Asteria POV.

I stand and move towards the floor to ceiling windows overlooking the harbour. Feeling the presence of Carter not far from me. The door closes and I know it is just him and me.

“Asteria I’m so sorry.” I just nod my head, watching the trawlers in the harbour.

“What are you sorry for, Carter? You have nothing to be sorry for.” I say, watching the water shimmer and glisten under the sun.

“Carter, you and I weren’t in a relationship, yes we slept together, but that is all. There is no need for you to be sorry for bedding other people. That was your choice.” I turn to look at him and he looks upset, but I ignore the feeling in my chest.
