Emilia's Pov

Based on the information I received, it was evident that Isabella, my step sister, was being treated poorly, almost like a slave. I thought it would be wise to discuss this with our mother and hear her perspective on the matter. However, I didn't expect her to be surprised by the information, as she must have already known or suspected something was about it. If anyone is aware of everything that is happening, it would be my mother. But it seems she couldn't really connect to the spy she once had there.

As I observed my mother getting a pedicure and manicure, I noticed how focused she was on her own self-care, rather than being the talkative and engaged mother she used to be. I found it amusing and watched her with a smile.
