The anticipation was real as we waited for the full moon to emerge. Guests from all over the world had come to celebrate, and the atmosphere was electric with excitement. Drinks flowed freely, and tables were laden with a feast fit for royalty. Laughter and chatter filled the air, blending with the distant sound of howls.

This was the night when eligible werewolves would experience their first shift and potentially find their mates. I held onto a sliver of hope that the moon goddess might finally show me mercy, that this could be my moment. But as the full moon reached its peak, the howls of joy and transformation echoed around me, and I felt a familiar pain of disappointment. Once again, I didn’t get my wolf.
