The loud moaning sound made Irene stop in her tracks, but it didn't deter her from her intention to leave the room. Irene kept approaching Adam's bed in the middle of the room while focusing her gaze on the poorly lit area. Irene's gaze fixed on Adam, who was fast asleep with a blanket covering half of his body. Adam's upper body was exposed, and Irene knew that he didn't like to sleep in a t-shirt.
Adam seemed restless in his sleep, and it made Irene curious as she approached the sleeping man. Irene couldn't deny that Adam looked handsome when he was asleep, and even when he was staring at her. His sharp nose, green eyes, and always-red lips never failed to make Irene's heart race when she looked at him.
Even when he was asleep and not looking at her, Irene's heart always beat fast. Especially when Adam spoke to her with his low, baritone voice that sounded tempting.
"Why am I imagining the nights I spent with him in bed? Oh my God! Erase those dirty thoughts, Irene!" Irene shook her head vigorously as thoughts of Adam on top of her and moving his hips crossed her mind.
Although she and Adam always did it, Irene never looked at him up close while he was asleep. Adam would leave after he felt his duty to impregnate Irene was done. Unbeknownst to Irene, Adam's sharp Alpha instincts suddenly sensed her proximity. In one swift move while Irene was caught off guard, Adam's hand managed to pull her entire body into his embrace and made Irene now lying beneath his body.
Irene gazed at Adam intently, imagining how handsome their son would be if she really had a child with him. Of course, Adam's face would dominate. Especially with the Alpha gene that Adam possessed.
"How can a werewolf be so handsome like this? Is it because he's an Alpha, so his face is so handsome and charming? His aura is even so strong that I always feel scared when I look into his sharp eyes," murmured Irene with her outstretched hand, wanting to touch Adam's face that was closed in front of her.
Adam's previously closed eyes now looked sharply at Irene from very close range. Even Irene felt that his gaze had become luminous as he looked intently at her, "What are you doing?" Adam asked in his typical voice
Irene's body tensed up upon hearing Adam's words and her tongue felt dry to answer the question posed by Adam to her.
"I- I..."
"You barged into my room? Haven't I always told you not to come into my room when I'm sleeping?" Adam quickly interrupted.
Irene didn't know what to say, especially since Adam was piercing her with his sharp gaze.
"Sorry." Irene said and tried to get up from her position. Unfortunately, Adam's strength was ten times stronger than hers, making Irene unable to move her body trapped beneath Adam's.
"Don't you think that I'm sleeping with you and using you as a vessel to bear my child, you can do whatever you want." Adam said.
Adam's words instantly pierced Irene's heart that had been beating irregularly. Her gaze changed, and her heart felt painful. Even taking a breath felt suffocating.
"I'm not hesitant to move you to sleep in the basement, Miss Irene." Adam continued.
Adam's words successfully broke down Irene's defenses. Tears streamed down her face as she continued to stare at Adam's face from such a close distance.
"Do you think I'll apologize after what you just did? Know your place!" Adam said once again before he got up from his position and sat on the edge of his bed.
Adam put on a smile, "Fuck! Do humans always expect like this? Just because they're given a little attention, they become hopeful. Such a lowly creature that can't be understood."
Hearing Adam's words, Irene burst into tears, as if his words had just activated all the bad memories of her past and everything she had been receiving while staying in Adam's mansion.
Slowly, Irene got up and tried to leave Adam's room with tears obstructing her vision. Irene went straight to her room and didn't say anything else. Her tears broke out as soon as Irene entered her room and leaned against the closed door. Adam's words repeated in her mind. Irene could feel her eyelids swelling due to her own tears.
Knowing her position, a lowly human sold by her father, a mistress of the Alpha, and other names that Irene had always heard finally overflowed through her tears that shattered the silence. Realizing that she now lived with werewolves, Irene got up from her position then grabbed a pillow and screamed while hugging her face with the pillow to muffle her voice.
"Why me? Why does it have to be me?" Irene asked herself with a heart wrenching cry.
Irene's shattered life, which she had always kept hidden in the hope that she would be free one day after giving birth to a son for him. But Irene's already messed up mind now couldn't even hold back her desire to leave. Irene had wanted to leave for a long time but always put it off because she believed Adam's words. But what Irene was facing now was different. Her chest felt tight as if a thousand knives were piercing her heart.
For a moment, Irene suddenly stopped crying as she realized something within herself. Her hand clasped her aching chest as she thought back to Adam's words.
"Do I like him? Why am I always fine when someone else says it but hurt so much when Mr. Adam says it?" Irene murmured.
Irene fell silent and wiped her tears with the sleeve of her shirt. Her gaze became blank as she realized that she had developed feelings slowly over time spent with Adam
There was even a desire within her to have more with Adam. A desire to be recognized and considered as his partner.
"I can't, I can't be like this. How can I like a man who clearly always ignores me? Speaking coldly and sometimes even being harsh towards me?" Irene thought to herself, remembering some of the treatments Adam had given her.
Irene's hope shattered in silence and after Adam's words that made her aware of her position. Irene wiped her tears once again and gave a wry smile at her own fate, "Okay. Maybe it's best for me to leave."
Irene's mind now began to wander and think about how she would leave from there. Her patience in dealing with the entire werewolf race, especially Adam and his servants in the house, had finally run out. "I will go to Thibeult City," murmured Irene as she decided on the location she would go to.
Indeed, the place where Irene lived called Boris City was a hidden place from the outside world. Even the life between werewolves and humans can only be known by the original community of Boris City. For those who reveal the secrets and mysteries of Boris City, they are ready to risk their lives.
With puffy and half-awake eyes, Irene left her room and walked towards the dining room after Melanie knocked on her door several times to wake her up, citing that Adam wanted to have breakfast with her. Irene felt so lazy to meet Adam, especially after his words last night that made her feel even lower about herself. For Irene, she felt that her self-worth had disappeared ever since Matthew, her stepfather, sold her to Adam.Upon arriving at the dining room, Irene was immediately faced with a cold and silent atmosphere. Melanie, Vera, and Maya were all standing in the corner of the room with their hands clasped and their heads bowed. "Sit." Adam commanded in a cold voice.Irene remained silent and didn't move immediately as Adam had instructed. Eventually, Adam, who had been busy cutting his medium-well steak, placed his knife and fork down so forcefully that they made a loud clatter, startling Irene and the other three servants. "Didn't you hear what I said earlier? Sit." Adam repe
Irene continued running without stopping and felt her legs going numb and numb, even though she knew her legs were not in good condition. Various wounds started covering her legs, where each step now weakened them, but not her spirit, which yearned for freedom."Shouldn't he have realized I left since this morning? Am I lucky or did he purposely let me go because he's fed up with me?" Irene mumbled in her heart as she realized that neither Adam nor the servants had found her. This also put Irene in a better position because she could keep running away from a place that felt like hell to her, where humans were not something beautiful. Humans were merely used as tools for werewolves to achieve their status, and that's what made Irene feel disgusted and resentful.Gasping for breath, Irene continued running through the forest, and without her realizing it, the sun had set. She had no idea how long she had been running in the same place, feeling like she was going in circles without an en
After a long and exhausting overnight journey, Irene and the old woman who accompanied her finally arrived at a not so large two story house. Irene stepped out of the car slowly and looked around at the surroundings, which were filled with dwellings. It was a stark contrast to the place where she had been confined, where all she could see were trees and chirping birds."Come in," the old woman invited Irene.Irene glanced around and understood that the place was quiet because they had arrived in the early hours of the morning. It was only natural that there weren't many people passing by.Irene entered the house that she believed belonged to the old woman. The woman then directed Irene to a closed door and stopped in front of it. For a moment, Irene looked puzzled."Take a bath and clean yourself first. The towels are inside, under the drawer. You can use the clean ones," the old woman said.Irene blinked for a moment and then nodded in understanding. As Irene entered the bathroom, th
The bright morning felt different than usual for Irene, who had just woken up in a different place than she was used to. Somehow, her feelings had changed to a sense of joy after being liberated from the shackles of Adam that had constrained her for so long.Irene felt as if her lungs could breathe more freely after experiencing all the freedom she had longed for. Though Irene couldn't deny that Adam had also saved her from her father, who heartlessly sold her on her birthday just for a sum of money to do despicable things. But Irene's thoughts changed as she got to know Adam better over the past year. Everything was different, and what she had yearned for wasn't what she had expected. While Irene was fortunate that she wasn't sacrificed for Adam's purposes, giving birth to a werewolf child also put her precious life at risk.Knock! Knock! Knock! The sound of a knock on the door suddenly snapped Irene out of her reverie about the suffering she had endured all this time. Although she w
The atmosphere of the hospital, filled with people from various backgrounds, both amazed and frightened Irene. She was amazed by the sheer number of people queuing up at the healthcare facility. At the same time, her fear was rising along with the fear of Adam's appearance in that place."Adam won't come here, will he? He's the one who avoids crowds the most," Irene murmured in her heart.Magdalena, who had been sitting beside her, waiting for Irene's turn to see the doctor, turned towards Irene and looked at her intently."Irene, are you still feeling nauseous?" Magdalena asked again.Irene shook her head. "No, I'm not anymore, Mother," Irene replied.A nurse who had just come out of the doctor's room with a patient who had just finished being examined by the doctor seemed to be checking her notes to call the next person in line.Magdalena also seemed to be paying attention, her ears perked up to hear the next patient being called."The next patient... Irene," she said.Magdalena imm
"Miss Irene... Congratulations on your pregnancy," said a smiling doctor to Irene, showing off her neatly arranged white teeth.Irene's world felt like it crumbled in an instant upon hearing it. She didn't know what she should feel now. Happy? Sad? Or what? Irene couldn't be certain. What was clear, though, was that she couldn't even respond with words. Her facial expression couldn't convey the current state of her emotions."Is that true, Doctor? How far along is her pregnancy?" asked Magdalena, who seemed enthusiastic and proud of Irene's pregnancy.Irene turned her gaze towards Magdalena, looking at her face radiating pride towards Irene. Magdalena even went on to inquire about the age of Irene's pregnancy."It's been four weeks already, Ma'am," the female doctor said to Magdalena.Magdalena looked at Irene and exchanged a look with her. Irene herself didn't know how to respond. When Irene found out that her pregnancy was four weeks along, she recalled the night she spent with Adam
Meanwhile, on the other side...A man with a cold face and hardened jaw appeared lost in thought as he stared at the towering trees in front of him. As far as the eye could see, only the greenery from the leaves filled the scenery.Amid his silence, he was actually contemplating various matters in his mind, including Irene's reasons for leaving him abruptly without a trace."Was I too harsh on her that she left me without any word? It's been over four days now, and she still hasn't shown any sign of her whereabouts," he mused to himself. In fact, right when Irene left, Adam saw her injured foot quite clearly. For some reason, that sight triggered a surge of guilt within him. Perhaps that's why Adam allowed Irene to board a black car that drove her away.Adam cursed himself for letting Irene go, his gaze fixed on the departing car in the middle of the road, as rain began to fall, soaking his fur."I have to get her back..." Adam muttered, clenching his fist unconsciously.Suddenly, a m
Cliff chuckled upon hearing Adam suddenly inquire about something that had never piqued his curiosity before. Not to mention curiosity, even thinking to care was out of the question."Thibeult City? Are you referring to the modern city that no longer believes in werewolves?" Cliff asked, still chuckling and, truthfully, provoking Adam's irritation."Yes... what do you know about that city?" Adam asked, still attempting to control his emotions.Cliff pondered for a moment, then looked at Adam and grinned. "It's a vast city. Don't even attempt to reveal your werewolf identity if you still care about your werewolf group," Cliff replied and chuckled again.Adam sighed, closed his eyes slowly, then opened them again. "Irene ran away from home and went to Thibeult City," Adam stated.Upon hearing Adam's words, Cliff, who was about to sip his wine, abruptly halted and turned his face toward Adam."Irene? The human you've kept as a slave in your house under the guise of providing an heir?" Cl
After finishing her call with Joseph, Irene left the room, her thoughts still swirling with the revelation about Noah's werewolf lineage. As she stepped into the living area, she found Adam engrossed in a book. The room's warm ambiance provided a stark contrast to the cool and calculated atmosphere of the conversation Irene had just concluded.Adam looked up from his book, a gentle smile gracing his features. "Irene," he greeted, gesturing toward the plush sofa, "please, have a seat."Irene hesitated for a moment but then acquiesced, settling into the comfortable cushions. As she made herself comfortable, the scent of a delicious meal wafted through the air. The mansion's servants had prepared a spread on the dining table.Dinner was served in a silence that hung in the air, both Irene and Adam lost in their respective thoughts. The clinking of cutlery against plates filled the room, punctuating the quietude.Suddenly breaking the silence, Irene looked at Adam with a determined expres
The room, now a cocoon of guarded emotions, held within its walls the weight of revelations that transcended the mundane. Dr. Vaughan, the beacon of medical insight in this mystical realm, began to unravel the enigma that shrouded Noah's ailment."Noah's condition," Dr. Vaughan began, his tone measured, "stems from the unique nature of his werewolf lineage. Unlike typical werewolves, his werewolf side has not been touched by the energy of the full moon."Irene, her protective instincts flaring, interjected with a mix of disbelief and defiance. "Are you saying he needs to meet Lucian Hemmings to absorb the full moon's energy? Absolutely not!"Adam, acutely aware of the stakes, stepped in, suggesting a more private discourse with Irene. Dr. Vaughan, recognizing the delicate nature of the situation, excused himself, leaving the room in a hushed solemnity.Alone in the room, Adam and Irene stood on opposing shores of a heated debate. Adam, his expression grave, spoke with a calm determina
The journey to Boris City was swift yet laden with an air of uncertainty. The ambulance maneuvered through the city streets, eventually veering off into the outskirts, where the dense forest enveloped them. Adam, Noah, and Dr. Vaughan arrived at a secluded mansion that stood in stark contrast to the surrounding wilderness. The mansion, grand and luxurious, emerged from the woods like an unexpected oasis. The nurses accompanying them wore expressions of bewilderment, their confusion evident as they glanced around at the unusual sight. It was uncommon to find such opulence hidden within the Boris City woods.Noah, carefully cradled in their arms, was gently brought inside the mansion. The spacious and lavishly adorned interior seemed almost surreal against the backdrop of the forest. The nurses, perplexed by the peculiar setting, proceeded with caution, laying Noah in a grand room appointed with elegance.Expressing his gratitude, Adam thanked the nurses and accompanied them to the door
The morning sun painted soft hues across Thibeult City as Adam, ever vigilant, approached Noah's room. The previous day had seen shared laughter and a newfound connection between them, but as he opened the door, a hushed silence replaced the usual liveliness that accompanied Noah.Concern etched Adam's face as he observed Noah, who lay in bed, his small frame seemingly overwhelmed by the blankets. The vibrant energy that typically radiated from the young boy was replaced by a quiet stillness."Noah, how are you feeling?" Adam inquired gently, his voice conveying both care and worry.Noah, eyes half-closed, weakly mumbled, "Mr. Alpha, my head hurts, and I feel really hot."Adam's heart skipped a beat. Fever. Panic set in as he approached Noah's bedside. Swiftly retrieving a thermometer, Adam measured Noah's temperature, dread settling in as the numbers appeared on the screen—39 degrees. The urgency in Adam's voice was palpable as he reached for his phone. Dialing Irene's number, he anx
The sterile scent of the medical room lingered as Noah, a 10 year old with wide eyes and a mop of unruly hair, sat patiently. Dr. Vaughan, a werewolf specialist, prepared the equipment to draw a sample of Noah's blood. The room was adorned with medical paraphernalia, but the calming presence of Adam, known affectionately as Mr. Alpha, provided a sense of reassurance to Noah."Alright, Noah," Dr. Vaughan began, readying the needle, "this won't hurt much. Just a quick prick, and we'll be done."Noah nodded, his trust in Adam extending to the pack doctor. The needle pierced his skin, and a small vial filled with his blood. Noah, although a bit uneasy, maintained his composure, knowing that this examination was crucial for the werewolf pack's understanding of his heritage.Once the procedure was complete, Noah hopped off the examination table, glancing at the vial filled with his blood. Dr. Vaughan smiled warmly. "You did great, Noah. We'll have the results soon."As they exited the medic
Irene absorbed the weight of Joseph's revelations about the Hemmings werewolf pack, the conversation took an unexpected turn. Joseph, now seated across from her, hesitated before delving into a more personal narrative, one intertwined with his own family history."My father," Joseph began, his voice carrying the weight of years of solitude and rejection. "Theo Hemmings. He was a werewolf, and my mother, human. A union that was never accepted."Irene, her mind still swirling with the complexities of the werewolf pack's dynamics, listened intently as Joseph unraveled the story of his origins. He spoke of the challenges faced by a child born of both worlds, belonging to neither. The tale painted a picture of ostracism, of a young boy grappling with his identity in a world that deemed him an anomaly."I was never fully accepted, Irene," Joseph confessed, his eyes reflecting the scars of a tumultuous past. "The pack saw me as a threat, a reminder of a union they wished had never happened.
The sun hung low on the horizon as Irene drove along the scenic roads, the gentle hum of the car's engine blending harmoniously with the ambient sounds of nature. The air was filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers and the promise of a relaxing weekend ahead. Noah, Irene's vivacious 4 year old son, sat strapped into the back seat, his wide eyes eagerly taking in the passing landscape."Mom, where are we going?" Noah's voice, tinged with excitement, filled the car.Irene, her lips curved into a mysterious smile, glanced at Noah through the rearview mirror. "It's a surprise, sweetheart. You'll find out soon enough. It's a special place, just for us."Noah's eyes sparkled with curiosity, but before he could press further, Irene decided to broach a topic that had been lingering in her mind. With the winding roads stretching ahead, she turned to Noah, their shared anticipation floating in the car like a silent question."How would you feel if you had a father, Noah?" Irene's voice,
20 years ago…In the dimly lit human experimentation room, a hushed tension hung in the air, thick with an amalgamation of anticipation and scientific detachment. Within a specialized solution-filled tube, a 10-year-old boy lay in apparent serenity, his features betraying no sign of the peculiar circumstances surrounding him.A sharply dressed man entered the room, the click of his polished shoes echoing against the sterile walls. Approaching a doctor engrossed in monitoring the individual submerged in the tube, the man inquired with a calculated interest, "How is he doing?"The doctor, his attention momentarily diverted from the complex apparatus surrounding him, responded with a clinical demeanor, stating that the boy's condition was remarkably stable, considering his unique status as a crossbreed of human and werewolf.A smile played on the lips of the man in the sharp suit, a certain satisfaction evident in his demeanor. He leaned in slightly, a glint of intrigue in his eyes, and
The night enveloped Joseph's home in a gentle embrace as he stepped out of his room. The soft glow of the moon spilled through the curtains, casting a silvery hue on the familiar surroundings. Joseph, feeling the tranquility of the night, decided to make his way to the kitchen, guided by the subtle creaks of the wooden floor beneath his steps. The kitchen, bathed in a dim light, welcomed him with a sense of quiet familiarity. The hum of the refrigerator was a constant companion as Joseph opened its door, revealing a world of culinary possibilities. His fingers grazed the cool interior as he selected a bottle of mineral water, its condensation a testament to the refreshing chill within.Pouring the water into a glass, Joseph took a sip, savoring the crispness that quenched his thirst. The sensation was invigorating, a simple pleasure heightened by the stillness of the night. As he wiped his lips with the back of his hand, his gaze fell upon a furry figure bounding towards him.Goldie,
