The phone dropped from Casper’s hand and he did not bother to pick it up, only doing so after reaching the academy. Ariana followed behind whiles he went to the punishment room. His eyes darkened dangerously, as he did not see Caddaric but two of Rudolph’s bodyguards being whipped. Pushing Ariana behind him, he spoke calmly, “What is going on here?” Colton turned round to face him, his face covered in anger and fear, as he held it all in and responded, “Uncle Casper, Rudolph poisoned the whip.” “Where is Caddaric?” Casper asked, not caring about the groaning bodyguards. It did not look like they had taken enough lashes from the marks on their backs but they looked as if they were going to die any minute. “At the ER,” Colton nodded his head and said, feeling like he failed. Ariana’s heart wanted to fall out of her chest when she heard Colton’s voice, though her view was blocked by Casper so she could not see the two bodyguards. She understood t
Doctor Sarah arrived with Juliet and Jenna. Jenna was heartbroken to have experienced this for the second time. The first being her husband, and now her son. Doctor Sarah performed checks on Caddaric, confirming that he was out of harm’s way. Investigations showed that just as Casper and Ariana had suspected. The ER doctor had been in Cahoots with Rudolph and was receiving his punishment. Slowly, Caddaric regained his strength and the next day, he insisted on going home. He could hardly walk without support but since Doctor Sarah was on leave, she agreed to stay to continue treating him at home. Also, it was because of Carter. Caddaric could speak slowly but his energy was very low, he could not take more than five steps at a time. Doctor Sarah confirmed that it would take at least a week for him to fully recover. Allan and Cassandra returned from their short stay at the hotel and they were always by Caddaric’s side since they were the only ones new to what happened. Two days later
“He sleeps deeply because of his medications and sores so let’s lock him in his room for now. We can keep a gun by his side just in case any intruder gets there,” Casper said after careful thought. For as long as Caddaric does not face someone like Don Dragon, it would be alright. He turned to Cassandra and said, “Cassa, get Ariana out quietly okay.” “Alright,” Cassandra said and left. Allan swallowed his saliva tightly, as he watched the silhouette disappear from the doorway. At least Junior had gone to spend some days with Darel after the wedding so Allan’s only worry was his pregnant wife. “We can’t get anyone out. It would be dangerous,” Allan said to Casper, who responded solemnly, “No one is going out. This is our house and we all have to defend it.” “What about bombs?” Allan asked worriedly, recalling what was done to Caddaric’s penthouse. Casper explained with certainty, “They won’t use them since they want Caddaric
Caddaric has been sleeping the longest he ever did in his life. He was awakened by the noise and realized his door had been locked. He tried to kick it down, which should have been easy but somehow, he was not strong enough. Seeing the gun on the bed and knowing the manor had been attacked, he opened his medicine cabinet and injected himself with adrenaline, knowing it was dangerous for his health. Picking the gun, he shot at the door and continued to shoot a few people, only to arrive at a scene where his cousin was being battered and his father nearly getting deeply injured. His anger rose, as his blood boiled when he saw Don Dragon and all those Dons and ex-militia in his father’s manor. He was able to save his father from injury and vowed to use the strength he had from the adrenaline to kill Don Dragon even if Caddaric died after that.“Cadda, you are not strong enough, don’t be stubborn again,” Casper cautioned“Adrenaline,” Caddaric said to Casper. Instantly, the man ran out of
One by one, they broke from the hug with the realization sinking in that one very important person was missing from the group. She was the first person the women wanted to report on but the sudden state in which Caddaric was, made them forget for a moment. One by one, the hands wrapped around one another began to drop as each person began to rise to his feet, the last person being Caddaric, as he was supported by Ariana but seemed to be fine. However, he did not know what happened and the reason why Ariana was crying. It was as if that part of his brain had been erased and he was having a headache but right now, he was concerned for Juliet. “Moncho has her,” Ariana responded to Colton but the man was greatly disappointed until Ariana was about to explain when Cassandra took the words from her mouth. “There was a group of men waiting for us at the end of the tunnel. We did our best and shot as much as we could but ran out of bullets. They almost caught up to us when Juliet found the
Sarah seemed to have forgotten about the people around her until the same male reporter from before asked, “Doctor Sarah, you seem surprised. Is he lying or what?” Again, Carter responded before Sarah could come out of her shock. “No, I just haven’t told her yet.” He checked his shirt pocket, bringing out a broken ring case but the ring was intact. He had wanted to propose to her the night before the attack but Sarah had gone to check on Caddaric and spent a lot of time chatting with the girls, Carter had fallen asleep. It was not long before the attack hence, he had not changed his shirt from the night before. He brought out the ring and smiled weakly, “I’m sorry. I was going to propose before the intrusion.” He went down on one knee in front of her and the media reps as they gawked with shock. Sarah was too stunned to react upon seeing the expensive diamond ring. ‘Is he for real? Like…wait, we haven’t even kissed before.’ Sarah was lost in thought, feeling like
“He won’t remember,” Casper affirmed and added, “Show him the video.” Caddaric paused his food and began to watch the video Allan sent to his phone. His expression was neutral before he dropped the phone and hugged Ariana tightly, his eyes glassy. The emotionless monster suddenly got emotional upon seeing how the woman he loved refused to give up on him even after he had been declared dead by a medical doctor. Her tear-filled words fell heavily in his heart. “Thank you for not giving up on me for the second time,” he said in a voice full of heavy emotions, all eyes turned teary once again as the sound of cutleries dropping was heard. Ariana was still crying upon recalling everything. When that wicked Blade doctor was pronouncing nonsense over Caddaric, she knew that she had to fight for her man. “I hope there won’t be a third time, Cadda, because my heart would not be able to take it and I might just die with you,” she said, teary-eyed, and with a teary voice, as she hugged him back
Earlier, the three men spent the night together, talking about their experiences in love and how excited they were to have the women they loved. They ensured to sleep earlier than they were used to. Caddaric woke up very early and woke the rest. “Cadda, it's three hours to the wedding and we are not even the brides,” Carter complained, changing his sleeping position to the right. Caddaric shook him harder till the sleep cleared from his eyes and said, “We are the grooms and we have to arrive before our brides.” “I thought you let your bride arrive first,” Colton asked him. Caddaric frowned, not expecting his closest pals to have misunderstood him. “What? Do you think? No way. That was because of what I planned for Miranda but I will never do something like that to Ariana. I have to go and wait for my pregnant bride. If you two want to come later, then so be it,” he said and began walking towards the washroom when Colton yawned and said,
