Being a brother is always hard. Not only that you have to remain as the father figure of your younger siblings, but you are also the strength of your mother to assist her when your father is away.

And despite all that, Othello had nothing to worry about.

It wasn't hard for him, because he never experienced becoming one, as he had already left the side of his sister when she was born, and came back late to see her.

If he had the power to go back in time, he would. He would leap down from the trees and approach her playing with the sand and sticks. He would tap her on the shoulder and tell her that she was her brother.

But he couldn't.

He didn't want Asty to get involved with the things he started when he left. He didn't want Asty to get caught in a situation. He didn't want Asty to see him and reject him, for he was a Night Hallow.

But one night, after 19 years of looking after her from behind the shadows and keeping her from ha

Chaol found a boy in the woods. It was on the 3rd of May, while the sun sets from the horizons when he found him. He was pale as snow, crouching beside the huge redwood, with his knees tucked against his arms. His eyes were fixed in a blank distance ahead of him. The young boy was flimsy and short. His eyes were dead and his lips were chapped and blue.Chaol was not very fond of adopting children into his castle, but there were times when there was an exception. He would only invite them if he sees them fit to live and serve him.He gently approached him and lowered himself to call out to him, softly."Hello there...""Get lost." the boy immediately spat at him. "Get lost or I will kill you.""Unfortunately, you can't." Chaol mimics a sad face and sat beside him. "So, how did you die?""I'm not dead." he hissed at him."A half breed then? Interesting, I haven't talked to a mongrel such as you are, in years."
