Chapter 7: Worry

Night comes unexpectedly.

The darkness that Cen Xia feared was mixed with all kinds of desires, and there was no escape.

Chi Jinyan is back.

Over the past three years, all kinds of torture had made her heart tremble whenever she heard his voice, especially at night, when she was afraid of being taken to that place.

The work that Mo Ran assigned to her was simply impossible to finish, not to mention that she had injured one of her hands and was afraid to touch water. The fear of the unknown that rose in her heart was already greater than the pain of the wound.

Chi Jinyan was used to drinking a cup of hand-ground black coffee after dinner every night. Today, Cen Xia brewed the coffee very slowly, taking some time. He carefully brought it to the table, and the plate made some noise in his panic.

Chi Jinyan glanced at her with his emotionless black eyes.

Cen Xia didn't dare look him in the eye. After bringing the coffee to him, she hurriedly lowered her head, fearing that she would anger him. Fortunately, he ignored her.

But Mo Ran kept looking at her. Back then, she was a princess in Qingcheng who was praised by everyone for her elegance and nobility, a woman from a prestigious school and a picturesque beauty, and the object of pursuit of many wealthy and noble sons.

Now that she has ended up like this, she never expected that Miss Cen, who was so arrogant in front of her, would become so cowardly.

Looking at Cen Xia's behavior, Mo Ran chuckled with complacency.

Chi Jinyan saw all the pride and ridicule. He glanced at her, and Mo Ran immediately became serious and lowered her head, pretending to eat the diet meal given to her by the servant.

Chi Jinyan's cold eyes fell on Mo Ran. With just a glance, he could tell what the woman opposite him was thinking.

Apart from her figure, this woman is not presentable at all, and he doesn't like uncultured women at the dinner table.

If he had not been drunk and caused her to lose her innocence, he would not have tolerated such a woman entering the Chi family.

He glanced at Cen Xia again. Although she had lost all her dignity due to his torture, she still exuded an unconcealable nobleness.

Chi Jinyan's eyes were icy cold, which made Cen Xia break out in a cold sweat instantly, and she dared not make a sound.

He looked at Cen Xia, wondering if he needed to polish her a little more before he could completely destroy her.

He looked at the wound on her neck again, and it seemed to be better. He raised the corner of his mouth and said casually, "I heard from Boss Mo that those guests seemed to miss our princess' performance."

The fear became reality, and Cen Xia was like a frightened little rabbit, feeling uneasy but not daring to move.

When Mo Ran heard this, he raised his eyebrows and stared at Cen Xia, with a smile inadvertently appearing at the corner of his mouth.

Then the man's eerie, ghostly voice reached Cen Xia's right ear.

"After you recover in two days, accompany me to the Star Nest ... Come down."

She knew he would say that, but she was powerless to do anything. That terrifying place made her worried, and she didn't know how she would be tortured and her dignity trampled upon again.

She had originally hoped that Chi Jinyan would have pity on her, but she had not expected that he would treat her just to take her out for entertainment with others, and those were low-class trash.

Every time she thought about those men making fun of her, she felt sick, which deeply hurt her self-esteem and made her hate herself. She nodded absentmindedly and disappeared from their sight.

Looking at Cen Xia's lonely back as he left, Chi Jinyan's heart seemed to be scratched by something.

But he didn't care, he turned to look at Mo Ran, and said coldly, "What's wrong with her hand?"

Mo Ran didn't have many opportunities to spend time with him, and thought he didn't care about that woman. She didn't expect he would notice it. As a woman, she felt that this was a very dangerous signal, and she was vaguely worried that her actions would make him angry.

She thought about it, put down her chopsticks, and teased the man with her seductive eyes.

"Mr. Chi~"

She was interrupted by Chi Jinyan as soon as she opened her mouth.

"If you can't speak normally, go to the backyard and learn." Chi Jinyan hates women acting like a spoiled child the most, and the dark lines on his brows have reached a critical point.

Mo Ran was a little confused. There were several dogs in the backyard. She was asked to learn from them? Her face turned pale.

However, she was good at disguising herself and suppressed that emotion. She pretended to look at Chi Jinyan affectionately, put on a stiff smile, and said in a soft voice, "Maybe ... you accidentally got hurt while doing something?"

The man opposite her didn't pay attention to her passionate gaze, and replied indifferently , " Impossible, she cares a lot about her hands."

Chi Jinyan hated it most when others touched his things. His cold eyes were fixed on Mo Ran's seductive face, and his gaze seemed to see through her soul.

Mo Ran's heart was beating fast. She knew Chi Jinyan didn't like others playing tricks on him, not to mention that his hand was still so obviously swollen.

"Mo Ran, don't you forget where this is? I throw all lying women to the dogs."

The fierce look in his eyes frightened Mo Ran so much that his teeth were trembling . " Master Chi, I was wrong. I accidentally hurt her."

"How did you get hurt?"

His voice softened, giving Mo Ran a bit of confidence, and he answered carefully, "Just ... when she was helping me pick up something, she was accidentally stepped on by Aunt Zhang." She spoke in a coquettish tone, hoping that Chi Jinyan would buy it.

Mo Ran deliberately blinked his big innocent eyes and stared at him. His face was calm and it was impossible to tell whether he was happy or angry. It was unknown whether he believed it or not.

Chi Jinyan was very clear about the war between women, and he turned a blind eye to her answer even though he knew it was a lie. She was Xiaoxia's good friend, which made him always deal with her with a filter, not to mention that she was the only woman with whom he had an intimate relationship.

He pursed his lips and didn't give her a good look. His cold voice was full of displeasure . " Don't hurt her in the future ... especially her face."

Not blaming Mo Ran made her relax. Nothing in this family escaped his eyes. How could such a shrewd and wise man be easily deceived?

Mo Ran's hands kept picking up the vegetable leaves and pounding them in the bowl, with her brows lowered and she didn't dare to look at him.

She felt a little guilty. She was dissatisfied that this person would feel distressed when he scratched Cen Xia's face. The sourness in her heart gradually rose. If she cared so much, why did she send herself to be laughed at?

Mo Ran's behavior disgusted Chi Jinyan. Thinking of the promise he had made to her, he instantly lost his appetite. "She has to go out to entertain the guests, and ... she needs to play the piano to entertain the guests ... "

Chi Jinyan glanced at the white piano in the corner of the living room with a serious expression.

In Mo Ran's opinion, there was a lot of sarcasm in these words. He was secretly happy and felt relieved. It turned out that he was worrying too much.

Since Gu Xia's death, no woman has been able to make Chi Jinyan's cold face show a hint of tenderness.

He was only superficially kind to her, never touching her at all, and instead became increasingly indifferent to her.

If she hadn't used tricks in the first place, she would never have been able to become his so-called 'lover'. She couldn't understand how such a crude trick could have deceived him. The only possibility was that this man had never touched a woman. Thinking of this, she secretly rejoiced.

Chi Jinyan is a man of few words and seems to be very abstinent. He is completely focused on his work and matters between men and women do not arouse his interest.

However, she was not in a hurry. He had said that he would give her an explanation as long as Gu Xia had lived for three years. Thinking of this, she looked at her proud figure and felt proud.

Chi Jinyan was a man of few words, and he didn't like to talk much during meals, especially to women, women who loved to lie. Gu Xia was different from them, but she was killed by Cen Xia. Thinking of this, he felt hatred for Cen Xia.

His mood changed so quickly that Mo Ran was frightened.
