"I noticed you have been staring at me all these while, is there a problem?" Garfield asked, even though he knew that he was on top of a bigger problem.

He was only trying to use that means to see if there was a way he could get to convince Elena and get her to continue the journey with them, even if she was tired.

Elena on the other hand, nodded in disapproval and turned her face away from him.

Marcus had to live with the bitter realization that Elena was finally out of his life and they were obviously never going to set eyes on each other anymore, unless a great force brought them together once again.

He was beginning to appreciate her more now that she was nowhere to be found. He just couldn't believe what he had brought upon himself by having to frustrate such a sweet soul as Elena to the point of her running out for the safety of her life.
