Aurora's pov
The elder's words warmed my heart, and I felt a sense of comfort knowing that I had someone like her looking out for me.
"I will," I wrote, smiling at her. "Thank you again for your kindness."
The elder nodded and turned to leave, but then she stopped and turned back to me. "I almost forgot," she said. "I brought you some food. I thought you might be hungry."
She handed me a basket filled with fresh fruit, bread, and cheese. My stomach growled at the sight of the food, and I felt a surge of gratitude towards the elder.
"Thank you so much," I wrote, taking the basket from her. "This is very kind of you."
The elder smiled and patted my hand. "You're welcome, child," she said. "Remember, you're not alone here. We're all looking out for you."
With that, she turned and left, leaving me to enjoy the food she had brought me. I sat down at the table, feeling grateful for the elder's kindness and generosity. As I ate, I felt a sense of hope that I hadn't felt in a long time, which was truly a long time. Maybe, just maybe, things were going to be okay after all.
As I finished my meal, I heard a knock at the door. I got up to answer it, expecting it to be the guard again. But to my surprise, it was the alpha.
"Good morning," he said, his eyes scanning the room. "I see you're feeling better. I brought some more food and some clothes for you."
I was taken aback by his kindness. "Thank you," I wrote, feeling a sense of gratitude towards him.
The alpha smiled and handed me the clothes and food. "You're welcome," he said. "I want to make sure you're comfortable here. Like I said yesterday you're part of our pack now, and we take care of our own."
I felt a surge of emotion at his words. No one had ever made me feel like I belonged before.
The alpha's eyes seemed to see right through me, and he nodded as if he understood what I was feeling.
"I know it's a lot to take in," he said. "But I promise you, we're a good pack. We'll take care of you and keep you safe."
I felt a sense of hope at his words. Maybe, just maybe, I had found a place where I truly belonged.
I went on to the bathroom. After what felt like several hours, the guard finally came with a big smile all written on his face. He picked up the pieces of paper to look at the list that I had given him, but from the first thing that was written, he was filled with surprise and shock.
"I don't understand?" the guard asked. "A rented store room?"
I nodded with a faded smile.
"I am confused," he said. "I would need you to explain what you need it for?" He asked, handling a notepad for me to write what I meant by that.
"I can't be staying here and doing nothing," I wrote. "I want to be doing something by myself."
The guard looked at me with surprise. "Wait, if I can get you straight, you want to start a business?" he said. "That is a good idea, but isn't that too early? You just moved into this city a few days ago, and you're already thinking of this. Not only trying to start..."
I nodded firmly. "Yes, I know it's early, but I have you," I wrote with a forceful smile. "Finding my way in this city wouldn't be difficult for me."
The guard smiled back. "Am just a guard to the alpha," he said, "but since you are putting your trust in me, I would at least try and not to disappoint you."
I rushed at him, giving him a hug.
"Okay," the guard said, "so what business do you have in mind?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I am a fashion designer," I wrote, scratching my head in a little bit of doubt, "but I wouldn't say I am the best, but at least I'm trying."
The guard's expression changed from surprise to interest. "A fashion designer, huh?" he said, his voice filled with curiosity. "I wouldn't have pegged you as the creative type."
I smiled, feeling a sense of pride. "I guess you can't judge a book by its cover," I wrote.
The guard chuckled. "I guess not. So, what kind of fashion do you design?"
I thought for a moment before responding. "I like to think of my designs as a fusion of traditional and modern styles," I wrote. "I want my clothes to be beautiful, but also functional and comfortable."
The guard nodded, his eyes lighting up with excitement. "I think that's a great idea," he said. "There's definitely a market for that kind of thing here in the city."
I smiled, feeling a sense of hope. Maybe, just maybe, I could make a success of myself here.
The guard stood up, a determined look on his face. "Okay, let's do this," he said. "We'll find you a store room and get you set up. I'll even help you spread the word about your designs."
I felt a surge of gratitude towards the guard. He was really going out of his way to help me.
"Thank you," I wrote, my eyes welling up with tears. "I really appreciate your help."
The guard smiled and clapped me on the back. "Don't mention it," he said. "We're in this together now."
The guard's words filled me with a sense of determination. I was going to make this work, no matter what.
"Okay, let's get started," I wrote, a smile spreading across my face.
The guard nodded, a grin matching mine. "I'll go find a store room for you. You start thinking about what kind of designs you want to create."
I nodded, already mentally sketching out ideas. As the guard left, I felt a sense of excitement building inside me. This was it, my chance to start over and create a new life for myself and my child.
I spent the rest of the day brainstorming ideas and making lists of materials I would need. The guard returned a few hours later, looking pleased with himself.
"I found a great store room for you," he said. "It's in a good location, and the rent is reasonable."
I smiled, feeling a sense of relief. "That sounds perfect," I wrote. "Thank you so much for your help."
The guard smiled back, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Anytime," he said. "I'm just glad I could help. Now, let's go take a look at the store room."
I nodded, feeling a sense of excitement. This was it, the start of my new life.
What challenges will i face with my new life?
Aurora's pov Building up a business wasn't easy. It was tough and stressful, but the people were cooperating, and I was beginning to get accepted in the city. The alpha's guard was also of great help to me.But I had a surprising visit by the alpha and beta one morning at my workplace."Good day, the mysterious girl, or should I say, Aurora," the alpha said, standing behind me.I turned with a surprise look, as he was standing with a big smile. "I can see you are making progress with your business. I am very proud of you, despite being a visitor at my city. You wasted no time trying to make your stand," the alpha said, nodding his head as he looked around my store."But you didn't see it fit to inform us of your plan, until we had to get the information," the beta said, rolling his eyes."Come on, I know she was too busy and she wanted to wait until she had it all settled out," the alpha said, his eyes never leaving mine. All I could do was nod my head."Fine, let's leave it that way
Aurora's pov The alpha turned back to me, a curious expression on his face.I wrote on my notepad, "Wait, alpha. Can I ask you something?" "Of course, Aurora. What is it?" He asked.I wrote on my notepad, "Why are you being so kind to me? I'm just a stranger in your city."The alpha's expression softened, and he looked at me with a gentle smile. "You're not just a stranger, Aurora," he said. "You're a member of our community now. And as the alpha, it's my duty to protect and care for all members of our community, including you."I felt a warmth in my heart at his words. No one had ever shown me such kindness and acceptance before. The alpha continued, "Besides, I think you have a lot to offer our community, Aurora. Your skills as a fashion designer are impressive, and I think you could bring a fresh perspective to our city."I blushed at his praise, feeling a sense of pride and accomplishment. The alpha smiled again and patted me on the shoulder. "I'm glad we had this talk, Aurora.
Aurora's pov The alpha's eyes seemed to bore into mine, as if he was searching for any sign of fear or weakness. "But don't worry, Aurora," he said, his voice softening. "I'll do everything in my power to protect you. You're under my protection now, and I won't let anyone harm you not even my beta."I felt a sign of gratitude in me at the alpha's words. No one had ever offered to protect me before, and I didn't know how to respond. The alpha seemed to sense my emotions, and he reached out to place a hand on my shoulder. "You're safe now, Aurora," the alpha said, his voice low and soothing. "I promise you that."I nodded, feeling a sense of relief. For the first time in a long time, I felt a little bit like I could finally relax, like I was finally safe, .But as I looked up at the alpha, I saw something in his eyes that made me feel uneasy. It was a look of intensity, and of demanding total attention of love, and it made me wonder if I had just traded one danger for another.I tried
Aurora's pov I threw off the covers and got out of bed, feeling a mix of relief and exhaustion. I stumbled to the bathroom to start my morning routine, hoping that a hot shower and some fresh clothes would help me shake off the lingering unease from the night before. As I dressed and made my way to the kitchen, I couldn't help but think about the alpha and the beta. What was going on between them, and why did they both seem so interested in me?I pushed the thoughts aside and focused on making some breakfast. As I ate, I noticed that the guard was already waiting for me outside my door."Good morning, ma'am," he said, nodding at me. "I'll be escorting you to work today."I nodded, feeling a sense of relief that I wouldn't have to navigate the city on my own. As we walked to the store, I couldn't help but notice the way the guard seemed to be scanning the crowds, his eyes watchful and alert."Is everything okay?" I asked him, writing on my notepad. The guard nodded. "Yes, ma'am. Just
Aurora's povThe figure stepped forward, revealing a hooded face. I couldn't see his features, but his eyes gleamed in the moonlight."Who are you?" I wrote on my notepad, holding it up for the figure to see.The figure hesitated, then pulled back its hood, revealing a shocking face, as my mind flashes back to remember. It was one of the alpha's guards, the alpha's personal guard."I'm here to warn you, Aurora," the guard said, his voice low and urgent. "The alpha is not what he seems. He has a hidden agenda, and you're right in the middle of it."I felt a chill run down my spine as I processed the guard's words. What could the alpha possibly want from me?"What do you mean?" I wrote on my notepad, my hand shaking slightly. The guard looked around nervously, as if he feared being overheard. "The alpha is searching for something," he said. "Something that could give him immense power. And he thinks you're the key to finding it."I felt like I'd been punched in the gut. What could I pos
Aurora's povAnd truly it was as down goes his head to the ground. It was truly painful to watch, as tears rolled down my eyes. My body felt weak, the guard was truly dead. "And now this is what we call justice," my personal guard whispered in my ears.It was as if I should just vomit as I watched Ryder's lifeless body slump to the ground. The sound of his head hitting the stone floor was still echoing in my mind, and I couldn't shake the feeling of horror and disgust. As I stood there, frozen in shock, my personal guard words were filled with irony, and I could sense the underlying criticism of the alpha's regime.I felt a surge of anger and frustration. How could this be considered justice? That guard was warning me about the alpha's true intentions, and now he was dead. It was clear that the alpha would stop at nothing to maintain his power and control. As I stood there, trying to process what I had just witnessed, I felt a gentle tug on my arm. My personal guard was guiding me awa
Aurora povI stood there staring at him to get an answer, then he broke the silent."Rumors have it that there are some people forming alliances to bring me down," the alpha said, his words filled with confidence. "So, before they increase in population, deceiving people and also brainwashing my citizens to start a war against me, I had to fish them out and do what has to be done."I looked at him, trying to see some signs of deceit or lies, but there were none. All I could see was the truth, which made me even more confused. Was it possible that the alpha was telling the truth, and that Ryder had indeed been a traitor? Or was the alpha just a skilled manipulator, able to make me believe whatever he wanted? I couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to the story than what the alpha was letting on.I stared at the alpha, searching for any sign of deception or manipulation. But as I looked into his eyes, I saw only sincerity and conviction. His words were laced with all sorts of d
Aurora povBut actually it was the thought of the beta. Ever since that drama that happened that day in the room I haven't seen him.I quickly pulled out my notepad and wrote, "What about your beta?"I stared at the alpha's face, eager to get an answer. He smiled, but it seemed forced."Oh, I sent him on a mission, but you don't need to bother yourself. He would be back soon," the alpha said.I raised an eyebrow, confused and at the same time scared. "What type of mission?" I wrote, looking confused. The alpha chuckled. "Come on, it's nothing much. He just went to secure our Eastern border," he said, but his tone seemed unconvincing.I narrowed my eyes, sensing that the alpha was hiding something. Securing the Eastern border sounded like a vague excuse, and I couldn't wrap the feeling that there was more to the story.I wrote another question on my notepad, "How long will he be gone?"The alpha's smile faltered for a moment before he regained his composure. "Oh, not long. Just a few w
Aurora pov The guard's eyes widened in shock as he read what I wrote."But none of them was the rapist, right?" he asked.I answered with a nod."Oh, this would be difficult for the beta than I expected," the guard said with a forced smile.I also forced a smile back. How would my lies about the rape case end? I thought. The beta would not be ready to give up.I tried to push the thought aside, not wanting to dwell on the consequences of my actions. But it was hard to shake off the feeling of unease that had settled in my stomach. The guard, seemingly oblivious to my inner turmoil, continued to chat with me, asking me questions about my day and my thoughts on the alpha and beta. I responded politely, trying to keep up the charade, but my mind was elsewhere. As the conversation went on, I found myself growing more and more anxious. I knew I had to keep up the lie, but it was getting harder and harder to do so. The guard seemed nice, but I couldn't trust him completely. What if he disc
I stood there in front of him with a lot on my mind. I had to find a way to make him not say a word to Asher, because if it reached Asher's ears about my location and my progress in this city, he would come after me.I held my notepad with my pen tight in my hand, as I had a lot to write to try to convince him."Let me check to see if the coast is clear for you to go," Ryker said, trying to peek through from the corner where we were standing. But I dragged him back to me."What!" he yelled with a low voice, looking at me strangely.I quickly wrote on my notepad, showing him right in front of his face: "It's about Asher.""What about him?" he asked, looking confused."Please, I beg of you, don't tell him you saw me here," I wrote.Ryker's expression changed, and he looked at me with a mixture of surprise and curiosity. He took the notepad from me and wrote, "Why not? What does Alpha Asher have to do with you?"I hesitated for a moment, unsure of how much to reveal. But something about
Aurora's pov I was relieved that the beta had dropped the subject of Ryker. I began to scribble some notes on my pad, trying to appear thoughtful. As I wrote, I couldn't help but think about Ryker's unexpected arrival. What was he doing here? And why did he seem to recognize me?I pushed the thoughts aside, focusing on the task at hand. I had to keep up the charade, at least for now."I think I remember something," I wrote, I remember he was very tall."The beta's eyes lit up with interest. "That's a great lead," he said. "I'll make sure to investigate further."I nodded,I had managed to deflect the beta's suspicions, at least for now. But I knew that I couldn't keep up the act forever. Eventually, the truth would come out, and I would have to face the consequences.Let's go back to the alpha, the beta said, as we both turned to the alpha with a faded smile. We walked up to the alpha, as the alpha was expecting either one of us to say something."I think we have overstressed Aurora f
Aurora's pov There was no sign of giving up from the alpha and beta, as they were both determined. I just stood there in shock, staring at the both of them, as I held my pen tight on my notepad. The alpha noticed my discomfort as he looked at me with a worried look. "Do you have anything to write that could help us?" the alpha asked.I didn't even nod or shake my head; it was as if my whole body was frozen, with my eyebrows widely open."Hmmm, I understand we are stressing you, judging from your condition," the alpha said, "but I just want to tell you that we mean well for you."I let out a deep breath of frustration, as I was getting tired of the situation. The whole room was filled with silence, as both the beta and alpha had nothing else to say. Then, after what felt like eternity, there was a knock at the door that broke the silence."Who is there?" the alpha yelled, as his voice gave me a bit of fear. The door cracked open, and it was one of the beta's guards. "You came with goo
Aurora pov Just when the alpha was about to speak, the beta's phone rang. "Sorry, my alpha," the beta said, walking away from us to a corner of the room.I turned to the beta, trying to hear his conversation, but all I could hear was just murmurs. A while later, he walked back to us, looking at us with a big smile on his face."It looks like my investigation is moving faster than I expected," the beta said. "Aurora, immediately after we spoke yesterday night, I called some of my sources, and they were able to get me some information which I would say would be quite useful for me.""Wait, you two spoke last night?" the alpha asked, looking confused."Just forget about that, my alpha," the beta said. The alpha turned to me, but I only gave a faded smile."My sources said they just caught two suspected rapists," the beta said. "I think Aurora should follow me, maybe she could recognize something."Immediately, the beta spoke those words, my heart started racing fast, and I began trembli
Aurora pov I stood there, my heart pounding out of my chest, as they both stared at me. Waiting for me to start writing, I held my notepad tight to my chest, my finger tapping at the surface of the notepad, not knowing what to say, thinking of different things to say."I believe you have rested enough, Aurora," the alpha said, his voice raising in venom. "Time to start writing, because I can't accommodate a child, who we don't know who the father is.""You want to still bring that up again?" the beta asked."Yes," the alpha replied, "and moreover, you spoke something about Aurora hiding something. Is there anything I need to know?" The alpha asked, his eyes narrowing at me.Maybe the alpha knows about the beta's past, I thought to myself. I have to tell him to take the attention away from me.I opened my notepad to write: "Am sorry I was afraid to tell you, but I was raped."They both came nearer to read what I wrote."What?" the alpha exclaimed. "Am very sorry, I know how you feel.
Aurora's pov The guard's eyes locked onto mine, filled with a deep sadness. "You see, ma'am, the beta's anger against rape isn't just about justice. It's personal. And now, with your... situation, he's even more driven to uncover the truth."I felt a cold creeping all over my body as I realized the gravity of my actions. I had unwittingly dragged the beta's dark past into the spotlight, and now he was more determined than ever to uncover the truth. The guard's voice brought me back to reality. "Please, ma'am, you must promise me that you won't tell the beta that I told you this. He would never forgive me if he knew that I had shared this with you."I nodded, still trying to process the weight of the guard's words. I felt like I was trapped in a web of my own making, with no clear escape.I nodded again, trying to reassure the guard that I would keep his secret. He looked at me with a serious expression, then nodded and unlocked the door.As he opened the door, I saw the beta standing
Aurora's pov Despite pushing the feeling aside, it still kept disturbing me. It just seemed like the more I was trying to find a way out, the more I was multiplying my problems. Adding more lies wasn't the best idea I would have come up with, but the deal had already been done. I would have to face the consequences.I felt unease as the guilt settled in the pit of my stomach. Every time I thought about the web of lies I had spun, I felt like I was drowning in my own deceit. The beta's words kept echoing in my mind "I'll will find thr rapist no matter what it takes." But what if he didn't? What if the beta saw right through my lies?I felt a cold sweat break out on my forehead as I thought about the possibilities. I had never been a good liar, and now I was trapped in a situation where my lies could have disastrous consequences. As I walked around the room, I couldn't help but feel like I was walking on thin ice. One wrong move, one misstep, and everything could come crashing down aro
Aurora's pov The tension was beginning to increase, as the beta wasn't ready for anymore conversation. "I understand," I wrote, trying to look calm. "But I don't see how finding the person will change anything."The beta's expression turned grim. "It will change everything, Aurora. The alpha will not rest until he finds out who the father of your child is. And if we don't find him first, the alpha will assume it's me. Do you understand what that means?"I just nodded. Because I knew that if the alpha assumed the beta was the father of my child, it would mean disaster for the beta."It means the alpha will punish me, and possibly even exile me from the pack," the beta said, his voice low and serious. "And it will also put you and your child in danger. The alpha will not take kindly to being deceived."I felt fear at the beta's words. I had never intended for things to go this far. I had only been trying to protect myself and my child."What can we do?" I wrote, feeling a sense of des
