Chapter 10

Raven’s POV

Must have dozed off at some point, woke up and saw Asher leaning on the door frame, wearing all black, looking like an avenging angel.

I could smell the scent of blood on him, but the shadows hid his face so I couldn't make out his expression, just his outline.

 He seemed to be staring right at me, a look of hunger and want.

I sat up, fear and something else brewing inside of me. A wave of arousal hit me, my wolf was up and active and she liked the feral emotions rolling off our mate.

Unable to say a word, but just kept staring at him, hoping he would move or say something. 

After a while, Asher stepped into the room, within the dominance of an Alpha.

“Ash…Asher, what’s going on?” I asked him as he approached the bed.

“Mine” was all he said. His wolf was so close to the surface, I could sense it. 

The tension in the room seemed to grow, my stomach clench in excitement at his closeness. The feeling of want encapsule me.

“Tell me to stop now Raven” he says, trying hard to rail in his want, but I could see the heat in his eyes, but I couldn't bring myself to say no.

 I wanted him too, my wolf wanted her mate.

Asher suddenly tipped up my chin and kissed me. There was nothing gently about the kiss, he kissed me with so much passion and force, demanding I open up for him.

I kissed him back, matching the same energy. Growling, he flipped me over, in the way I'm straddling him, a position that puts me in charge. 

This is a way of showing me he wants me to take control, to lead the pace. He is giving me that power.

His hands trailed under my thin nightgown, I wasn't wearing any underwear, stopping at the edge of my vagina, making me gasp in need. 

I was a virgin, and this is the first time experiencing this level of intimacy. Feeling my stiffness, Asher stopped to look up at me

“Are you still untouched Raven?”. He asked looking at me with hooded eyes

“Does that matter?” I ask, feeling shy all of the sudden, gone was the initial bravado I had earlier.

“It matters to me, Raven. You’re my mate, I want to take care of you, cherish you. Everything about you matters to me”

“I know you’ve had several females before me and I'm not experienced like them. I… I don’t want to disappoint you”

“Shh… nothing you do can disappoint me. I’m very happy and honored to be your first, I'm happy no one has had you before me, I'm happy my mate is untouched for me. 

It doesn’t matter if I've had other females before, none of them can be compared to you. Okay?” he spoke gently, cradling my face in his arms.

Breaking away from him, I moved to sleep by his side, looking right at him. 

No one has ever spoken so lovely to me and cherished me with their words the way Asher did just now.

“Asher, where were you earlier? And why do you smell like blood?” I finally got the courage to ask.

Tucking me under his arm, so my head can rest on his chest under his head he answered

“I got a message from Derek earlier about a rogue wolf close to the pack’s territory, so I had to go deal with it.

But, was surprised when there were five rogue hovering around the territory”

“My wolf got feral during the attack, so I had to stay by the door for a while to calm down before coming in, didn’t want to scare you”

“You didn’t scare me. I’m not afraid of you Asher, my wolf knows you would never hurt us". I said snuggling closer to him to feel his warmth.

“But Asher, why didn't the pack enforcers take care of it or go with you?”

“I asked them to stay and guide the pack, also told Derek to stay in the house too”

I had a feeling it was to watch over me, but I didn't say anything, just smiled.

“Come on, let’s sleep now”. He said kissing me again, he tasted like honey and mint. I found myself getting lost in his taste.

He suddenly broke the kiss, smirking, no doubt sensing my arousal.

“Goodnight Raven”

“Goodnight Asher” I replied, placing my hand on his chest right where his heart was, feeling the gentle beat of his heart, luring me to sleep.
