Alexander's POV

My heart felt like it was being picked with a thousand knives. Too sad to know that Isabella had this kind of family. I felt offended by their behavior. I had predicted this outcome but now that it was happening I felt heartbroken. I couldn't explain why, but it seems the word disappointment wouldn't really explain how I felt.

The more she babbled on, the more it grated on my nerves. Her voice, like nails on a chalkboard, pierced through the air, refusing to let me escape its clutches. Yet, I remained stoic, a silent observer of her actions. Little did she know, I saw right through her reactions. It was painfully obvious that she had come here to make a fool of herself. What in the world was she thinking? If it were truly that effortless to sway me, she wouldn't have gone through all this trouble. Her father would have gladly signed those documents, sealing her victory.
