Zion had been dragged out for drinks once again.

"I'm at work, man!" Zion said, undoing the collar of his coat as he sat down across from Quentin, exasperated.

"You think I'm some rich guy like you who can leave anytime? I'm just a working stiff with a ton of stuff on my plate!"

Quentin didn't seem to hear him.

He gripped his glass tightly, his face dark and brooding. "Tell me, what can I do to make her forget about Xyla? She keeps bringing it up—what if Xyla hadn't done all those horrible things, and if they were both in danger, who would I save first? Zion, how can I make her forget Xyla?"

Zion shook his head. "She's not going to forget. Can you forget someone who's tried to destroy you over and over? Quentin, you're probably screwed for life on this one."
