bella's POV.When I first saw Aaron Morris, I was in shock. It was like seeing a ghost. It was
"I'm not sulking," I declared."You are definitely sulking," Macie said. "guys?" she turned to Jake and Jane."He is sulking," they said at the same time.
I went back to my car with a heavy heart. She said no. Bella Davis was actually rejecting me! The same girl who had been crazy about me. Who shoved all those love letters in my hands. Did my words affect her this much?I should just forget about her. This was a blessing. She was gone.No...
I dragged her inside an empty room and slammed the door shut."Aaron! What...""Why are you doing this?" I demanded to know."Doing what?" she asked. Her eyes were big with surprise.
Bella's POV.He used to say my freckles were like sprinkles of sunshine, and I shouldn't be self-conscious about them. So I wasn't. I took everything he told me to my heart. He was my biggest supporter. My best friend.Elijah.
I didn't have any plans today, so I decided to stay home and napped. It felt like it has been a while since I got to stay home and relax. That was when Jake called me and asked me to hang out with him at his apartment. At first, I was going to say no, but I changed my mind. Ever since Macie and I broke up, I've been kind of lonely, so I figured why not. Jake can always cheer me up.
"Don't do this to me, Bella. I need you!" I said and looked at her desperately."No," she looked at me, unwillingly to change her mind."If I don't have the boardwalk, I won't be able to build more hotels!" I exclaimed.
"Shit, you are drenched. Let's get you out of this dress," I said."You just want me to get naked, so you can take advantage of me," Bella giggled."I'm just trying to look out for you. Get your mind out of the gutter," I chuckled and flicked her forehead. She yelped and rubbed her forehead.
Bella's POVI inhaled the sweet smell of his cologne as he held me against his body. I couldn't look him in the eyes and tell him I didn't love him and didn't want to be with him. It was impossible, and it would've been a lie.I almost yelled at him again but stopped as Jake and Jane walked in.
"Don't talk to her again," Bella ordered as we stopped in front of my car."Who? Sally?" I said."Sally or Bridget or whatever her name is. Just stay away from her," she said."Why, are you jealous?" I smirked.
I smirked as Bella kept stealing glances at me during the rehearsal dinner. I purposely sat apart from her, but on her opposite side.Things turned slightly sour once my dad and stepmom arrived. I could feel the air of hostility between Bella and him this time. Funny how I never noticed it before.I approached him after dinner. "Hey dad, there's something we need to discuss. About Bella," I said.
Bella's POV"UUGGHH!" I screamed in frustration."Um...okay...I won't pick Lilies as my wedding flowers if it's that much of a problem to you," Jane commented."No...it's not you. I am just...so frustrated! Ugh!" I exclaimed.
"Leave me alone!" Bella tried to avoid my question and get out of bed, but I pushed her back down. She is not going anywhere without giving me some answers."Not before you tell me what's going on? You almost killed me, for fuck's sake!" I exclaimed."I wasn't going to let you die," she said as she struggled underneath me.
Bella's POVI couldn't talk to Bridget. She saw me approaching and ran away.I met Bridget at the hospital. We became best friends in a short amount of time, but then she was released earlier. We kept in touch afterward for a little while, but then she suddenly stopped talking to me. I see her in my area now, but she didn't even bother to contact me? I felt suspicious.
"Whoa...this cabin is freaking awesome!" Jake exclaimed."Except for that," one of his college buddy Shawn pointed at the moose head that hung on the wall, staring at us accusingly."I think it's kind of cool. The owner must've been a hunter," I shrugged.
"I don't know what to say. There must be some mistake. I didn't put that picture there. Why would I!" I exclaimed. My boss watched my face intently. I bet I looked like I was on the verge of tears. This was my job. Sure it was only a desk job at the moment, but it had the potential to become more."You've been a reliable employee since day one, which is why I'm having a hard time believing you could do something so childish lik
