SKYLAR'S P.O.VI took a walk down the garden. I carried Diego with the baby carrier which he sat comfortably in, sucking on his thumb. The dream I had the previous night came reflecting to my mind.I couldn't discuss this with Denver or he'd think I'm crazy or something. Or that I was always picking reasons to hate people. I thought of who to talk to. Not Roselle or Diva this time, and it's definitely not with doctor James either. This very dream wasn't the kind I can talk to them about, especially when those involved has nothing to do with them. There was only one person I know I could talk to – my father.I dialled his number. Dad was another figure who was quick to pick calls. He never delayed, his phone is always beside him. So I knew I wouldn't have to get restless or think about whether or not he was going to pick my call.“Hello, peanut.” He said from the other side of the line. “Hey, dad.” I greeted. “How are you doing?”“I'm doing good. What about you?” He asked back.“Great
SKYLAR'S P.O.VDad arrived to the pack just as promised. After exchanging pleasantries with Denver, he requested we have a walk to the garden which was the best place to have this conversation.“So, where did we stop the previous day?” He asked.“You said you were going to explain to me how the past is connected with me.” I reminded.“Exactly.” He agreed. “Now, here is the point. Like I told you yesterday, the young lady in your dream is your mother. Your mother is white wolf, and so did everyone you saw. The white wolves are said to be rare species, most people say they are direct decendents of the moon goddess.Well, the Red Lotus is what they call them. They hated the Moon goddess after what happened to their ancestors. So, in order to revenge for their ancestors, they took the decision in their hands to eliminate the white wolves and end the existence of the moon goddess.”“But did they kill all of them?” I asked.“No. They escaped, just like you saw them in your dream.” He answer
SKYLAR'S P.O.VI know what you're going to say – I don't have to involve Dimitri in everything that happens to your life. But the truth is, I can't help not getting him involved. We've been pretty good friends with a fascinating past, not being together doesn't make us enemies. I no longer see him as just a friend, I see him more like a brother to me. And as a brother he deserves to know everything about me.Well, that's by the way. I was actually planning on calling him. Which I did.“Hey, Sky.” He was another figure who called me Sky. I'll admit, I love it when Denver and him call me that.“Hey Dimitri.”“How are you doing?” He asked. “And how is my godson doing too?”“Diego has been good. Less disturbing these days. What about you?” I asked back.“What can I say? Everything has been going pretty good.” He sighed. “I'm sorry I haven't checked up on you lately, a lot has been –” “Dim, you don't have to explain it to me. I've seen how things go with Denver here, and if there's anyone
SKYLAR'S P.O.VI couldn't get myself to sleep, my eyes were opened. I kept turning from one side to the other, but yet, I couldn't get sleep to hold me. Denver had to cuddle me against his chest, for a moment I thought his presence would get me to sleep but no – Gently, I took his hand off my waist, slowly making my way out of the room so as not to wake him nor the baby. I took a walk along the hallway, thinking within myself how to go about with this new discovery. I stopped towards the hallway window, staring out of it. I could feel the cold sensation of the night breeze, it was a bit helpful as it helped ease my worries. At least a bit of it.“You should be asleep.” Mrs Kate said from behind me.I sighed. “I can't get myself to sleep.”“Is everything alright?”“I wish it was.” I sighed again. “Nothing has ever seemed alright to me.”“Do you mind sharing?”I don't know why I was talking with her, but I couldn't help snubbing her over my problems. This was something I needed every
SKYLAR'S P.O.VAfter I had spoken with Aunt Kate, I was able to sleep that night. It wasn't a long one, though. The happiness in me wouldn't let me sleep longer.Just as she had promised, she did discuss the issue with Denver which he was pleased with. He didn't hesitate to send his warriors to fetch the man aunt Kate had spoken of.The journey to Texas was about five hours going and five hours returning, which would take exactly ten hours on air. Ten hours felt more like eternity, I'd say. I went to the garden to speak with to father. Like I once said, dad doesn't take too long to pick my call, but this time he wasted time, leaving me to wonder what could be the problem.I called again but he didn't pick my call. Just when I was close to getting a high blood pressure, he finally answered my call. “Dad, what the heck took you so long to pick up?!” I yelled.“Hey, peanut, you don't have to shout.”“I don't have to shout? Dad, you kept me worried and you think it isn't worth shouting?”
SKYLAR'S P.O.VI told Denver that I was feeling sleepy and I wanted to get some rest as my brain seems to be malfunctioning at the moment. So, I left him with aunt Kate. Truth be told, I wasn't feeling sleepy, I only wanted to meet with Jason before he fell asleep.I offered a knock on his door. He didn't waste time opening the door for me. “Hey,” I forced myself to smile.“I knew you'd come.” he said, shifting aside for me to enter.I looked at both sides to be sure no one was watching, then I entered. “I have a lot of questions to ask, and you're the only one who can give me answers to them.”“I already told you, I have no idea of everything that happened twenty three years ago. Besides, I was little then.”“But you have to remember something – anything. I need to know exactly if they are alive.”“You do know that some didn't make it out alive, do you?” He asked.“I know.”“That means you were there when it all happened. Just as you don't remember anything, same as it is to me.”“I
JASON'S P.O.VWhatever happened – whatever she saw, I knew it was something bad.I tried mindlinking to her but I couldn't reach out, she was completely off my reach. I was worried, how she had passed out wasn't just ordinary.I've heard rumors about white wolves who see visions and weird dreams, it was said that they were the chosens of our kind. If she does see visions indeed, then could it be…?I was interrupted by the sound of a knock on the door. I sniffed in, the scent was a different one I haven't perceived before with another familiar scent which belongs to Alpha Denver.I went to open the door for them, letting them in. “How is she?” I couldn't wait to ask that.“She is fine at the moment.” Denver replied.I sighed in relief, nodding my head. Then I looked at the man standing beside Denver, I asked. “Who is he?”“This is doctor James, my physician. Well, he is here to ask you some questions.”I looked at Denver. When he said ‘To ask me a few questions,’ what kind of questions
SKYLAR'S P.O.VI pushed the door open without minding for a knock. “Denver, I have good news.” I said without hesitation. He looked at me. “I can see it clearly on your face.” He said, leaning against his leather chair. “So tell me, what's this good news about?”“Dad just called a few minutes ago, he said he found about five white wolves in the pack.” I announced, making myself comfortable on the chair.“Well, that's indeed good news.” He said, staring at me with this smile on his face that made me want to grab his lips and devour them into mine. “What?” He asked, raising an eyebrow.I smiled, shaking my head. “Nothing.”“Nothing?” He repeated. I knew he could tell I was lying from the look on my face, and the fact that he has access to my mind. “You're staring at me and you're saying nothing?”My cheeks flushed as I looked away, glaring at the ground. “You're looking more handsome everyday.” I finally admitted. He chuckled. “Come on, Sky, I've always been handsome.” He said with prid
