It’s been three long years since Bella’s disappearance. I searched for her everywhere. I didn’t want to believe that she disappeared just like that.

I despised her for the longest period. I loved Athena. Athena made me feel wonderful, she loved me for myself, and most importantly she was submissive and emotional. She praised me to the highs for the littlest of things. Bella, on the other hand, was always indifferent, she would cause problems all the time. And was very selfish. But for some reason, I had never felt lonelier since Bella left.

I snapped out of my thoughts—I had a meeting with my business rival. Jesse Hart. He had wealth, power, and connections to the underground alliance, one of the most powerful alliances across the country. He had tried to snatch some of my business deals. But now, he suddenly reached out to me to collaborate. I wondered what he was trying to do now.

I stepped into the meeting room, my eyes wandering as I observed my surroundings—until they landed on her. My heart stopped.

I hadn't seen her in three years, hadn't heard anything about her, yet for some reason she was right in front of me wearing a formal jumpsuit that highlighted her curves. Her beautiful red hair was now much longer than before. She used to always wear clothes that didn’t fit her quite well—all because I told her I loved my women well-covered. But now, she had an unrestrained aura, so different from the timid girl I had once known.

I stepped forward, calling to her. “Bella, what are you doing here?”

She didn’t flinch. Instead, she met my gaze with a distant, polite smile that cut deeper than any glare.

“Mr. Stone,” she said evenly, her voice devoid of the warmth I once knew. “You’re just in time.”

My chest tightened as I tried to comprehend what I was seeing. She had always hated addressing me too formally—she would call me ‘hubby’ no matter how many times I told her to stop. How was she even here in the first place?

“Ah, Julius,” Jesse’s voice broke the tension as he stood, placing a casual but protective hand on Bella’s shoulder. “I see you’ve noticed my fiancée.”

The word hit me like a punch to the gut.

"Fiance?" I went back, hardly keeping my voice steady.

“Yes,” Jesse replied smoothly. “Bella has been my partner in business for years. It’s only natural that our relationship would deepen.”

Bella didn’t look at me, didn’t acknowledge my presence beyond that initial greeting. She picked up a folder, flipping it open as though I was nothing to her.

“Shall we get started? We have a lot to discuss.”

I wanted to respond, to demand answers, but the meeting had already begun before I could find the words.

The discussion around the table flowed, but I barely heard a word. My mind raced—a storm of questions and memories. How was she here? Where has she been all these while?

“Mr. Julius?” my secretary whispered, nudging me gently. “Are you alright?”

I blinked, forcing myself to focus.

“Yes, let’s continue,” I muttered, though my voice betrayed me.

Across the table, Athena’s gaze burned into me. She had sensed the change in my composed exterior. Her discomfort was clear as I saw her eyes move between Bella and me.

The meeting ended, and I didn’t waste another second. As everyone dispersed, I marched toward Bella, emotions boiling over—anger, frustration, pain, and fear.

But before I could say anything, Jesse stepped in again, his hand still on her shoulder.

“I trust everything is clear, Julius?” he said smoothly. “We’ll leave now—Bella gets tired easily. I’m looking forward to our next meeting to finalize the collaboration.”

I stood there, speechless, as they walked away together.

My mind kept on spinning. I left the room trying to catch up to them. I needed to talk to Bella, no matter what.

Athena caught up to me, she tried to grab my arm.

“Julius!” she snapped. “We need to talk.”

“Not now, Athena,” I said sharply, trying to push past her.

She stepped in front of me, blocking my path. “No, we’re doing this now. How is she alive? Why is she here?”

I clenched my jaw, trying to control my frustration. “I have no idea.”

Athena’s voice rose, anger and desperation mingling. “No idea? Don’t insult me, Julius. Bella just shows up out of the blue, and you act so lost and confused during the meeting when all you should feel is anger. Don’t forget—she killed your child!”

I froze, her words were like a slap across the face.

“I haven’t forgotten,” I said, trying to calm down.

Athena’s eyes flashed with anger . “Then don’t act like you don’t remember! She pushed me down those stairs—deliberately. I lost our baby because of her!”

Memories found their way to the surface—the shouting, the fall, the blood.

“Don’t forget what she did,” Athena continued, her voice trembling now. “Our child would still be alive if it weren’t for her!”

I pressed my fingers to my temples, trying to block out her words, trying to think clearly.

Athena’s voice softened, turning almost pleading. “Don’t let her manipulate you again. She’s always been this way. I just knew she wasn’t dead because, tell me, how did they not find the body no matter what?”

I couldn’t listen anymore. Without another word, I pushed past her, headed to my office instead, and slammed the door, locking it behind me. My chest heaved as I sank into my chair, my head in my hands.

Bella.

What happened to you all these years? How did you just appear as my business rival’s fiancée? And why now?

After Athena left, her words kept replaying in my mind. I knew I had to stay focused and not let emotions affect my decisions. I picked up my phone and called my head of security.

“I want a full report on Jesse Hart,” I said coldly. “Dig into his finances, his connections—everything. And find out how Bella became his fiancée. I don’t care how long it takes—just get it done.”

“Yes, sir,” came the quick response, and the call ended.

I leaned back in my chair, staring at the ceiling. Nothing was adding up. Just what happened all those years?

My bodyguard quickly called back.

“Sir, someone’s blocking the information on Jesse Hart intentionally. But we found something strange.”

“What is that?” I asked.

“Jesse Hart has been charged with first-degree murder before. But he was later found innocent due to lack of evidence.”

“Who did he kill?”

“His sister.”

I stiffened.

“What’s even stranger is that there’s no record of him ever having a sister—nor of his parents. It’s almost as if he came out of nowhere.”

I gritted my teeth. “Investigate more. Ask for help from the underground if you must—I must find out everything.”

My grip on the phone tightened.

Bella must be mine again.

After we got back to the penthouse— We decided to have a drink in my room to celebrate the beginning of our plans. He sat on the edge of the bed, swirling the last of his drink in his glass, a smirk tugging at his lips. “You handled him well today. I'm proud of you,” he said, raising his glass in a faux toast. I took a slow sip, feeling the bubbles tingle on my tongue. “I wanted to hurt him badly the minute I saw him,” I replied, my expression neutral, though inside, I was still raging. Jesse chuckled and set his glass down on the nightstand. “Still, you played your part perfectly. But tell me, Athena… Do you still love him?” My body stiffened, and I blinked my eyes, my heart skipping. “That’s none of your business.” “I think it is,” Jesse said, his voice dropping, his expression changing slightly. “This whole plan depends on you keeping your emotions in check. If Julius still has a hold on you…” I felt the anger swelling inside me, but I pushed it down. “I stopped loving Ju

I hardly had time to absorb the dread crawling up my spine before Julius crossed the room in two fast steps, right to where I was standing. His presence devoured the air between us; the room felt so suffocating. It had been so long since we were last alone, just like this. Before I could step back, his hands were already on me, gripping my waist with a sense of urgency that sent my pulse racing. His scent—chocolate and oud as always—I could smell it all around me, making it impossible for me to think clearly. Then, as he leaned in even closer, his lips brushed against my ear, his breath hot against my skin, sending an involuntary shiver down my spine.“Bella,” he murmured, his voice heavy with longing. “You don’t know how much I’ve missed you.”His words filled with suffering and hopelessness, coiled around me like a plea.“Come back to me. Please.”His lips wandered around my cheek before eventually finding mine—hot, urgent, and utterly consuming. It was a very demanding kiss… It did

When Luke brought in the food, Jesse took a spoonful and moved it toward my lips. I instinctively pulled back, shaking my head slightly. “I can eat by myself,” I protested. Jesse’s expression remained calm but firm. “Your arm,” he reminded me. “You can’t eat by yourself in this condition.” I hesitated for a moment, glancing at my injured arm. Before I could respond, Daniel, who had been watching with an unimpressed expression, muttered under his breath, "She can still eat with the other arm, you know." He let out an exaggerated sigh before coughing and saying, "Alright, I suddenly have a lot of work to do. I’ll be back later to run the tests." He had no plans of sitting through the unbearable display of affection. Being reminded of how single and lonely he was? No, thank you. Without another word, he quickly left the room. Jesse, completely ignoring his actions, continued to feed me. I eventually gave in, taking each spoonful without protest. After I finished, he took a few

Julius leaned forward, his voice low and venomous. “No, Bella. It’s all true. Jesse’s sister, Emma.” I shook my head in disbelief, unable to process what he was saying. “This doesn’t make sense. Jesse would never—”Julius cut me off with a harsh laugh. “You still don’t get it, do you? I’ve got the evidence. And so do you now.”He brought out another folder and gave it to me. Inside were more documents—police reports, coroner’s photos, and a handwritten confession. I flipped through them in a daze. Each piece was more damning than the last. My mind felt foggy, the words swimming in front of my eyes. The confession was chilling.I slammed the papers back onto the table, my breath coming in ragged gasps. “No. This isn’t true. You’re just trying to manipulate me, Julius. Why? What do you want from me?”“You think this is manipulation? You think I’m the bad guy here? I’m trying to protect you, Bella. The investors leaned forward slightly, intrigued. I smiled inwardly, knowing they were now hooked.I zoomed in on the global map. “Here, we can see live data streams from multiple international sources, processing billions of transactions per second. This is real-time data aggregation from diverse sectors—finance, health, retail, government. It doesn’t just sit in one database. It integrates seamlessly into various networks worldwide.”I glanced at their faces—curiosity was beginning to replace skepticism. The woman in the navy-blue suit, who had been the most critical so far, raised an eyebrow. “Live data? So this system adapts dynamically?”“Exactly,” I said, clicking through to another screen. “But it’s not just about gathering data. It’s about interpreting it. This is an AI-powered engine that learns from every interaction. The more it works, the smarter it gets. Predictive algorithms adjust in real-time to forecast market trends, consumer behavior, even weather patterns.”I could

The representatives were gathering their briefcases and standing up.“Gentlemen, please,” I said, desperate now. “Give me until tomorrow. I promise I’ll have this fixed.”One of them raised a brow. “You expect us to delay international schedules because your system is unprepared?”“Unprepared? No,” I shook my head. “Sabotaged.”Their expressions shifted slightly—but not with sympathy. Disappointment. Annoyance.“Mr. Julius,” the lead representative said, “this was your opportunity to show us your technology. And unfortunately… this has been a complete waste of our time.”They filed out one after the other, their silence louder than an

The moment I saw the news explode across every gossip site, I knew the bomb had landed perfectly. Our lips met—fierce, deep, and trembling with everything we couldn’t say in words. Jesse pulled me closer, like he wanted to merge our souls together. His hands cradled my face as he kissed me again and again, like he needed to be sure I was really his now. I wasn’t even sure when I ended up in his lap, my arms wrapped tightly around his neck, but I didn’t care. The world outside faded. There was only us.He rested his forehead against mine, our breaths mingling, eyes locked.“You have no idea how long I’ve waited to hear you say yes,” he whispered, brushing a kiss across my cheek, then my jaw. “I don’t think I’ve ever wanted anything this much in my life.”I smiled, my voice still shaky. “You already have me, Jesse. You have me now, baby.”He kissed me softly again, this time slower, deeper—full of promises and quiet devotion. Then he stood up with me still in his arms and spun me around, laughing as I clung to him.“Careful!” I gasped through a giggle.“I can’t help it,” he grinned.

It was a strange kind of beauty—otherworldly, like we’d fallen into a dream that didn’t want to end.I stretched under the silky sheets, feeling the warmth of Jesse beside me before I even opened my eyes.“Good morning, Mrs. Roberts,” his voice was a smooth rumble against my neck, lips brushing my skin.“Mmm,” I mumbled, still drowsy. “Stop calling me that. Her name tag read Elsa.“Sir,” she said, her voice low and sultry. “I’ve brought extra towels for your evening comfort.”“Just leave them by the door,” Jesse replied without looking at her.But Elsa didn’t move toward the door.
