Adonis ~It felt like a punch was thrown to my guts as I looked at Penelope who smirked right at me. “You did what?” I snarled, grabbing her by the arm as I glared at her. Her sick and twisted smile back on her face. I squeezed her arm as tightly as I could, knowing she’d have marks there. “What the fuck did you do to, Lola? I snapped angrily and she grinned, darting her tongue out to lick her lips sultrily.“Why? You can’t stand your darling baby cakes, lay in an hospital bed for some days or months or-if I’m lucky enough, years?” She taunted. A growl escaped my lips, I grabbed her neck, my hands tightened against her neck. I pushed her against the wall, gripping her neck tightly as her face became red in an instant.“If something happens to, Lola. I promise you, you’d die by my hands and I’ll gladly go to jail.” I snarled, digging my nails into her arms to leave a mark. "I promise you, I will personally make sure to put a bullet through your skull and feed your remains to vultures.
Adonis~A glass cup was thrown at the door Immediately I stepped in, I ducked my head as fast as I could and the glass smashed against the wall. I turned to look at the now shattered pieces of the glass cup.Fuck!I turned to see the man responsible for it, he had a drink in his hand, looking too calm for someone who threw a glass cup at me seconds ago. I gulped down the pile in my throat as he smiled.“Welcome.” He grinned rather scarily, gulping more of the drink down his throat. I took the liberty to look around but everywhere looked normal. Like it has always been.“What happened with Penelope?” He asked and I shrugged, walking away from the door, to the living room. He raised his eyebrows on seeing my response. Smashing the glass of alcohol he had in his hand on the floor. I flinched hard as soon as I saw what he did, slowly glancing up at him to see blood dripping down his hand.“I asked you a question, boy! I expect an answer.” He snarled angrily."How am I supposed to know wha
Adonis ~It’s been three days. Three days since I went to the police station and gave them the recording I had, filing a report against dad for holding mom hostage. They accepted it and opened the case but said they’d have to investigate it further before taking actions. I was loosing patience as the day went by, here I am hunched against the desk, staring at my laptop.“Sir.” Noah’s voice boomed in the office, I sat up to see him standing right in front of the table.“It’s late and I should head home now.” He says and I nodded.“How about you, sir? I don’t think it’s quite okay for you to spend the night here. You should go home and rest.” He tells me but I wasn’t willing to listen. I need work to distract myself from everything going wrong In my life. I legit thought handing the recording of father saying he’d rather kill mom would be enough to take him into custody the next day perhaps but it’s been three whole days! Three days of me waiting for the result of their investigation.
It’s been four days…Four days since I’ve gotten mom back. One day since since father has been arrested arraigned to court where he was found guilty of fraud and also holding mom hostage even after her accident. He was also found guilty for threatening me and sentenced to seven years imprisonment. My life has suddenly taken a different turn and route. No matter how short and private the court proceedings were, some of it was still bound to spill to the public and that it did. Although I wasn’t shaken by the different conspiracies people kept coming up with.“Hey.” Lola whispered, I turned to look at her with a glass of apple juice in her hands. I rolled my eyes playfully as she took a seat beside me. We were both sitting in Liam and Chloe’s patio. We couldn’t celebrate fully since mom was still in the hospital, Penelope still hasn’t been caught and Lola hasn’t healed. She still has a cast on and still uses her crutches. We all sat outside here eating and talking until Chloe felt slee
Lola~Eight months after…"We don’t have all day, Lola. Come on.” Adonis yelled impatiently. I grabbed my phone and walked out of the room. It’s not like anyone told him to get dressed an hour before the said time an now he’s taking it out on me.“You can’t rush perfection, Adonis.” I yelled back. My heels clicking against the marble floor. Adonis was pacing around the living room, talking on the phone with someone I presume to be Liam. A smile made it’s way to my lips as I took a ground look of him. He was dressed in a grey suit, his hair had grown out longer and he tied it into a ponytail with few strands falling to his forehead. I watched as he gently picked up the sculpture sitting pretty on the shelf even as he spoke. He seemed to notice my presence and immediately turned to look at me.A warm smile embracing his lips as his eyes slowly raked me. “I’ll be there soon with her.” He says and cut the call, walking closer to me with a hint of mischief in his eyes.“Are you ready?” I as
“Don’t you think it’s time?” Chloe questioned, folding her hands against her chest as she stared at me. I furrowed my eyebrows, immediately averting my gaze as I look out the windshield. Pretending not to know what she was talking about.“I don’t understand.” I replied, genuinely hoping she would let it go but of course, knowing the kind of person she is, she definitely would not.I felt her hand against mine, briefly pulling me back to her.“You know what I am talking about so don’t play dumb. It’s been five months. Five whole months but you’re still stocked on what happened. “ She says in a hus
I shut the door tightly, rushing into the bathroom and locked the door, as if that would help clear my head. The fuck did I just witness? And not just that but also the fact that he saw me, he saw me and smirked at me. He saw me watch them fuck.—For fucks sake, why did I have to stand there and watch them, watch him groan as he wrecked her walls. Watch him wrap her hair around his knuckles, pulling her head back, wrapping his other free hand around her neck.—I rushed towards the wash hand basin, turning on the water and splashed it on my face. Not only did I see them but I’m also thinking about it? The worse part is the fact that I don’t regret standing there and watching it. For a moment, I wanted it to be me.
Here I am standing outside the family house. I’ve been standing out here for five minutes. Trying to summon every single courage in me and walk up the stairs and press the bell. —you’ve got this Lola— I took a deep breathe and exhaled, taking my first step up the stairs and eventually got to the door, reaching for the door bell and pressed it.I was scared. I am scared. I had no idea how I would be welcomed after all it’s been months since I last came here. I was cut short my thoughts as the door suddenly came open. An extremely bright smile welcomed me, hauling me into her arms very tightly “Lola.” Aunt Mandy exclaimed, her hands rubbing my back soothingly as she rocked me back and forth.

Adonis ~(Note; all of these happened before Lola’s accident. This happened on the day of her accident.) I woke up the next day with my phone blazing through my ears. A groan escaped my lips as I sat up, sleepily rubbing my eyes as I reached for my phone. I spent the rest of the night yesterday going through work with Noah. I’ve been slacking off but how can I not slack off? I’ve been going through hell trying to get mom back and fuck this whole wedding with Penelope who by the way decided it was a great move to leave my phone with so many missed calls.“Hello sir.” I recognized the voice of my private investigator, immediately sitting up right. He’s calling this early morning and that should mean something, right?“Any news?” I asked, going straight o the point and ignoring every greeting I know I should have done. I could feel my heart beat thump louder in my chest as I waited for his reply.“I have news sir but I have to see you for this.” He tells me. I furrowed my eyebrows, getti
Adonis~Here i was sitting in a coffee shop, waiting for Penelope’s friend of maybe a for. I had no idea what to think or maybe I do, after all she did tell me that she hates Penelope. I sighed as I rubbed the nape of my neck, taking a sip of the expresso I had ordered. Images of what happened earlier in the day flashed through my mind. I could only hope I haven’t fucked up everything entirely with Lola.I looked up to see someone walking towards me, I cocked my eyebrows up on seeing who it was. I didn’t understand why she was dressed so weirdly. She has a black face cap on, a black jean and top, pairing it with a black jacket and black sunglasses. I furrowed my eyebrows as she got to my side. Looking left and right before sitting down opposite me.“What’s going on? Why are you dressed like some spy and looking around so cautiously and nervously?” I asked as she removed her sunglasses and cap. "What? Please tell me you know who I am?” She asked, rakin
Lola~I ran out of the house, ignoring the yells of Liam and Chloe. I just wanted to be away from everyone as it is. I stopped a taxi and hopped it, wiping the tears that trickled down my cheeks. Just why did he tell me all of these now? My thoughts were going hay wire and I had nothing to do to stop it. "Ma’am, I couldn’t help but notice your mood. Is everything alright?“ the taxi driver piped up. I hadn’t noticed the tears silently flowing down my face as I leaned against the back seat. I sat up right, wiping my tear stricken face and looked at the driver whose features had turned into one of concern.I opened my mouth to speak but nothing was coming out so I nodded. He smiled warmly at me “Everything-goes.” He says. Our eyes met through the rear view “Have you heard it? It’s a song by BTS leader, Kim Namjoon and also my favorite song.” He says and turned on the volume of the radio'As the night passes and morning comes, as flowers and frui
Adonis~I watched her take a seat, trying to collect herself and look at me. Her eyes was cold and distant. I inhaled deeply and began to walk closer to her, taking a seat opposite her but also not so far from her.I heard the sharp intake she took when I sat, instinctively I reached out to touch her but she flinched. She flinched away from me. I felt my heart stop for a second as I noticed that action “Please don’t touch me.” She whispered and if it’s possible for a person’s heart to get shattered twice then mine just did.I swallowed the lump in my throat, trying to gather my thoughts and voice but I couldn’t seem to get the words I longed to say out of my mouth. How do I start? I missed you? I love you? I’m sorry I hurt you?How exactly do I start because I have no idea.Earlier when Liam had asked me to come over without any explanation I did. It never crossed my mind that he would ask Lola to come too. Maybe if he told me, I would’ve prepared
