Third person’s POV

Not much had been said during the drive home or even when they got back, Alexa had gone upstairs to her room, freshened up and had returned to have dinner with Calan. There was just this feeling of wanting to talk about the fact that they had stumbled upon Layla but there seemed to be nothing to say at all. Her heart was all heavy and her confidence had dwindled significantly on seeing Layla, she felt silly to have actually thought Calan would eventually develop feelings for her; Layla was perfect, she was the most flawless lady she had met and she hadn’t been able to get Calan to love her, who was she to get him to love her then?

“I thought you were hungry?”. Calan spoke up at last.

She realized she had been eating very slowly, the food seemed almost untouched.

“I am”. She replied.

“Then why aren’t you eating?”. He asked her.

“I…am”.

He shook his head but said nothing, it was clear that her loss of appetite was the least of his concern at the moment.
