Chapter 22“Ladies, meet king Justin Haley, the youngest king of Asturias and my beloved cousin.” Danielle introduced Prince Justin to them. Janette looked at Danielle and Justin in shock. A prince? She never knew Danielle came from a royal lineage; but now that she mentioned it, Janette could see the slight resemblance between the two siblings. “Oh, sweet Jesus!” Margaret said, staring directly at him. “Jan, this is the guy I told you guys about, the handsome man from the elevator; so you’re a king?” Justin looked at her in amazement with a stained smile on his face. “Yes, I’m a king.” He answered her and reached out his hand for a handshake. Almost too quickly, she took his hand. The handshake linger for a minute as Margaret refused to release his hand. She gave him a slutty look, “you look handsome.” Margaret told him; he nodded in appreciation and then slowly turned his gaze to Danielle. “Hello princess Danielle, my beloved sister. Why haven’t you been visiting us at the palace?”
Chapter 23Jackson pulled out his pistols from his waistband, pointing to the darkroom. He moved slowly with his feet barely touching the ground. The sound of gunshots floated in the room through the slightly opened dilapidated door. Everywhere inside the building was dark, but Jackson didn’t mind. He was more focused on finding Vincent as he walked majestically through the dark, narrow hallway. “I knew you will come sooner or later, my good friend.” Vincent’s manly voice echoed through the hallway. Jackson’s eyes roamed around. He could feel his own heartbeat against his chest. “Where are you, bastard? Show yourself.” Jackson yelled and took a few steps into the darkness, pointing his guns in the air. “Is nice to see you again — Jackson.” Jackson snarled, angry that he couldn’t see anything except the horrible voice of his enemy. “Are we playing a hide and seek game now?” Vincent laughed cordially, the sound of his boots clicking against the floor as he slowly approach Jackson. Chapter 24“Girl you are a loud screamed, I bet ya woke the neighbors up from their nap.” Margaret said and giggled. Janette’s cheeks suddenly turned vermilion red, she glared at her with a flushed face and replied; “just shut up Mag. Stop exaggerating okay.” Michelle who was sitting beside her sister cleared her throat and said. “But sis I agree with your friend for ones, you’re a good screamer. Ya practically chased us out of our room.” She turned and smacked her sister on the back of her head while glaring at her, the blushed on her face had deepened. “Please let her be. She’s right you know; I’m not a religious person but ya make me pray for God to deafen my ears.” “Its good that you two derived joy from embarrassing me. Remind me to never go out with you two again.” “Now you’re being dramatic Jan; I’m not sorry that the truth hurt.”“Touche, fuck you.” Janette said and turned to look towards the young lady serving the old couples few tables away from them. “What’s delaying our
Chapter 25“Why didn’t you tell me, babe?” Danielle looked furious. She runs her hand over her forehead in frustration. Janette lowered her head to face her covered lap on the bed; “that was what I wanted to tell you after we return from the clubhouse a week ago.” Danielle’s face quickly softened. She remembered Janette asking to speak to her, but she insisted that she take a rest. “I’m sorry, sweetie.” She sat down beside her on the bed. “It was stupid of me to believe them. I thought they were genuinely sorry. I’m going to end their career.” Janette said nothing, her thought lingered more on the good news they received early by the doctor. She unconsciously took her hand to her stomach and rub it gently; so I’m really pregnant again! She thought. “Are you feeling pain?" Danielle’s voice interrupted her thoughts, and she tilted her head to look at her before shaking her head; “no, no, I’m just happy.” She told the other woman truthfully, with her hand still lingering on her stomach.
Chapter 26A year passed by so quickly and Janette barely contain the joy in her heart. She enjoyed seeing all her family together; she didn’t realize how much she’d missed them, especially her mother. Her eyes gazed at her parents as they engrossed themselves in a chitchat over the luncheon table. Although she wasn’t expecting that her parents would travel all the way from New York to see her three months old baby but she was glad they came. All thanks to Danielle and Jackson. They really got her by surprise; they’re the reason she now has her family and friend seated next to her with happiness on their faces. Tears of joy filled her eyes. She longed to cover her face and weep at the wonder of Jackson’s and Danielle’s king and caring gesture towards her. Danielle glanced at Janette, wondering what’s running through her mind. Curious to know the reason for Janette’s quietness, she moved her head closer to her ears and whispered; “what are you thinking about Sunshine?” She looked at he
Chapter 27“I can’t believe we’re doing this.” Janette muttered as they walked through the long hallway. “Me too. But why haven’t you told Danielle and Jackson yet? I thought the plan was to tell them.” Margaret said and tilted her head to glance at Janette, who had her hands tucked in her jacket pockets. Glancing at her friend, she drew a ragged breath and removed her right hand from her pockets to scratch her head. “I’m afraid they might not agree. I just thought to surprise them; if Sol and Rebecca arrived, they won’t have a choice than to let them stay.” Janette wasn’t sure of what she was doing. Perhaps agreeing to Margaret’s idea to allow Solomon to stay with them was a bad idea. Her eyes shifted all around with nervousness. “Perhaps you are right, I’m sorry Jan, I shouldn’t have invited them.” Margaret said slowly as they strode into the elevator. After Janette pressed the button, she moved back to stand beside her friend, tilting her head to look at her; “it’s fine. Sol is you
Chapter 28A chill shivered through Danielle at the two figures before her. She doesn’t even know how to react; anger written all over her face. It was a terrible thing to think that her wife had a weak moral character, perhaps that these was the reason she invited him to their home. She took a calm breath and finally blurted out her anger. “You brought him into our home just to be locking lips with him?” Janette lowered her head in shame. Her mother tried to earn her before telling her to discharge Sol before he ruined her home. “I don’t like him here, his presence might bring you problem with your family,” she had said. I should have listened to her. Janette secretly scolded herself. Danielle turned around and wobbled her way out of the kitchen with a broken heart. “Babe! Danielle!” Janette ran after her, hoping she would give her the chance to explain herself. What she saw wasn’t actually what happened. If only she can just listen to her. But what if Danielle never walked into the
Chapter 29For the past five months, things have been moving glamorously to the Jacksons and their love has blossomed. But Danielle has been feeling nausea and sick for two days straight, Every time she tries to eat something she would end up vomiting, Janette had never seen Danielle looking so weak and helpless, she knows her to be a woman full of strength and courage. She stared at her helplessly after Jackson had excused himself from the room. Leaping out of bed in panic, she went straight to the sitting room and met Jackson, making calls. Janette tapped him and looked at him with a grim face. Seeing the look on her face, he ended the call and asked her. “What happened? Is she still vomiting?” Janette nodded in panic; “yes I’m afraid for her. Perhaps we should call the doctor.” She moaned, her skin turn ghostly pale and shaken that he wondered if she was sick too.Jackson called the doctor just as Janette had suggested before, following Janette back to the room where they found Dan
EpilogueThere are times when I wondered if my parents haven’t sold me out to Jackson what would have become of me. Would I have still married Solomon? Is my life going to be different? If yes, then was it going to be better than these or worst? But to be honest, I don’t expect anything better than the life I have now. When I think about the possible wonderful-good outcome, my beautiful wife and handsome husband, my four children; yes I gave birth to another girl, making it three girls and a boy. Danielle decided that she wouldn’t go through the torment of pushing another baby and Jackson thought four kids were enough. As for my daily work, I finally returned back to the family business after giving birth to our last daughter, although sometimes I kept wondering why Jackson has a room full of sophisticated weapons, but that wasn’t much of a problem because I trust them both with my life. I help the maids sometimes when I’m less busy occupy the chi
Chapter 43“I will not do such a thing to my baby. Just stop it. You. She two should stop trying to convince me to kill my baby.” Janette screamed on top of her voice but quickly held her stomach. She seemed to be in great pain. Jackson quickly rushed to her side to help her. He took her to the bed and helped her to lie down. “You see what we are talking about babe, we can always get another baby, but we can’t get another Janette if you eventually die.” Danielle said sadly and sniffed. She fumbled for a handkerchief in her pocket and used to blow her nose. It saddened Janette to see Danielle crying like a child for the first time in her life, but what they were asking her to do was impossible. She can’t possibly watch the doctor remove her unborn child. “Please, honey, allow the doctor to save your life. We can’t leave without you.” Jackson murmured, stroking her hair. He felt wounded and useless because there was nothing he can do to save his child but he would do everything possible

She stared intensely at the gift with great shock. Danielle waited, one minute, two minutes; there was no word from Janette because she couldn’t find her voice. Her eyes immediately glitter, looked like she was about to cry anytime soon. “You—you don’t like it? If you don’t like it, I can actually go back there first thing tomorrow morning to return it.” Danielle said, closing back the small box that was still clenched in her hand with a sad look on her face. Janette quickly shook her head; “no, it is lovely, I was just mesmerized by the beauty of the locker.” Danielle wore a smiled. “I would be so honored if you would wear this to our little outing tomorrow evening.” The smile on Janette’s face deepened, her eyes beamed with excitement. With reverent enthusiasm, she told Danielle to sample it on her neck to see how it woul
Chapter 40A shiver of mistrust slithered through Janette as she tried to dismiss the thought of Danielle and the two young men who were tied with ropes around their body and the other was screaming and crying for help. She could barely do any work and wished that she never even came to the office because her head aches so much, Janette had been thinking, she wondered why Jackson refused to speak when she asked him if he knows that Danielle could actually kill a full human being. Janette wanted to walk into Danielle’s door and asked her questions that had been gnawing her since that day, but thought better of it. She had never felt such helpless rage in her life. The sudden ringing tune from her phone startled her. Looking at the screen in wonder, she saw that it was her mother who was calling. Janette dragged a ragged breath and took the phone from the table and took it to ear, leaning her elbow on the table; “hello mom,” she said almost above whisper and then massage her forehead wi

That was before he got married to my sister.” Michelle told her truthfully. “Oh!” Scarlett exclaimed, turning to look out the window again; “he did a good thing. So can we go in now? I’m famish.” Michelle looked at her nervously and nodded. “Sure, of course.” They slowly climbed out of the car, Scarlett walked around and reached for Michelle’s right hand holding it in hers, Michelle hesit
Chapter 38The next morning was quiet in the Jackson’s household. Janette was awakened by the soft kisses thrown face by Jackson. When she stirred from her sleep, she wasn’t surprised that Danielle was already gone, using the back of her hand to clean her eyes. Her head then turned to Jackson beside her; “good morning, love.” He said in a hoarse voice, bringing his lips to kiss her again. “Morning babe, did you rest well?” Jackson nodded slowly, smiling at her. “Yes, I did.” Janette nodded too and swung her head to look towards the bathroom. Perhaps Danielle was bathing; where did she go to? Have she gone to finish what she had started yesterday? Janette wondered but stopped to think back over the incident that had happened the previous day. “Where’s Danielle?” She inquired, leaning her back to the bed board. Her eyes were fastened on Jackson. “She went to visit Justin before going to the office.” Jackson told her and narrowed his eyes, “is there something wrong? You seemed to be awfu
Chapter 37“Let us go, you fucking bastard.” Rick screamed on top of his voice the minute he saw henry and Danielle walked into the room. “Is that how you greet your boss?” Danielle said softly, proceeding into the dark room when she had determined to see their faces. “Please, ma’am, let me go. It was his idea and that of Mr. Fred; I never wanted to be part of this.” Peter pleaded as he struggled to free himself from the tight rope tight securely around his body. “Fred? Which Fred are you talking about?” Asked Danielle as she went further to look at Peter’s face clearly through the dime light, she did could scarcely believe it herself, but then again she wouldn’t be surprised if Fred name was mentioned after he had tried to kill Justin. “F-Fred, king Justin's stepfather.” Peter responded almost quickly, afraid of what might happen to him if he fails to answer. Danielle thought of her other bit of news for a moment. She pondered how Fred was able to commit such a crime when he wasn’t p
36 Janette tossed and turned and tried to fall asleep, but to no avail. She finally decided that she must have an open talk with Danielle. For the past four days, Danielle hasn’t been coming home early. Most times she returns when everyone has gone to bed. Even Jackson, too, hasn’t returned from Switzerland. All she was feeling was a strange emptiness, a lonesomeness gnawing within her and Juan too has started asking of her other parent. The twins can speak. But she knew that they’d missed theChapterir mama and dad, too. Janette lifted her eyes to look at the watch on the nightstand; ten minutes past one, she fretted. She had missed them terribly. Picking her phone from the bedside, she contemplated if to call Danielle or to wait for another few minutes. With a heavy heart and trembling legs, Janette dropped the phone back to its previous position and wobbled her way towards the bathroom. After she had finished peeing and washing her hands, she returned e room and decided to call Dan
