"Duzeill has fallen asleep."

Serena walked towards him from the bed where their child was peacefully sleeping.

Ezekiel had just finished showering. He was only wearing a black bathrobe as he sat on the couch.

"I'll do it." Serena took the white towel from his hand to dry his hair.

He was startled by her actions and behavior, but he let her be. He had never experienced his wife doing this for him before.

He could smell her natural scent because of their close proximity. He lifted his arm to hold her waist and pulled her closer to him. He then caught a whiff of her fragrance, which grew stronger when he smelled her neck.

This spot was very addictive, he thought.

"How was work?" Serena didn't react to that; instead, she asked him while gently drying his hair. "I'm sure you're tired."

"The business is still going well." He secretly smiled. "I'm fine now. Now that I'm with my woman."

Serena stopped what she was doing and looked into his eyes as she held both of his cheeks and tilted his he

"C-Come again? What did you just say?"Ezekiel thought for sure he was just hearing things. But because he was used to always hoping, he couldn't let go of the wrong words he heard. He pulled Serena closer, almost embracing her as she remained perched on his thighs. He looked at her desperately, wanting to hear the words he had just misheard. He held one hand of his wife and gently caressed it, as if coaxing. There was a pleading sparkle in his eyes.Serena swallowed her saliva and bit her lower lip, and her face came very close to his! His eyes widened as Serena suddenly kissed him on the lips.Without hesitation, he responded. As he deepened the kiss, Serena also pulled away from him. When he looked at his wife, tears were already brimming in the corners of her eyes. He wiped them away with concern before they could fall."W-What's wrong? I'm sorry, I-I didn't mean to..." he explained, even though he didn't know why he was apologizing."Y-You heard it right, Ezekiel..." she sniffled

"Ma'am SERENA, Sir Ezekiel! Did you two bite each other so much that your eyes are so swollen?!" Panying's eyes widened in surprise as she looked at the two of us the next morning.Neither of us had slept because of the crying that happened last night. It seemed like not only our eyes were swollen but also our noses and lips.Ezekiel's fingers tightened around my hand. Duziell, who had just woken up and was unaware of what was happening, was cradled in his left arm."What do you want to eat for breakfast, my wife?" Ezekiel gently woke me up.I pursed my lips to hold back a smile. "Anything is fine; I can eat anything.""Well, try eating me then," he said in a low voice.I raised an eyebrow and playfully hit his arm. "Crazy!""Ouch," he said, acting like he was hurt, even though his voice clearly showed that he didn't feel anything.I couldn't help but raise the corners of my lips. "I'll try later..."His face immediately brightened. His beautiful smile flashed. "Really?""Yes." I felt

"Hello! You look familiar?" a shy but courageous girl approached me, accompanied by others behind her. "Sorry, but you really look like Serena Laurel! Do you know Serena Laurel?""Oh my gosh! It might be her!""The camera! That's Serena Laurel!"Before I could answer, they quickly took out their cellphones and aimed their cameras at me.I smiled sweetly at them. "After three years, huh? There are still people who recognize me?""Kyaaah!!" That was their cue to scream and rush to take pictures.Compared to China, where no one recognizes Serena Laurel, here in the country, people immediately recognize me. I couldn't help but feel delighted and give them permission to take photos."Easy now, everyone," Ramil warned beside me. He blocked them and gave stern looks to those who tried to get too close. "We'll be in trouble with our boss. Just pictures, no touching, especially no hugs!"I didn't expect that more people would approach and recognize me. I felt embarrassed and hesitant, but I co

Everyone in the mansion was busy under my command, which Ezekiel occasionally joined. Most of the time, he allowed me to make decisions and do as I pleased, and he was happy with that idea. And, of course, I was probably the happiest."Davina, since you have a big build, why don't you carry that old sofa out of the mansion? Don't just throw it in the trash because it's not broken or dirty. Maybe one of the workers would like to have it, so just display it outside and offer it to them," I instructed her confidently. Her expression contorted. "Ma'am Serena, that's the job of our male workers, to do the heavy lifting. Why did Sir Heskel hire them if I'm just going to take over their job?"I raised an eyebrow. "Well, I want you to do it. You have a strong physique, so you can definitely handle it!"I wanted to laugh at the look on her face. But I played the role of an arrogant person."Ma'am Serena, I don't think it's appropriate.""Ezekiel!! This maid is disobeying me!" I shouted loudly t

"Serena! I'm so glad you're alive and safe!" Haleanna almost cried when we saw each other for the first time after almost half a year! "Thank God you're alive!""No, thank you for being alive!" I hugged her tightly, tears welling up in my eyes.I was truly scared at the thought that something bad had happened to her because of Ezekiel; the worst of all is if she gets killed. But thankfully, my husband didn't bring me down!"How are you??" We asked each other simultaneously, like fools examining each other from head to toe.We both breathed a sigh of relief when we saw that there were no wounds or injuries on our bodies.Haleanna took care of Duziell during the times when Brantley and I were constantly arguing and fighting. I often hid my child with her, keeping it a secret from that man.I am also very grateful that she was there because otherwise, Brantley would have likely taken Duziell away from me, and who knows what he would have done to my innocent child?"How about you, Hal? "Are you so happy with your friends that you're forgetting about me now?" Ezekiel greeted me as soon as I stepped into our new bedroom.I couldn't help but laugh as I lay on top of him. "What kind of nonsense is that, Ezekiel?""What? You've been with them from morning till night. Your son and I need attention too.""Oh, come on!" I exclaimed. "We're together in bed every day and every night. That's enough. Fine, I'll strip you naked."I was about to remove his top pajamas when he covered them with his arms, leaving me staring at him."Oh, why?""You only want my body, not me. This is off-limits tonight."I chuckled and pouted. "How dare you! I'm here to serve you tonight, and you're refusing."He rolled his eyes at me before closing his eyes. "Stop disturbing me now. I'm sleepy."I struggled to hold back my laughter, my ears itching to burst from the effort, while he pretended to snore.Since we just opened our new bedroom, it was only fitting that we indulge in pleasure tonight. The next morning, loud screams greeted me. I immediately embraced Duziell tightly around my neck."What's happening here?" I angrily exclaimed in a low voice that echoed around them. "Didn't I strictly forbid any fighting or shouting inside the mansion?"I gave Davina, Barbara, and Eza a stern look. Immediately, Haleanna and Freya approached me. They all had messy hair and wrinkled uniforms."Serena, why do these three women have such behavior? Is it right for you and your husband to be gossiped about inside your own home? They're saying all sorts of things! I'm sorry, but it's annoying. I feel like slapping their faces!" Hal knew that Duziell had a trauma with loud noises, so even though he looked eager to speak up, he lowered his voice to calm him down."Gossip? Do you think it's just gossip? You, the newcomer, are even trying to please that 'senyorita'! You don't know anything! That woman is juggling two men shamelessly! And she even had a child outside of marriage—""You've gone to

But I also couldn't help but be delighted. That kind of screaming and applause was something I hadn't heard in a long time. I admit, I missed the feeling of being embraced by it.This feels nostalgic! I waved to the audience, and they started buzzing with excitement."Oh my god! You look like an ang

Hahaha!""Seriously! He's brave when it comes to others, but he's weak when it comes to you. He fainted because of the stress and fear of seeing you in pain. He hasn't slept because he was nervous about your labor. Poor guy."Serena couldn't stop laughing despite her exhaustion and weakness due to Ezekiel's scene. "My poor love.""I'm fine!" We were at the beach with Ezekiel, watching Duziell play with Halaenna, Freya, Panying, and Danilo in the distance, accompanied by three guards secretly keeping watch. We were resting and enjoying the hot weather. Ezekiel leaned back in his chair, his eyes fixed on his father's lawyer, Samson, waiting for his response. The old lawyer, Samson, had been his father's trusted legal advisor for many years. They were discussing the final will and testament of Ezekiel's late father, which contained the key to dividing the family's substantial wealth."As the rightful heir, I expect to inherit the majority of my father's wealth, as stated in the document. However, there is an additional matter I would like to address."The old man adjusted his glasses and nodded attentively. "Of course, Ezekiel. Please continue."He continued, "According to the will, my stepmother, Elizabeth, who has already passed away, is entitled to a portion of the inheritance. However, given what happened, I believe that those rights should now be transferred to me."The lawyer nodded, paying attention to Ezekiel's request. "I understand your perspective, Ezekiel. Ezekiel entered the underground basement. From a distance, the smell of blood permeated the familiar place, but it no longer affected him."Open the cell," he commanded Ramil, who promptly obeyed. As the cell door opened, he made his way inside. The two individuals he intentionally sought out were not immediately visible. He had to walk a few meters before finding them.Meanwhile, the people imprisoned in the cells on the sides were filled with anguish and pleaded to be set free. Those arrogant and brutal criminals were now acting like victims, always begging for his mercy whenever they saw him. This was the side of him he never wanted Serena to understand. He knew that Serena already knew about this organization. However, he wanted to keep it a secret and bury it along with the people inside. This was a place where he only encountered his own brutality and mercilessness towards those who once mocked, insulted, and threatened his life. There was nothing here but a nightmare."Brother?

"Don't worry, Mrs. Serena, your child is in good condition. Thankfully, the wound on his neck isn't deep. However, due to the severity of the cut, it will leave a scar. I recommend an ointment to speed up the healing process. As for why he is still unconscious, it's because of the sedative he was forced to take. But it's nothing to worry about; his breathing is perfectly fine, just like he's in a deep sleep."My mind slowly calmed down after hearing the doctor's words. I took a deep breath and turned to Duziell, who was still peacefully sleeping, unaffected by his injury. The tension in my body from what happened still lingered as I slumped in the chair next to Duziell's bed."Thank you, Doc." I expressed my gratitude. It wasn't easy for him to wake up in the early hours to do his job. Fortunately, the mansion is only a three- to five-minute drive from his house."You're welcome. If you have any more questions or if there's anything else I can do, I'll respond immediately.""Thank you

The messy bed greeted him, but his son was not there, where Serena had put him to sleep."Where the heck did they go?"
