"...and we are getting live reports from 7th Avenue, where a drastic accident has just taken place. So far, two have been found dead, and…"

Klaus Lavon rolled his eyes.

He reached for his phone by his side, and picked it up from the leather seat beside him, his eyes still glued to the road.

One look at the caller ID told him it was the guard who he had asked to drive Arabella home.

He answered the call and pressed his speaker to his right ear, while his left remained fixed on the steering wheel, allowing him to navigate his way through the road.

"Yes?"

The other end of the line was silent, except for the sounds of urgent ragged breathing, and a female voice groaning in pain. Klaus narrowed his eyes on the road.

The next thing he heard was the screeching sound of metal. The loud honking of a car followed suit, then there was nothing at all, just silence.

Klaus's heart beat quickened in his chest.

What had just happened? What were all the noises he had heard?

He pulled the pho

The slow sounds of droplets of water filled Arabella's ears. As they touched the ground, they echoed in her mind, sending reverberations through her entire body. Now conscious, she struggled to part her eyelids, but stopped when her head felt as though it would split into a million and one unequal parts. She opened her ears, before her eyes, listening for a sound, any sound at all that could expose her location to her. The droplets of water did not do much. The room was cold, there were barely windows, she noticed. The smell of wet earth gripped her nostrils, and she fought back her sneeze more times that she could count. When Arabella was finally able to open her eyes, she was welcomed into pitch black darkness - one as dark as night itself. Panic gripped her chest with sharp claws. Her eyes scanned the entire room. She was not sure of how big, wide, tall, high, or spacious the room was. There were no windows, no source of doors or lighting in the entire room."Hello?!" Arabell

To say that Klaus was furious, would he an understatement. He drove round the city that night, every nook and cranny, every alley, every turn, he used his demon senses and sought to sniff her scent, wherever she was, he needed to find her. His entire search was to no avail. Arabella was gone. Whoever had taken her had targeted her. He had known they were on a date, he had known when they were leaving, he had known Arabella was heading home, and he was not going to be with her. It was the only reason the demon had dared to attack them. Klaus Lavon could not return home that night, not whole knowing Arabella was in possible danger, and needed his help. He parked the car by the side, of the road, and bumped his fists on the steering wheel. Frustration grew within him, and spread across his body faster than any known virus could.Amidst the air-conditioner in the car, Klaus Lavon was sweating profusely. This was all his fault. Trembling with anger, he raked his fingers down the le

The splash of cold water against her skin caused her to shudder. The hairs on Arabella skin prickled, her eyes shot open immediately as the cold rushed down her spine, jerking her back to consciousness. A loud gasp escaped her throat. The cold gust of wind that seeped into the room through the windows, threatened to freeze her spine. She was more than wide awake, and with a faint memory of all that had happened, leading to that very point, where she was tied to the chair and facing a random old man. Only, he was not random. She could remember his face, and very clearly. A few minutes or hours ago - Arabella was not exactly sure of how long she had spent in her fall-induced comma. The old man was not alone this time. Two other men stood behind him. Arabella could tell with one look, that they all worked for him. His lazy little minions. She scoffed, a bitter one, and rolled her eyes. The demon man who had claimed to be her husband did not see this gesture of hers. For that, she

Klaus Lavon had not known food, water, or sleep since Arabella was gone. They were the three terms that now seemed strange to him. Relaxation was a myth, while panic, fear, confusion and disappointment had become the order of the day. Every lead led to a dead end. No matter how much he pursued it, how strongly he felt like the lead would be "the one", the one that led him back to Arabella, back to the woman he loved more than anything else in the world, even himself, he was always wrong. Klaus Lavon always returned home with no Arabella, hopes crushed, and more disappointment. When Markus called to inform him that he had intel on some traitors, some men amongst his guards who had sold the whereabouts of he and Arabella that night. Enraged, Klaus Lavon left his house and hurried over to the warehouse where Markus promised he had kept them; safe and sound, ready and waiting for him. He made sure to beat traffic in whatever way he could. It was a miracle he did not run himself or

Klaus lay sprawled on his couch. He had moved one up to his room since Arabella's disappearance, seeing as he liked to keep to himself in his room, and he did not always like to lie down. It was efficient in moments like this one, where he had to drink himself to stupor while thinking of her.As he scrolled through images of Arabella, the ones he had taken of her while they were at Las Vegas, his heart broke even more. There was something about her bright eyes, and her pure smile. Knowing he might never get to see her again, to tell her how much he loved, valued, and cared about her, tore him to pieces. He was a big mass of nothing without the woman who had brought colour to his dark life.Tears ran down his eyes. Klaus had never thought himself a man who cried, but it was the only way to get rid of the pent up frustration in his chest. He found his favorite picture of her; the picture he had taken in the pool, back in Las Vegas, when they made love directly underneath the sunset f

In his home, Klaus sat on the couch opposite his father. He had come to visit him earlier, with regards to Arabella's disappearance. Klaus had received many condolence cards and messages, it was almost as if everyone else wanted Arabella dead. "You know, son, you do not have to blame yourself. There was nothing you could have done. Believe me, son." His father tried to speak, but Klaus did not believe him. "I should have stayed." He continued to tell himself. "I should have followed her home first, or asked her to accompany me. She would have never been taken away if I was there with her." He continued to repeat it over and over again. He listened to his father speak, and stayed quiet. Klaus Lavon nodded when he needed to, chuckled when he needed to, and hummed when he needed to. There was nothing else he could do, nothing else he wanted to do. "Have you gotten any leads yet? Any one that actually means something?" At his father's question, Klaus raised his head and met his fa

  • Slave To The Demon King   Wedding Preparations

Arabella sat in solemn silence. In front of her, was a large mirror, stationed to watch her looks. The lady - the one who had come in the day or night before - was here again. Last night had been to take measurements, tonight seemed to be for testing makeup looks and products. Of a truth, she was tired. She had been tired since she first opened her eyes and found that she was away from her master. She was tired to living, tired of breathing, tired of sitting down, or rather, being strapped down to a chair. She was tired of the hopeless feeling tugging at her heartstrings and making fun of her, daring her to have faith. The one thing that made her more sick than anything else, was the smug grin of satisfaction on the face of the old man. She could see him as he stood in front of the mirror. His eyes wandered over her, down to the dress that rested off her shoulders. His dark eyes sparkled with more lust and greed. He liked what he saw, and the knowledge caused her stomach to rev

They strapped the man for a chair, bound by a thin metal wire Klaus had heated up with his demon energy. Any attempt to move would send the wire into the man's skin. It could cut him open, and inflict him with so much pain, he would cry and search for death, but death would not find him. Klaus Lavon was certain he would make sure of that. From the moment he caught sight of the man, he was more than excited to finally find someone he could punish for Arabella's disappearance. While Markus drove them to the warehouse, Klaus had busied himself with thoughts of the million and one ways he could make the man wish he had never been born. Now that they had arrived, he could barely wait. Immediately he was bound to the chair, Klaus Lavon found a bucket of cold water - no doubt the water was from the rain that had fallen the previous night. It did rain a lot in Vermont - and stomped to where the man stood. He could feel Markus watching him silently, but his best friend did not utter a w

  • Slave To The Demon King   Happy Endings

Arabella was in the kitchen, surrounded by pots and pans, chopping boards and ingredients scattered all over the counter. She was in the middle of preparing a meal for Klaus and the rest of the family, despite Mrs. George's warmings due to her condition, when she suddenly felt a warm gush between her legs. She does not make anything of it at first, and continues chopping away on the vegetables in front of her, until the contractions in her lower abdomen grow more frequent, and much more painful. The warm gush continues to trickle down her legs, contrary to what she had believed would happen. Her eyes widen with shock and fear as she realizes that her water has just broken. She quickly moves to the kitchen table and tries to catch her breath, trying to remember what she had read in her prenatal classes about the first stages of labor. She screams and reaches out for the kitchen counter. She grips it with her right hand, and fights to suck in deep breaths. She realizes that it's t

  • Slave To The Demon King   The Baby Shower

The baby shower was to be held in a beautifully decorated backyard, surrounded by blooming flowers and lush green trees. The warm sun shone down on the guests as they gathered around a table filled with delicious treats and colorful decorations. The table was covered in a crisp white tablecloth and adorned with pink and blue balloons, symbolizing the impending arrival of a baby girl and boy. Soft music played in the background, adding to the serene and joyous atmosphere.Klaus had made sure everything was done to perfection. From the decorations, to the food, to the cakes, everything was arranged in an elegant and luxurious manner. He had also decided to cater to the planning by himself. Arabella's hormones made her too emotional and dramatic to get any serious planning done. And he also did not want to stress her. In one corner of the yard, a group of guests sat on comfortable chairs, chatting and laughing together. They sipped on cool drinks and nibbled on sweet desserts, taking

  • Slave To The Demon King   Hospital Appointments

Six months later The beeping sound of monitors could not take Arabella's eyes off the beauty on the screen in front of her. She could barely understand or see anything, seeing as the image on the screen was in black and white monochrome colours, but she knew what she was looking at. There, on that screen, she would see the image of her baby. She turned to look at Klaus, who was seated by her side. Together, they blushed as the doctor explained the image on the screen to them. The baby was already seven months in her womb, before Mrs. George suggested they make time out for an ultrasound scan. At first Arabella had not known what she meant, it was her first time being pregnant after all, but Klaus was able to explain to her the benefit of doing one, before she agreed to come all the way to the hospital. She was nervous when the doctor asked her to pull her shirt up, and rubbed a transparent liquid that smelt a lot like methylated spirit, but felt like gel on her stomach. A few

  • Slave To The Demon King   The Proposal

A diamond heart shaped ring stared back at her, glistering from within the red crystal shaped box it rested in. For a moment, a very long moment, Arabella could not blink. No matter how hard she wanted to tear her gaze away from the ring, and look into the eyes of the man she loved, she found herself unable to do anything else, besides stare into the eyes of the ring. When she could finally look away from the ring, it was to glance around the room once more. The rose petals, the candles, the daisies, the lights on the roof that screamed, "marry me, please", the piano recorder, the scent and aroma of love and romance that filled the room. He had singlehandedly prepared all of this, just to ask her to marry him?! He was really telling her that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her, and never apart, not even for a small moment! Arabella…Arabella did not know what to say, she was at a loss for both words and actions! The room spinned around her head, and she failed to be

  • Slave To The Demon King   Surprise, Surprise

Laughter, the sweet sound of chattering children erupted from all around her. Once again, Arabella opened her sleepy eyes to find herself in a sunny field of dandelions, all around her. The air was sweet and breezy, each part of the field contained different flowers, she was happy to be standing amongst dandelions. She looked up at the sky, and her eyes met with the bright blue clouds. Arabella was happy, very happy. It gladdened her heart to see somewhere filled with joy and happiness, and it only became better when she noticed the happy children running all around her. "Come on! Let us play!" One of them, a pretty little girl with dark hair and round brown eyes pulled the hem of her night dress. Arabella smiled at her. The girl let go of her dress, and joined the other children to run around. There were five of them in total, three boys and two girls. "Come on! Come on!" "We are going to have so much fun together!" "I cannot wait! Can you see it? Let us run to the sun and pl

  • Slave To The Demon King   The Successful Party

The party was a success, and Klaus knew he had to thank the universe for blessing him with such good luck. If he was being honest, it meant a lot to him that his people had shown up to support he and Arabella. It meant that he could stop to imagine waging war with the entire underworld, because he would have done so if that was what it took to keep Arabella safe. As they drove back home, Arabella leaned her head on his right shoulder, while her hand rested on his thigh. He could tell she was exhausted, and he knew why. Klaus found himself blushing at the thought of all that had happened with Arabella at the party hall. After sneaking away with her, he took her into an empty room, where he made love to her with her back pressed against the wall. He was gentle, as gentle as he needed to be, knowing that he could not be too rough, or he could risk hurting her and the baby. And Arabella? She responded to his body in a way he had never thought possible. Her body reacted to every kiss

  • Slave To The Demon King   The Toast

The first thirty minutes of the party went well, and she was yet to feel the burning urge to turn around and run, that had to count for something, right? Right. Klaus walked into the banquet hall beside her, hand in hand. Mrs. George followed them behind, she was here to make Arabella more comfortable. She knew it was the only reason she would have been asked to come along with them to a party or a feast, that really did not concern her. Arabella forced her mouth close once she stepped into the hall. The high red polished walls, large round table that contained nothing less than fifty people, the meals placed on the table, and the furniture; from the gargoyle sculptures, to the exquisite chandeliers, and the punch fountain that looked so beautiful at the center of the table, all of it made the room appear so dreamy. Arabella had never seen anything like it before. It did not take her long to know that the people in the room were not ordinary. Of course, they were demons, but this

  • Slave To The Demon King   Meeting Klaus’s People

The day had finally arrived. Klaus and Arabella had both agreed she would meet his people on the evening of the weekend, and since then, Klaus had counted down the seconds and minutes that would lead them up to that very moment. That evening, while she was getting ready, Klaus went over the details of the meeting once more."We will be meeting them at the banquet hall." He started to say. Arabella had dropped her brush on the dressing table, to turn to look at him. Klaus did not pay attention to the look in her eyes, he was terrified of what he would find; something like fear, that would make him back down. "A feast has been prepared. You would be dining with us, Arabella." Klaus could remember seeing her smile. He had a feeling the smile was to tell him to be calm, to reassure him that everything was going to be alright. To tell him that she could be strong enough for the both of them, it did not matter how, or what she needed to be strong for. As he paced about in the balcony

  • Slave To The Demon King   Sordid Discussions

Arabella stayed behind at the table to finish her meal with Mrs. George. After father and son had both excused themselves, Arabella and Mrs. George stayed back to enjoy their dinner in peace. Maybe Mrs. George was able to eat in peace, but Arabella was not. All the while, she kept on thinking about what Klaus's father had intended to ask her, and what the answer to the question would have been. Mrs. George looked up at her at one point, a small smile on her face. "I do not think you should beat yourself up about it, Arabella. If it was anything very important, you should know master Klaus would never keep it away from you." Arabella dropped her fork, and cleared her throat. She stared deep into Mrs. George's eyes, before speaking. "I know, I know. But I can't stop myself from worrying. It sucks, it really does." Mrs. George heaved a sigh. She reached out to Arabella and touched her wrist gently. "You'll be alright, my dear. That is all I really need you to know." Arabella did
