ABEL'S POV I paced up and down in my room, really angry. All that I could think about was what Andrei had done to Anya. What right does he have to treat her like he treated her? I knew he had had to deal with the brunt of our parent's death, and he had to grow up at a young age to take over the pack, but that doesn't excuse how he treated her. He should have been kind to her...she is his mate, after all! But he treated her as if he could not stand the thought of her! He was just so mean to her. He treated her like a toy to play with whenever he was mad! I thought about Anya's attitude when we confronted her about why she let Andrei treat her like that. It was clear from the look on her face that she felt helpless and that there was nothing she could do to stop the situation. I felt sorry for her. How horrible was it for her that she felt as if there was no one she could talk to and there was nothing she could do about how Andrei treated her? Andrei had such a good mate, yet he
ANYA'S POVI looked at Abel blankly, wondering what he wanted to tell me. The words they said to me and how much of an idiot I was kept ringing in my head. I could have done something...I could have stopped Andrei from treating me like he did, but I just let it happen. "I just wanted to apologise for the way I talked to you. I could have done better!" Abel said to me. I was genuinely shocked to hear this. I never thought that he'd apologise to me. "What?" I asked him. "I said that I am sorry. I should have been nicer...I was just angry. You've been going through so much from Andrei, even when he is your mate...I got mad," he said to me. I shook my head. "I have thought about it, and I was foolish too. I could have done something, yet I....j just let it happen," I said."No, you didn't just let it happen. You did not have a choice. I understand that you must have felt helpless... like there was no one you could count on," He said. I was shocked that he considered apologising,
ANYA'S POVAbel scoffed at this. "Who knows if Anya will become the Queen? She may be his mate, but he doesn't want her. She can always reject him!" Abel said.Andrei glared at Abel when he said this. For a second, I thought he would counter what Abel said. But then he just changed the topic."If you guys are not ready to train today, just tell me so I can leave. I have other things that I want to take care of. I don't have all day to spend arguing with you," Andrei said.Of course, it wasn't as if I was expecting him to say anything good about me. Anyway, I don't care. I will be gone from here very soon, and I won't have to listen to him or watch him display his disgust for him every second. Kern cleared his throat; forever the peacemaker, he tried to smooth out our tensions. "Let's not talk about who will become the Queen now. We should focus on Anya's training and ensure she becomes strong enough to defend herself if anything happens!" Kern said. "Talking about being strong enou
ANYA'S POVI was in my room thinking about all of the things that I was going to do once I got my freedom in the next three days. The first thing I would do was get as far as possible from this pack. I won't make the mistake of staying anywhere close. I will have to disguise my appearance for a while. Andrei is going to try to find me if I am gone, and I don't want him to find me. My life will be much worse if he does bring me back. He won't try to find me because he cares about me but because he doesn't want his pride to be hurt. I was still thinking about all of these when someone knocked on my door. I looked up at the time. It was almost time for dinner. I walked over to the door and opened it. Kern was standing outside my room. He smiled at me. That sweet smile that I was going to miss. I hope that Kern will live a happy life after I am gone. He is a lovely person, and he deserves everything good in his life. "It's time for dinner, Anya. I was asked to come call you!" He s
ABEL'S POVAndrei slammed his spoon on the table angrily. "I said no!" he yelled. I glared at him, but I knew that nothing would change his mind at this point. Since he had already decided, I couldn't get him to change his mind. I don't understand why he insists on treating Anya like this. She didn't do anything to him! She is his mate, for crying out loud! "I will ask some of the female wolves to spar with her. If she can defeat them, we will continue from there," Andrei said with a sneer. I looked over at Anya, and she had a hurt look on her face. She, too, could tell that Andrei was looking down on her. But then, she was back to looking indifferent. It was as if she didn't care at all. I sighed in my mind. I had a feeling that Andrei would regret treating Anya like this very soon. .....Anya and I were training the next day when Andrei walked in with two girls following behind him. I stopped the training and watched Andrei. What is he planning to do? "What are you doing, A
ANDREI'S POV"Why would you do that?" Someone yelled from behind us. I turned to see Kern. I didn't even know when he got here. I had no idea that he was watching too. I could not help with gaps when I saw this. The rule was to compete as if they were in a real fight but not to use dangerous tricks against each other because I didn't want them to get hurt. Sandra had not adhered to that rule because she had been choking Anya just a second agoBecause Anya was thrown against the wall and her wolf hit the wall with a lot of force, she was forced to change back into her human form. She wasn't wearing any clothes, though, and all of us could see her nakedness. My throat went dry when I saw her naked body. I knew I should not be thinking about those things, but I could not help myself. No matter how many times I saw her naked, I never got tired of her body. She covered her breasts with her hands as she looked pitifully over to Abel. I was angry. Angry at Abel and angry at Anya.Anyt
ANYA'S POVI was lying on my bed in my room. I stared at the ceiling blankly. I had really thought that I was strong enough to leave this place on my own, but what happened proved to me that I was still not strong enough. Kern had said that she played dirty, but what she said was the truth. In the real world, if someone did attack me, they wouldn't be playing fair. They would be trying to kill me in whatever ways that they can. I needed to get stronger in the shortest time possible. I wanted to keep training so that I could make myself better, but Abel and Andrei said that I could not train and that I had to rest. So I was in my room with nothing to do except think about how I was going to escape from this place. I really can't stand living here for one month. And I don't think I can stand Andrei for one more hour. I have been doing everything that I can to avoid Andrei in the palace. And since he had not come to look for me on his own, it was working. I was still thinking random
ANYA'S POVI nodded my head, not knowing if I should believe this or not. "Hey....there is somewhere else that we need to first," Abel said to me. I could not help but be curious about this."Where is it?" I asked. He gave me a secretive smile. "Come with me!" He said. ....He took me to a seamstress shop. I looked at Abel as we walked in. I had an idea of what he was trying to do, and I could not help but be worried. What is wrong with him? "Abel...you ...".Abel ignored me and walked over to one of the women in the shops. "Hello. We need some dresses—ready-made ones," he said to her. Her face lit up with a beautiful smile. She looked all too happy to make some sales. "I think we have some that will be great for her. Come with me!" She said. She led the both of us to an inner part of the store and brought out some dresses. "Take a look at this one. It just came out today. And this one, too....I am sure that it will go great with your skin colour," she said as she handed c
