Rena’s POV.

I paced back and forth, biting my nails. The chaotic beating of my heart rhymed with the mess floating on my mind.

It was unbelievable. Not only was Soni my savior's daughter, but she had the nerve to discredit me in front of her dad. She wouldn't even let me speak. She claimed she didn't know me, but she couldn't accept me as her mother, because I might be younger than her.

That bitch wanted me out of their lives...

"Tsssp!"

The sudden pain in my finger made me suck air through my teeth. Glancing at my shopped nails, I sighed. I'd bitten more nails than necessary, and it throbbed in protest. A tiny pinch of blood appeared on the spot.

“Soni…”

The pain in my finger wasn't enough to deter me from seething with rage. My teeth clenched, fury clouding my judgement.

“... you want to hide your dark side from your dad, isn't it?” Malice flashed through my eyes, my lips curled into a sinister smile. “Let's see how you do that.”

The door burst open, startling me back to real

Rena’s POV. He stayed silent, staring into the depth of my eyes. “I hate lies, Rena.” My eyes shook. I tried to maintain eye contact but failed. His gaze was cold now, extremely cold. He tried to peel me away but I held tightly, refusing to let go. “I'm scared, please don't throw me out. My fate will be worse.” My eyes stung with tears. “Please...” “What's your relationship with Soni?” He suddenly asked, his thumb gently brushing my tears away. I swallowed, deciding to tell him everything. He might do a background check on me, and if there's any discrepancy in my story, he'll know I lied, so I calmly told him everything Roland and Soni did to me. As I finished speaking, the silence between us was oppressive, heavy with unspoken emotions. I dared a glance at him, searching for any sign of belief or skepticism. But I found none. His expression was still, his eyes fixed on me with an unnerving intensity. I felt like he was seeing right through me, to the very soul of me. And then,

  • Snatched By The Don: My Enemy's Father    What's this feeling?

Kaan’s POV. Every time I saw her, she was always in one trouble or the other. Two years ago, on a business trip to the US, I saw her running across the street, wearing a black backpack. She almost got hit by my car. Frantically apologizing, she dashed into an alleyway. Such an insignificant incident shouldn't have meant anything to me, but for some reason, it did. Maybe it was the desperation in her eyes, or the way she seemed to be constantly looking over her shoulder. Whatever it was, it stuck with me, and I found myself wondering about her, long after our brief encounter. Who was she, and what kind of life was she living? And why did I care? For days, I couldn't get the thought of her out of my mind. She was a stunning beauty, just around twenty years old, Soni's age mate. But her beauty wasn't what captivated me. I'm not one to be swayed by pretty faces. I've seen my fair share of beautiful women, more beautiful than she could ever be. And I've never been one to get caug

Kaan’s POV. But when I thought she couldn't get herself into more trouble, I saw her a few moments later, caged with barely anything on. I felt a surge of possessiveness and anger, one that I'd never felt in a long time. My eyes narrowed, and my jaw clenched as I took in the sight of her, exposed and vulnerable. The urge to protect her, to claim her as my own, was overwhelming. I felt a growl rising up in my throat as I scanned the room, my gaze locking onto the men who were leering at her, bidding for her. Our eyes locked. Her gaze pleaded for me to save her, but I didn't. Instead, I sat there, my eyes locked on hers as I struggled to reconcile the conflicting emotions warring within me. Her plea for help hung in the air, a silent accusation that I was abandoning her to her fate. But I couldn't care less, or so I thought. I was a man bound by my own rules, my own code of conduct. And yet, as I looked into her eyes, I felt a crack in my armor. Annoyed, I left the hall, feelin

Kaan’s POV. But she didn't continue, embarrassed. Instead, she went for my belt, slowly taking it off. If she could dig a hole to disappear, she would. Her fingers trembled. She was cute, bashful, and innocent, which added to her allure. I couldn't help but toy with her, to push her boundaries and see how she would react. Her trembling fingers and downcast eyes only made me more intrigued, more determined to see just how far I could push her. She fixed her gaze on my face as she pulled my trousers down. My eyes narrowed slightly. I found myself hating to see her look away from my body. I wanted her to do to me what she was fantasizing, yet I didn't want to touch her. It was a strange, conflicting desire, one that I couldn't quite explain. “What's your name?” I found myself asking. “Rena,” she replied. Rena… the name sounded musical, lyrical, and it suited her perfectly. There was something delicate, something fragile about the way the syllables rolled off her tongu

  • Snatched By The Don: My Enemy's Father    The road will be challenging henceforth

Kaan’s POV. Surprises… I hate surprises, and that was what they did. Soni and Rena surprised me. Another surprise awaited me when I entered her room. She kissed me. Her lips felt soft and warm, a gentle caress that sent a spark of electricity through my entire body. I felt a sudden jolt of surprise, my mind reeling as I struggled to process what was happening. No one touched me without my permission, no one kissed me without my consent. And yet, here she was, her lips pressed against mine, sending shivers down my spine. I was caught off guard, and for a moment, I didn't know how to react. My face darkened. I wasn't angry at her, in fact, I wanted more of it, and that irked me. “I…” she tried to speak, but her voice failed her. She looked scared. “Rena,” I breathed. The sound of my voice seemed to snap her out of her trance-like state, and she took a step back, and I followed, until she hit the wall. Her eyes widened with fear, probably thinking I would hurt her. My eyes lo

Rena’s POV. When he accepted my terms, I was happy, elated even. I leaned in to kiss him but he gripped my chin gently. The smile on his lips sent a chill down my spine, reminding me that this man wasn't a regular guy. He wasn't my playboy ex-boyfriend, Roland. "Not so fast, little kitten," he whispered, his breath dancing across my lips, making them quiver with excitement. "You're not going to get everything you want that easily.”My heart dropped, the excitement I felt evaporated. He's warning me, telling me how challenging it's going to get henceforth. But I wasn't going to give up. I pulled back and smiled, “I'm not afraid of challenges." A slow smile spread across his face, and he leaned in closer, his voice taking on a low, husky tone. "We'll see about that, little kitten,” he patted my head before walking out. I wanted to tell him I wasn't a child, but the words got stuck in my throat. I liked when he patted my head. I liked how he made me feel like a child. It was weirdly

Rena’s POV. I could see the murderous intent written all over her. She could beat the crap out of me, but I was ready for that. It would be of help to draw her father's sympathy. I nodded slowly, my eyes locked on hers, and a small, cruel smile played on my lips. "Yes. I did…” I paused, my heart was suddenly pounding faster and for a moment, I thought I might have gone too far. Soni's face slowly twisted in a snarl, her eyes blazing with unchecked fury. She took a step closer to me, her fists clenched at her sides, and I could see the muscles in her arms tensed and ready to strike. I swallowed hard, my heart racing with anticipation and dread, still, I didn't stop. "And I have to say, he was... quite satisfying.”Bang! The blow to my jaw was swift and merciless, sending me crashing to the floor the second time. I saw stars as my head spun, and for a moment, I couldn't catch my breath. They fooled me, deceived me, used me, sold me, and killed my mom, the only family I have, and you tell me not to provoke your daughter?" I gripped the sheets tightly, trying hard to supress my disbelief and disappointment. “You rescued me. I thought you meant to protect me. You're supposed to be my protector, my guardian, but instead you're defending her, the person who tried to kill me. What about me? What about my feelings? Don't I deserve to be protected, to be loved?" I cried, my body shaking with sobs. The more I thought about it, the more unfair it was. His gaze didn't waver, his expression unreadable. His palm fell gently on my head, soothing my hair again. I tried to move away, but his palm pressed down on head. “Why did you tell her you slept with me?” He suddenly asked, but he wasn't angry. His voice was calm and surprisingly soothing. I clenched my teet

Kaan ~He holed up in a countryside villa near Caltanissetta, surrounded by luxury and fools. It was almost funny. He always thought money made him untouchable. Now, he hid behind marble walls while my soldiers scale them like wolves. We breach the gates in under three minutes.I stormed the hall myself – gun in one hand, machete in the other. Pablo’s men scatter like insects. I killed three before they could blink. Matteo dropped the guards near the staircase. Blood slicked the floors. Screams echoed off the high ceilings.Pablo tried to run but I seized him by the throat. He said a lot of jargon, but I only asked one question:“Who went after my family?”Without hesitation, he gave her up. “Alessia! It– It was her doing. I tried to talk her out of –”I drove the machete through his chest. I didn't care about his nonsense. I watched the horror in his eyes, the regret, and remorse. But it was too late. Kaan~I was halfway to Catania when the call came in.One ring.Two.Then silence. It wasn’t unusual. Not for men like me. Sometimes silence was safer. Cleaner. But something in my gut twisted the wrong way. Something colder than instinct, sharper than a blade. I stared out the window of the moving car, watching Sicily blur past. Then the second phone rang – the one no one was supposed to use, except one person. I picked it up immediately.“Soni?”Her voice was cracked glass. Choked with dust. “D– Dad…?”My blood froze. “Talk.”“They bombed it. The villa. It's – it’s all gone.”Everything stopped. My lungs. My pulse. The world. “What?”“I got her out. B– but Rena…. She… she's receiving medical care. We’re in the tunnels now.”“Turn the car around!” I barked the order. My driver didn’t even ask. Rena~I knew something was wrong. When he kissed my forehead and my stomach, I was awake. But I didn't stop him from leaving. I knew it was important. I knew that to build a safe haven for our child, he needed to weed the poison out of the roots first.Still, when the door clicked shut and his footsteps faded into silence, my chest felt hollow.I rolled onto my side, placing a protective hand over my still-flat belly as I strained myself to get the note he left for me. It was a lullaby. I chuckled despite myself, because I couldn't tell if it was for me or our baby. But either way, I read it aloud, softly, my voice cracking with emotion."Little light in darkest night,Rest your soul, the world’s alright.Though I walk through storms and flame,My heart returns when you whisper my name."I pressed the paper to my lips, breathing in his scent faintly lingering on it. The tears came quickly - warm and silent - because it was for both of us. And because I knew what it meant. He was walk

Even after I was discharged from the hospital, he didn't touch me, afraid he'd hurt me. But it's been almost two weeks and I couldn't wait anymore. “You didn’t lose count?” His lips curled, his nose brushing against mine. “No. I carved each one into my bones.” The sound of his belt leaving his trousers as I pulled filled the air. He thought peace could be bought with threats and forced surrender.I chuckled. The fool didn’t know we were already sharpening the knives, waiting impatiently to butcher him. The general meeting ended at dusk with Kaan’s agreement for a ceasefire, rebuilding the city, and unity for Sicily’s sake. The mayor looked like he'd die if Kaan didn't agree. And when the idiot did, the Mayor was like a newlywed, married for love. Stupid. It was comical. Kaan looked smug when Alessia stood and bowed her head to him, declaring surrender, begging him not to hurt her clan. What a performance, what a laughable joke. Everything made me laugh. Honestly, I couldn't stop laughing, even now. That bitch played him. She baited him. And the so-called almighty Kaan fell for it. “Hahahaha…!… We met an hour later in an abandoned stone chapel on the outskirts of Trapani. The per
