Sierra closed her eyes as she turned to see Mr. Smith standing there—looking at her and Axton in an entirely inappropriate situation for a boss and his secretary.

Sierra pulled her hand away from Axton, who finally let go. She stepped back, creating the proper distance that should always exist between a boss and a secretary.

"Can I have a copy of today’s meeting documents? I need to review them further," the man asked, without acknowledging the awkwardness of the situation.

Sierra wasn’t sure whether to feel relieved or guilty.

"Of course, Mr. Smith. I’ll send the report to you," Axton replied. "If I may ask, could I send the report directly to you without going through your secretary?"

Axton had clearly lost his mind.

Sierra cleared her throat, giving Axton a signal to stop whatever he was about to say.

"Is there a problem, Mr. Scott?"

"No, none at all," Axton replied, shaking his head.

Sierra sighed in relief.

"It’s just that I noticed your secretary often makes things difficult for Sierra and blames her for our meeting schedules. That’s why Sierra and I were arguing earlier. She didn’t want me to bring this up to you, but I can’t let my employee be treated unfairly like that."

This man had truly gone mad.

"Is that true, Sierra?" Mr. Smith frowned.

Sierra felt as if Axton had handed her a live grenade, leaving her to choose between setting it off or letting it explode in her hand.

She’d create trouble for Mr. Smith’s secretary if she told the truth. But denying it would embarrass Axton.

"I think there’s been a misunderstanding about what happened and what Mr. Scott overheard," Sierra said, glancing briefly at Axton. "There was a minor issue between us, but I’m confident we can resolve it because we both understand our jobs well."

"Oh?" Mr. Smith raised an eyebrow. "This is the first time I’ve heard someone say anything good about my secretary, especially when everyone else—Damian included—always complains about her."

Sierra maintained a professional smile.

"Then perhaps you should start listening to those complaints, Mr. Smith," Axton interjected.

Sierra turned to Axton, utterly incredulous.

He was completely insane.

***

Sierra walked briskly toward the private elevator, accessible only to certain employees—specifically those who worked directly with Axton. She pressed the button and stepped inside, followed by Axton.

Neither of them said anything after what Axton had told Mr. Smith.

Sierra was at a loss for words and had no desire to discuss anything.

Time seemed to drag on, and Sierra hated it.

"Yes, Damian?" she said, frowning as she answered a call. She couldn’t ignore it, knowing Damian’s persistence.

"Hey, I’ve sent you several messages, and you haven’t read any of them. My uncle said you’re working today. Is that true?"

Sierra glanced at her watch, realizing she still needed to accompany Axton to an important meeting at a hotel quite far from the office. If they didn’t leave soon, they’d be late.

"Yes, I’m working. I’m really busy right now, Damian. I’ll reply to your messages when I’m no longer swamped, okay?" Sierra grimaced.

"Wow, your job keeps you busier than mine, and it’s frustrating."

"Maybe you should give your secretary a raise, then."

"Shit!" Damian cursed. "Do you have time for lunch today? I’m near your office. How about I bring you lunch so you don’t have to go anywhere?"

The elevator chimed, and Sierra let Axton exit first before following him.

"I’ll probably have lunch outside the office in an hour because of an important meeting at a hotel. Thanks for the offer, but maybe next time."

"You’re rejecting me, and it’s breaking my heart."

Sierra rolled her eyes and took her seat at her desk after Axton entered his room. She had at least ten minutes before they needed to leave and wanted to use that time to relax for a moment.

"Congratulations on your heartbreak, then."

"You’re a cold-blooded woman."

"I’m not a bird, so it’s normal for me to be cold-blooded."

"Damn. Fine, how about dinner?"

Sierra frowned. "You’re starting to sound like you’re asking me out, and I hope that’s not the case."

"You’re seriously rejecting me, huh?"

"Exactly," Sierra said, almost laughing.

The door to Axton’s office opened, and Sierra immediately straightened up.

"We’re leaving now, Sierra," Axton said, heading toward the elevator.

Sierra blinked in surprise.

Damn it. She wasn’t ready—she hadn’t even fixed her makeup.

"Should I just come to your place so you can’t reject me? You know I still feel bad about yesterday."

"You know what? I have to go now because my boss is leaving for a meeting and will ditch me if I’m late."

"What? Axton?"

"Do I have another boss?" Sierra replied, hastily packing her belongings. "We’ll talk later, Damian. Thanks for worrying about me." She hung up and hurried to catch up with Axton. Unfortunately, every step was painful, slowing her down.

Initially far ahead, Axton suddenly slowed his pace, allowing Sierra to catch up.

When the elevator opened, and they walked through the lobby, Axton again slowed his steps without a word.

Sierra observed his pace and followed behind, occasionally checking her iPad to prepare for the meeting. Suddenly, Axton stopped abruptly, causing Sierra to bump into his back.

Caught off guard, she lost her balance.

She closed her eyes, bracing herself for the inevitable—her back was sure to hit the floor, and her injured leg would be hurt again.

But as seconds passed, she still didn’t feel the cold hardness of the floor.

She opened her eyes, blinking repeatedly as she realized Axton had leaned toward her, his hands supporting her waist and back to prevent her fall.

Time seemed to stop for a moment.

Aware that everyone in the lobby was now watching, Sierra quickly regained her composure. She stood up and pulled away from Axton awkwardly, taking a step back and bowing her head slightly. "I’m sorry, Mr. Scott."

Axton cleared his throat and turned away without a word.

Sierra took a deep breath and followed him, walking as quickly as she could despite the pain in her leg. She would have to endure everything until they returned to the office after the meeting.

***

Hours later, Sierra gripped the ovulation test kit that Callie had given her, staring at the result in disbelief.

Damn. It was her fertile period.

This was her best chance to conceive if they acted now. But what could she do when Axton’s mother was still staying at their house? She couldn’t do anything without creating problems if the woman found out.

She sat on the toilet, exhaling heavily. Callie had left earlier, just before the meeting with Mr. Smith, and Sierra was grateful for that. She wasn’t sure how she’d handle things if Callie found out about the test results.

It seemed she had no choice but to ignore the test for the next two weeks—at least until she figured out a way to make it happen with Axton.

A way…

She needed an opportunity to—

Damn.

A thought crossed her mind, and she couldn’t believe what she was considering. But maybe she needed to try.

Sierra immediately left the bathroom, tossing the ovulation test into the trash after wrapping it in toilet tissue to ensure no one would find it. Then, she quickly made her way to Axton’s office, shutting the door behind her after confirming no one was around to see her.

Her heart pounded in her chest, and she knew why. But she also knew she had no other choice.

Callie reminded her that morning that they needed to do something to end this uncomfortable situation. And the fastest way to resolve everything was for her to get pregnant and deliver a child for Axton and Callie.

"What are you doing, Sierra?" Axton asked as he emerged from the restroom at the far right of his office.

He looked at her, who stood stiffly near the door, before walking to his desk and sitting down.

Sierra closed her eyes briefly, then approached him.

It was late afternoon, and they had just returned to the office after the hotel meeting.

It seemed like the perfect moment to act before they left for home.

"There’s a document I wanted to ask you about. It needs your revision. Could you ask the division—"

"I just took an ovulation test, and I found out that I’m currently in my fertile period," Sierra said, cutting him off mid-sentence.

Without hesitation, she sat on Axton’s lap, ignoring every company rule she broke.

To hell with the rules.

She had already forgotten everything else.

There was only one thing she wanted to do now.

Axton put away the document in his hand when she reached out to unbutton his shirt. She sits right on his groin—pressing Axton's private parts with her buttocks.

Sierra gave him a deep look before she lowered her head and brought her lips to his—letting him take the initiative to touch her.

However, Axton did not. “Sierra,” he hissed, ”do you know what you're doing?”

Sierra nodded her head. “More than anything,” she replied as she undid Axton's belt without taking her gaze off him.

“We're in the office,” Axton held his breath, and Sierra knew why.

Once again, she nodded her head. She took a deep breath before she looked up and spoke again, “I know what I'm doing. And I want you to do it now. In this place. In this office.” She said as she lowered her head and let her lips play on Axton's cock.
