Writer's POV
That same evening, Bolu had gone into Alex's study to meet him. He looked distracted at first. And when she sat on his laps, he stared at her in a way she couldn't comprehend. Like he was a bit irritated by her.
It hurt.
Having mastered the art of studying people's body movements and expression, when ever she talked about something, so she could know part of what was troubling them.
She had learnt this art several years ago, when she was in high school, and was trying to become a better version of herself, after she had gotten rejected and insulted by the boy she had a great crush on, and had wrote him a letter.
Bolu mentioned Mia, and then watched how his honey brown eyes brightened, at the mention of her name.
Dammit! She cursed under her breath. Feeling the sudden need to strangle something, or someone rather.
BoluPresent.I woke up feeling nauseous again, that before I could leap off the bed to rush into the bathroom, I barfed on the sheet covers.Moaning and groaned as I vomited, I cursed out loud, then stood up to take the sheet covers, after I finished.I went and stood in front of my dressing mirror, and didn't like what I was seeing at all.My hair was disheveled from sleep, I looked ugly, fat and sick. It felt odd that I was like that. Despite being in a state of despair, I was gaining weight, instead of loosing weight. The past two days had been the worst days of my life. I was used as a sex toy by Tunde Ibrahim. Had stayed with him, and let him have his way with me. I regret not listening to those men, after th
Writers POVAlex had been in a total mess ever since he was what Tunde Ibrahim did to his house. He knew it was partially because he had refused to join the pack. And mostly because of Mia.Mia. He could still recall the first day he had met her. He could forget everything, but not that day.It happened at an event he was invited to, by one of his clients call Rachel Okafor. A woman he had help her won her case.On that Saturday evening, he had seen a girl, clad in ill fitted clothings, and was being denied of making her way forth into the event hall, by an usher. Because she was dressed totally different from the way everyone was dressed. After arguing with the male usher that was standing in front of the huge doors, she began leaving, looking quite sad that he, Alex felt the sudden urge to help her.He began advancing towards her, with she not even bo
Writer's POV"I miss you, Al." She said."I miss you more. You were on my mind each passing day. Still is."There was no response from her, but she closed her eyes shut. Then hummed a foreign sound that sent shivers down his spine.Noticing his tensed mood, she flicked her eyes opened and rewarded him with grin. Showing gim the gap in her teeth which he loved so much. Then she pulled away from him.It was odd because they were the only couple on the beach, no human figure was there. Not even Bruce and Benny, his dogs. Which became more fremd, because he loved taking his dogs with him for an evening walk at the beach. Wether with company or not. But the beach was deserted. He returned hid eyes to the woman who had captured his heart and wrapped in between her fingers. She was laughing and giggling, as the light wave at the end of the beach water, tickled
Writer's POV"Let's go to the karaoke bar." Said Mia as they made their way towards where Alex had his car parked. It was eight thirty in the evening and a lot of people were heading home."It's late, and I have books waiting for me.""And here comes the old Alex." She pouted, buckling her seat belt. Sleep was completely erased off her eyes this time. And she looked active again. "This is the last I'll ask of you tonight. Please, please, please. I want to sing.""Remind me never to go somewhere with you again, after today." Alex replied as he started the car. But he didn't mean it, he wanted to go different places with her and try new things just like the way he did today. He wanted her to take shots of me, with him unaware. He wanted to use any means he could get, just to hug her. To get close to her as possible. He wanted to eat all the rubbish with her, from vendors at the park. It was crazy
MiaFive days ago, left for Nigeria without spoking a word to me. Even when I tried to go hug when I first saw him, few hours after he had left my room. He took a step backwards like I was carrying a variation of plagues. On that day, he wasn't in a good mood. Earlier before he had left, he kept pacing back and forth out of frustration, and forking his fingers through his hair repeatedly, as he repeatedly dialed a number on his phone, and slammed it against his ear impatiently.I could still remember what had happened on the previous evening when he had took me out on a date."You know what, Jinsu. Let's order for pizza and wine." I had told him, not raising my head from the menu book. I knew he liked me using his middle name. That was the main reason I had even used it. To make him feel quite excited. Because excitement had been shooting through me since we went there. He made me so happy. Being with him was
Writer's POVShe could still remember how she had met him. Everything was still so fresh to her. So instead of dwelling in thoughts of how he had acted, she decided to think about everything all over again. She stepped into the hotel of Rachel Okafor on that evening, and halted on her tracks when she saw how grand the hotel was. She couldn't help admiring lthe hotel's exquisiteness. It was very huge, captivating, breathtaking and looked nothing like a Nigerian but those hotels in foreign countries. The atmosphere had this cool aura and smelt of rich roses. The garaged couldn't contain the numerous expensive looking cars, and wealthy-looking people were emerging from those cars. All the men were clad in black tuxedos while the women were dressed in black gowns.Mia stood on her ground, wondering how the owner of the hotel knew such wealthy and good looking people.Well, tho
Writer's POVThen on that night, on her way out of the eatery she had gone to her dinner, she got kidnapped by Tunde Ibrahim and his men. hot and her unconscious body which her kidnappers thought had given up the ghost, was dumped in a bush. However, she was rescued by someone who hurriedly took her to the hospital. There, the bullet was being operated out of her chest. And was being treated. The doctors and nurses thought that it was a miracle she survived a gunshot on the chest. And on the third day, she finally woke up.When she flicked her eyes opened hours later, she found a young man watching her. He was sitted on a chair close to the edge of her bed. Looking extremely rich, uneased and unmercifully viciously beautiful. His intimidating eyes, were the kind that could make ones heart skip a bit, when they landed at the person. He had thick brows and very long lashes, which Mia thought would make it difficult for him to scan things clearly. His
Writer's POVAfter Mia left the hospital. Things became really tough for her that she couldn't return back to her job. Because she knew she just survived death. If it wasn't for Alex, she knew she would have been dead. But God had sent him to save her. And the people who had wanted to kill her, were still out there. So it was best to be in the hidden, because if they by any chance see that she was alive, she would be gone for good. She could still remember how she had been beaten terribly, and then shot right in the chest on that night. It was something she never wanted to experience again. Because the bullet was like a sharp knife that was brought out from fire, and she being stabbed with it repeatedly. Despite the operation was performed, she was still feeling the severe pains on her chest. It really hurt.So she began looking for another job, since she was temporarily sacked. Her boss had told her not to return, until the issue with Tunde Ibrahim
MiaI was alive, and it was a miracle. Because I had completely given up the ghost, and had woken up, right when I was taken to the morgue.I had survived death twice. After six painful months of getting treated in Indian, I was put on a wheelchair. And the doctor said it could take a year or two, before I could start walking again. Because Tunde Ibrahim had completely broken my legsThe fact that Bolu had taken a bullet for me, and had died, made my respect grew for her. She had exchanged her life for mine. And it was something I would forever remain grateful for. Though I still lived witj guilt, because everything she had suffered before death, was because of me. Was even pregnant for Alex. And had risked her and her baby's life, for mine.Something which always made me cry, inspite of me being in a terrible state.Alex didn't cry out. But it I kne
CharlesThe fact that Bolu was dead was still too hard to comprehend. It had been three weeks after her funeral, and it felt like it was just yesterday. I had cried so much, because I loved her with everything inside of me.She was buried on a cold Friday evening, with her parents and relative crying non-stopingly.Alex didn't join anyone. He had stood and watched from a distance, dressed in all black. Tearing up himself, that I couldn't even hate him anymore. He had cared for Bolu in his own way. And the fact that she had died with his baby, was taking a turmoil on him.I had loss Bolu, but the fact that we were all safe, made me not to feel completely lost.Bolu's death was something that really affected Ruby, that she chose to stay mute and refused anyone coming close to her. She deprived herself off food, personal hygiene, and cried he
AlexAn old woman, and a boy who could barely move his limbs came and held Mia as they wept. At this, I knew it was her grandmother and her cousin brother. My brain couldn't properly align that she was gone.I was still hugging her body to myself, as I wept, until I heard "Bolu."Instantly I snapped my head back, and saw one of the cops rushing to the lady who was on the floor. It was the same lady who had taken the gunshot for Mia.I stared at the lady closely, until I saw that it was Bolu.Taking my mask off, I left Mia in the arms of her grandmother, as I quickly walked up to where she was laying on the floor, in the pool of her own blood. The cop and a little girl was crying so hard, as they held her.And I squated and took one good look at her. Wondering why she was there in the first place. And why she had taken the
AlexWith my eyes, I searched for Mia, but I couldn't see her. It was other people who where tied with ropes, and had rags in their mouths.Tunde Ibrahim who had sustained a bullet on his leg, was on the floor. And he had a gun pointed at a female who was decorated in bruises, and had her clothes coated in blood.I looked closely, and saw that it was Mia.My heart moved to my throat at this, and I felt weak right at that instant.Mia looked half as dead, and I could tell that I stopped breathing.Just as Tunde Ibrahim pulled the trigger, I saw a lady from nowhere diving in to shield Mia away from the bullet. And when the bullet got through her neck, and she slumped heavily on the floor. This happened within the space of two seconds, and I shot Tunde Ibrahim on both hands. Before I rushed in to Mia.She was
AlexThe two cops accompanied me down to the basement, after adding more bullets to their guns.I could recall how Kate had told me, one of them; the tall fair one to be precise. Had saved them, when Tunde Ibrahim had sent a bomb.I knew if I hadn't shot the man who intended shooting him, he would have been as dead. Because he was out of bullets at that time.Him and his colleague had stared at me wide eyed, after I had shot and killed the other Tunde Ibrahim's man, who had wanted to kill the colleague. On getting to the basement, I kicked the door opened with my feet, and gunshots where behind fired at me. But for the fact that I was clad in a bullet proof all through, made no bullet to penetrate into my body.Taking steps backwards, I shot at these men, with the cops at my behind, assisting me.The more we moved backwards, the more they
CharlesMax and I exchanged gunshots with some of Tunde Ibrahim's men. It was really easy, because I was quite scared I was going to be shot dead. Even Max had fear evident in his face. We had our backs against eachother as we hid and shot at these men.It was one of the most difficult situation I had ever been thrown in, because we were surrounded by these men who where shooting at us from different angles. But God was still guiding us.The fact that Tunde Ibrahim had my mom and daughter, was worth panicking. I had no idea what he had done to them. If they were still alive or not.Max and I had killed most of Tunde Ibrahim's men, and it looked like two where still remaining, and hiding at some corner so they could shoot us.Just then, one of Tunde Ibrahim's men jumped out from his hidden place and aimed his gun at me.I tried to shoot at him, but then I r
BoluIt looked like something was on going outside, that most of Tunde Ibrahim's men started running out.Gunshots and screams could be heard. And on seeing how Tunde Ibrahim and the remaining of his men were rendering hefty blows and kicks on Mia, was making me sick. There was a pool of blood on the floor, and Mia's face looked swollenly covered in blood.Guilt stung me deeply, that the pace of my breathing became fast and uneasy. Because it was partially because of me that she was in this condition.I had been blinded by hate and jealousy, to see that Mia was innocent. I knew Alex, he wouldn't fall for a despicable person. He had fallen in love with her for his own reasons.Something I was too angry and jealous to notice. And now, she was thrown into this situation because of me.Like a beast, Tunde Ibra
CharlesThroughout the drive to Tunde Ibrahim's house, Max and I were panicking, to the extent that Max even wet his pants.I was trying so hard to keep my emotions in check, and it really wasn't easy.Tunde Ibrahim had my daughter and my mom, and I didn't even know if they were dead or alive. But I chose to believe that they were alive.Meanwhile, Max had lost all hopes. He broke into tears like a baby, and despite that I was in an anxious state, I still managed to talk to him. That everything was going to be fine, and we'd have our families safely. But Max still refused to believe me. His facial expression was like his world was crumpled, and there was no hope of restoring it.Even me too was scared, because Tunde Ibrahim had my daughter and my mother, but I still managed to stay strong. Because if I acted weak, then it meant I was willing to accept the
AlexOn getting in front of Tunde Ibrahim's house, I made sure I took hold of my bulletproof mask. My whole body was clad in bulletproof, before I wore my clothes.I wore a face cap, so it would be hard to recognize me.Then I banged loudly on the gate, and when I heard a masculine voice demanding who I was, I told him I was the pizza delivery guy.The peephole of the gate was flung opened, and a white milky eye stared at me, and the pizza I was holding in a suspicious manner. Before closing the peephole back. Then my ears kicked in the dangling sounds of heavy keys, which read that the gate was being unlocked.Blowing out a big puff off breath, then waited. The gate was finally jerked opened, and I stepped in.Right there an then, I saw an heavy raccoon of a man, with other shirtless guys who had bullets as necklace, and guns in thei
