Caddaric wanted to intervene but then again, Allan was the only contender. He turned around, sighed, and said, “I'll wait for you by the car.”Allan nodded his head and Casper beckoned Allan to follow him. Just a little distance away, Casper turned to face Allan.“What do you do for a living?” He asked calmly, his expression blank. Allan didn’t want to lie to his supposed father-in-law but if Caddaric kept it from his father, then who was he to tell it?“Just as Caddaric said, I work for him for now but if you want details of my abilities, I will give you when I can pin his back to the ground,” he said politely. That is, he had respectfully refused to give the details since he wasn’t sure whether he would be able to win against Caddaric. Casper didn’t dwell on it much because he had planned to pull a few strings to not let Allan marry Cassandra. A guy who infiltrated the Blade Towers was a criminal who shouldn’t have been given a chance.“When do you want to join the academy?” He aske
“I’m sorry Hans, but you have to move on.” Miranda’s unfeeling words stabbed Hansel and he instantly pulled away, looking at her with tear-filled eyes and shock. There was no remorse on her face nor in her tone. Miranda was trained to handle a man who didn’t show emotions. So Hansel breaking down because he was human, she found it irritating. She didn’t know how to comfort a crybaby and couldn’t understand exactly what Hansel was feeling. To be able to marry a Blade family member through an arranged marriage, one had to be unfeeling and Miranda wasn’t any different. Whereas Hansel felt as if he was hearing the most painful words. When Miranda broke up with him before and returned, he thought things were going to be better but this was more throbbing. He expected her to stand and fight for their love but not to give up like it meant nothing to her. “You are going to marry him?” He asked as if he didn’t know who he was talking to anymore. Miranda wasn’t
“Are you sure you don’t want to eat anymore? If you want anything else, I can make it for you,” Caddaric said and asked Ariana, who was feeling like a whale for having eaten so much. Ariana gulped down the freshly squeezed orange juice he made for dessert due to her nausea. The acidity of the juice helped to curb it. Funny enough, whiles he was concerned about her well-being, her mind wandered off to a different world.“Anything?” Ariana asked, drooling over his exposed abs in the singlet he wore. He was in his boxer shorts and that well-sculpted body of his was all Ariana wanted to feast on. She wondered about the physical exercise that must have earned him such a great physique. He had a few scars but proudly showed them off. He was a fighter, a warrior, and an assassin before he became a CEO so scars were nothing to him. He liked that she enjoyed what he made her and wanted to give her more.“Anything for you, Ari,” he closed the distance between them after dropping the unwashed pl
“Where is doctor…” Before Caddaric could mention the name of the doctor he was looking for, the new one interrupted,“She has an emergency and will be gone for a few months. My name is…” Caddaric’s phone beeped and he checked it. It was a message from Allan. ‘If your instinct doesn’t feel right about anyone, don’t ignore it.’Caddaric’s unease increased as he read the message. First of all, how did this doctor know the exact one he was looking for when he hadn’t mentioned her name? She wasn’t the only gynae in this hospital. He dialed the doctor’s number but a robotic voice responded, ‘the number you have dialed is either switched off or out of coverage area.’Caddaric's unease increased. He informed the doctor two hours ago that he'd be here and she said she was going to be there. He dialed Allan’s number after ending the call to the doctor but was met with an automated text message, ‘I’m at the Blades’ academy. Sorry, I can’t answer calls.’ Caddaric knew the no-phone call rules at t
From Ariana's experience with Casper last night, she was no longer afraid of him like before but felt it odd, especially knowing that she was going to expose some intimate parts depending on the kind of checks to be carried. Ariana didn’t like the idea.“Why can’t you take me?” She asked Caddaric, frowning a little. She was beginning to fear that the revelation of his identity had made her a target because she was always seen with him but Caddaric’s response was least expected.“Truth be told, we are not supposed to sleep with a woman we aren’t married to so if I take you to the hospital myself, the Blades will begin to investigate our relationship. I will eventually take the punishment but there are things I need to do first,” Caddaric explained. Casper escaped the punishment of getting Jenna pregnant out of wedlock by outsmarting his grandfather, and pinning the blame on him when he introduced a rule of testing his sexuality, knowing that Casper didn’t like women
Ariana was nervous when they got to the doctor’s office. Casper noticed it and tried ways to calm her. “It’s just like every normal hospital but we have more equipment,” he explained before directing her eyes roaming around the room to the woman in front of them. “Meet Doctor, Rosaline Blade. She took care of my wife throughout her time of pregnancy,” he said calmly, exuding the air of a father. What he didn't add was the fact that she was also a cousin.Ariana looked in the direction of the doctor, who looked like Cassandra but had eyes as dark as Casper’s. She looked older, above forty and she wondered why they looked alike. “Nice meeting you ma’am,” Ariana said to the doctor. “Same here,” the woman had a kind smile on her face said, making Ariana loosen up. Rosaline turned to Casper and said, “Mr. Blade, you know that I am only assigned to pregnant women.” Since she couldn’t ask who Ariana was to Casper directly, she used this approach. “Tha
Hunter was about to leave the room due to the temperature, which had risen so badly when Casper said coldly, “Get Grandpa Rex. I’m tired of this shit.” Hunter froze instantly. It meant that Casper was extremely sore to give up on his daughter and hand her over to the Blades. Caddaric knew that his father was very hard but also loved them. He was also a Senior and could appeal on their behalf for whatever punishments were to be meted out. Caddaric would rather have his father handle this than the other seniors. Rex was good but he would involve the other seniors because he was now old. Those other seniors were deadly, looking for ways to even overthrow Caddaric, if not for Casper. “Dad please, there are better ways around this,” Caddaric pleaded on Cassandra’s behalf but Casper was too angered. “Any suggestions?” As Casper asked, the lights dimmed instantly. Hunter had seen him removing his sunglasses, doing the needful. If Casper removed his sunglasses,
Dear cherished Reader, I have read all your requests for two or more chapters, which makes me happy because it means that you are enjoying reading the story as much as I enjoy writing it. Trust me, it’s what I intended for this month because I feel better and want to end the story by the end of the month but the problem is, I’m afraid of when my challenge would kick in again. I’ve had this health challenge for five years now so though I feel better sometimes, it usually doesn’t last long and for which reason the story might extend to April ending. I write the two chapters when I am up to it but hold on to one, just in case I am not able to write the next day. I hate to miss update days and leave you in the loop for which reason I arranged it that way, so that whether I am sick or not, you will have at least a chapter to read. I have another book ongoing as well and don’t want to put either of them on hiatus because they both have their unique readership base so I hope you understand.
