Chapter 69

***SUMMER'S POV***

The pounding sounds in my head are disheartening, especially when I open my eyes and feel the room spinning around.

The white-painted walls are strangely familiar, and I can hear my heart beating in my ears. When I hear two familiar voices speaking, I open my eyes, happy to know that the men fit the voices.

"Smokey? Gunner?" I call out gently and I am surprised they rush to me, holding each side of my hand, squeezing it gently.

"Oh, Summer. We are so sorry that you had an accident. Are you alright? Does it hurt? Should we call the doctor?" Gunner answers a number of questions, his blue eyes sparkling as he watches me intensely.

"I'm fine, Gunner. Just a mother of a headache," I screech out.

He nods, his eyes glancing over at Smokey before landing on me.

"Is anything the matter?" I inquire, raising my brows at him..

"No, of course not," Gunner drugs.

Smokey hands me a glass of water with a straw on it and I occupy myself drinking from it, contented
