"Oh! My gosh it's him." What is he doing here? Is he a freshman too? He was surrounded by a group of guys, they noticed he wasn't listening to what they were saying, they all looked in the direction he was looking at and soon, they were all staring at me.

"What did you say?" Sam thought I was talking to her.

"Nothing." I said and shook my head.

They were still staring at me and talking amongst themselves. I turned around and grind myself against Sam.

Oh! The alcohol was starting to kick in.

I flipped my hair from side to side as Sam twerked and danced wildly. A guy appeared in front of Sam and started to dance with her and I was left to dance alone.

Someone tapped me on my shoulder and when I turned to look. It was him, he was standing right in front of me.

"Hey, remember me?" He asked loudly, I could hear him clearly, he was standing close to me, too close.

He was invading my personal bubble.

""Who are you?" I asked, pretending not to remember him.

"Your asswipe, silly." He has started again with his rude and ugly attitude.

I formed an oh with my mouth.

"It's you, I remember. I thought I'd never see your face again."

"What? You got a problem with my face?" He asked rudely as he stared down at me like I was an ant he could crush under his feet.

That's it, this guy has really tested my patience enough.

"Has no one ever taught you about good manners and how to talk to people politely?"

"What?" He asked, surprised.

I was glad I was able to bring out other reactions from him and not his usual cocky self.

"You know, you're hot and all but your attitude sucks real bad." I told him and brushed past him to pull Sam away from the guy she was dancing with.

"Hey, let's go." I said as I pulled her along with me.

"Was that Ryker Lynn you were just talking to?" Sam asked me.

Oh! His name is Ryker.

"You know him?"

"Everyone knows Ryker."

"But you just got to school today." I said as I opened the door of the club and we stepped outside. Cool breeze blew on us and it was refreshing.

"I have an elder sister here, I stayed with her some weeks ago. He's one of the super hottest and richest guys at school. How did you know him?"

I explained everything that has happened between Ryker and I to Sam.

"I didn't know he was that arrogant." Sam said as she took off her heels and walked barefooted. I stared at her as she walked.

"What? Take it off too, it's ten o'clock, no one is watching us."

My legs were sore from the heels already, so I used her shoulder as support and removed the heels. Walking barefooted felt so good.

If Dylan was here, he would have ranted on and on about how it was unladylike to walk barefooted.

--

Ryker's POV

I parked my bike at the side of the street near two girls, one was tall and talking to the short one who typed away on her phone. She reminds me of the girl I met yesterday but she couldn't be the one. I looked away from them and went inside the club, it was a little bit crowded tonight. I pushed through all the sweaty bodies and walked straight to the bartender.

"The usual." I said and gave him a tip.

He gave me the drink, I took it and walked towards my usual table. It was always reserved for my friends and I. They were already seated when I got there. I greeted and shook hands with them before sitting down.

"My father wants me to start learning the operations of the company." Brandon said. He was the richest in our group, his father has about three companies in three different countries.

"But I'm not ready yet, I wanna have a little bit more fun before I start working."

Brandon was still talking when I noticed a familiar face dancing in the crowd. It was the girl in the rain, the one who accused me of stealing her peanut butter.

She was even prettier than she was yesterday, or maybe I hadn't noticed she was pretty because I didn't pay much attention to her. She swayed her hips and moved to the beat.

"Dude, what are you looking at?" Felix asked when he noticed I was no longer paying attention to what they were saying.

They all looked in the direction I was staring at and saw her. She noticed we were staring at her, she said something to her friend then turned her back to us and continued dancing.

"Huh! She's pretty." Felix said, nodding his head.

"Yeah. She's probably a freshman. Dude, do you know her?" Chad asked.

"I met her at some place yesterday," I said, still watching her. A guy started to dance with her friend, she's alone now.

"Guys, I'll be right back." I said as I stood from my seat and went to meet her.

I tapped her shoulder and she turned to look at me.

"Hey, remember me?" I asked her.

"Who are you?" I knew she was only pretending not to know me. My face is not the type you easily forget.

"Your asswipe, silly." I said to her, A look of annoyance crossed her face but it went as quickly as it came.

Her red stained lips formed an oh and I couldn't help but stare at them.

"It's you. I remember. Never thought I'd see your face again." Was she kidding me? I'm literally popular on campus. Does she really not know who I am or is she just pretending. I know she'll have heard about me from people on campus, even if she was a freshman.

She probably approached me on purpose at the mall yesterday. I didn't know she was a student here.

"What? You got a problem with my face?" I asked her rudely. She looked like she'd had enough of me. She stopped dancing, and looked up at me squarely and said,

"Has no one ever taught you about good manners and how to talk to people politely?"

"What?" I asked, as I stared down at her, surprised.

"You know, you're hot and all but your attitude sucks real bad." She said and brushed past me, she pulled her friend with her and they walked out of the club.

No one has ever spoken to me like that, ever.

I was angry as I went back to my seat with my friends. I felt like a fool, a girl has never spoken to me that way before, they were either smitten by my looks and tongue tied or they'll just agree to whatever I say.

"Dude, you okay?" Brandon asked as I sat down.

"That girl just made a fool out of me." I said angrily.

"Relax man. It's just a girl." Chad said.

"Hey, I have an idea guys." Brandon said as he moved closer to us in his seat.

"And what's that?"

"Let's play a game, the usual one."

When he said the usual one, we understood what he meant. Everything semester, we do play a game, a betting game

We'll spin a bottle and whoever the bottle points at has to do what the bet requires.

We all agreed to play the game. Brandon placed an empty bottle on the table between us and spun it. It rolled and rolled and finally it stopped and pointed at me.

"Ahh, good!" Brandon exclaimed. He folded his and began to think about the bet he'll give me.

"Be quick, dude." I said to him, the others at the table were also waiting and wondering what he would say.

"Okay, okay. Let's place a bet on that girl, the one you went to meet just now." Brandon said with a devilish smirk. I knew that was what he was going to say.

"Make her fall in love with you and then tell her it's a bet when she has fallen for you."

The rest at the table waited for my response.

"Well, I accept it. I will make her fall for me." I agreed.

"But don't you ever fall in love with her." Brandon warned.

"I won't, it isn't the first time we are betting, anyways." I smirked at him. I never lose a bet, the guys know that. And this one will be the same.

"Guys, I gotta go." I said to the guys. I rose from my seat and walked out of the club. I moved to my bike and wore my helmet. The bike roared back to life as I started it, I turned around and raced down the street. I hadn't gone far when I noticed two girls walking down the street barefooted with their heels in their hands.

I moved closer to them slowly and saw that one of them was her. I smirked when the both of them looked back and noticed I had slowed down behind them.

They looked frightened when they saw that I was following them. They screamed and started to run down the street. I couldn't help but laugh at their actions. I continued my journey and ignored them when I raced past them.

Girl in the rain, I'm coming for you.

Time went by really fast and soon it was Monday. I had woken up early because I wanted to visit the school library before going to class. As I was about to leave, Sam woke up, she yawned and stretched her body."Hey, good morning roomie." She muttered sleepily."Morning, Sam" I said as I put the last book in my bag. Sam stood up and went off to the bathroom,I waited so I could inform her that I was leaving. A few minutes later, she came back to the room with a charcoal face mask on her face"You're leaving for school so early? Classes don't start until eight o'clock. It's only a few minutes to seven." "I know, I just want to check out the library before going to class." I told her."Can I have your phone?" She asked before gently grabbing the phone from me."What's your password?" I stared at her, what was she going to do with my phone?"Your password! Or do you have secrets, bad things and porn on your phone?" "No!" I defended myself, I would never ever have that on my phone."

"Yes, we are still open." Seth said as he suddenly appeared beside me by the counter. He gave me a look that said, 'Are you not gonna answer them?' I thought I'd be starting officially tomorrow, and also as a baker not a barista."What would you like to order?" I asked Ryker who stood in front of me with a tight smile."We'll take anything you have." He said as he looked at the cakes on display. "Your order will be ready in a bit." I repeated what Lucy said to me this afternoon. They all went to the far end of the cafe to have their seats. I have zero experience in being a barista, so Seth helped me to prepare a slice of cake and juice for each of them. I took the orders down to their tables and served them. Ryker's eyes were on me the whole time, I ignored him and went back to sit behind the counter. I have to wait until they pay before I leave now that Seth has gone back to his office.I had a sour expression on my face as I watched them talk loudly amongst themselves. Anyone wh

I woke up with a slight headache the next morning, I knew it was due to the stress I went through yesterday. I took some pain relief and went to the bathroom to shower. Sam was awake by the time I went back to the room, she was applying a white face mask to her face.I greeted her and started to dress up as Sam also went to the bathroom to shower, I guess she was going to class this morning."Shea!! Can you pass me my towel?" Sam called out from the bathroom, why would she go in there without her towel?Anyways, I took the towel from her bed and passed it to her in the bathroom. Soon, she came out of the bathroom, her hair dripping wet. She took another towel and dried her hair."So, about your best friend." Sam started as she wore a cropped sweatshirt and a black jeans. "What's his name again?" She asked as she plugged in the hair straightener."It's Dylan, and I thought you would have forgotten about him." Sam had gone to her sister's place and won't be returning until the weekend so I was alone in the room.I was really bored because I had nothing to do, so I decided to check through Ryker's phone too. An eye for an eye.True to his words most of his photos were nudes, even Grace's nudes were there.I knew this guy was a bad boy. There were barely any decent photos on his phone except for the pictures of a dog, it was a really cute dog. I guess he's a dog lover.I left his gallery and checked his playlists, it was filled with sad and emotional songs. I sighed as I decided to play Candy crush for the next one hour before going for my classes.--It was a few minutes to eight o'clock and Ryker still wasn't here yet. My head still hurts so bad and I've been sneezing all day. I was going to get sick.It was a miracle that I was able to go to classes and also complete my shift without fainting.I gently walked out of the kitchen and stood beside Lucy."You look terrible, girl." Lucy said as she observed my appearance. She walked towards me, placed her palm on my head and gasped."You're burning up, Shea. You should go home. Call your boyfriend to come pick you up." I didn't have the strength to tell her that Dylan wasn't my boyfriend right now."Is something going on here?" Seth asked as he made his way towards us. How did they get into my room?"Grumps, are you awake? It's me. I'm back" Ryker said as he gently sat on the bed."I know it's you, nobody else calls me grumps." I said to him weakly as I sat up and rested my back on my pillow."Is your head good? Do you feel a bit better?" I nodded at him and looked at the lady that stood beside my bed, she had been watching me all along. "Grumps, this is my sister, Doris. She's a doctor, she's going to examine you." Ryker stood and pointed at the short lady, she was just about my height, and she was very beautiful too. She had short blonde hair just like Ryker but the color of her eyes were different from Ryker's own, they were a mixture of blue and gray. The week rolled by and before I knew it, tomorrow was Monday again. I had not seen Ryker around or at the café since the day he left my hostel. I was so excited that I kept checking my purse to see if the money was still there.I had promised to take myself out on a solo date when I get my first salary. I deserved it, after a long and stressful week.Same had returned yesterday, but she didn't leave me alone until I told her everything that happened when she wasn't around.I put on a black jeans and a gray top, packed my hair in a low bun and applied a bit of make-up.And by make-up , I meant my strawberry flavor lip gloss. I wasn't really a fan of make-up. The clubhouse was crowded as usual, loud music, sweaty bodies and people making out in dark corners. Sam and I made our way through the crowd and found a spot to sit in front of the bar, drinks weren’t free today. I guess someone paid for all the drinks the last time we came here. I had a shot of tequila but Sam didn’t drink anything, she said she was going to watch over me so I could drink as much as I liked.“Hey, let’s dance.” I told her as I pulled her to the dance floor, the alcohol was starting to kick in. I swung my body to the beat while Sam did the same.“Shea?” I heard someone call my name, I looked back and saw that it was Felix. Why the heck did he call me? Did Ryker send him to beg me?“Hey.” I said nonchalantly and continued to dance.“Look, Ryker didn’t mean what he did, he already called off the bet when he realized how he feels about you.” He shouted over the music.“Do you mind? The memory of myself, struggling in the pool flashed through my mind. It was traumatizing.I opened my eyes and gasped for breath. I got down from the bathtub. I couldn't do it. I just wanted to give her more time to heal from what she was going through. I had plans to take her out on another date, to tell her how much I loved and cherished her and then eventually tell her about the bet. But Cassie ruined everything.I ran out of the pool area to go after Shea, but she was already getting into a car. I knew it was Laurel’s car.I didn’t know what to do.
