Stella cut the call.

Heidi looked at the phone, curious, her frown deepening. As she tapped into the message notification on the screen, she wondered what she was doing.

What kind of a big lie was that? Lucas keeping Tracy in his quarters?

That was ridiculous.

Yet, the picture stared back at her. It was shot at a far angle. Inside the photo was Tracy hugging Lucas.

Heidi's heart jolted and she almost dropped the phone.

She wasn't a stranger to his quarters back at the Harrisons Mansion. Even though Lucas never let her in there while they were still married and Grandpa Winston had to reserve a guestroom for her in his quarters, she knew the place like the back of her hand.

A text message appeared on the screen. It was from Stella. [This isn't photoshopped. You can see well for yourself.]

Stella was trying so hard to convince her. Heidi shook her head and chuckled, giving back the phone to the bodyguard.

Of course, it wasn't photoshopped. Tracy was pregnant in the photo and Lucas wa

“Hello, Mr. Harrison. It's good to see you.” Switching to professional mode, Isla stood up and shook hands with him. “I heard you've been here since last night,” Lucas said. “How did you know, Mr. Harrison?”“Mira told me through the phone.”‘Oh, really?’ Heidi nodded her head, realization settling in. So he'd been close to his phone, only choosing to ignore her call. “Hey, Heidi. You're back from the hospital.” Lucas sat beside her, his voice soft with tenderness. “Are you feeling better now?”Heidi hesitated before answering, catching a strange fragrance from his shirt which didn't belong to him. “Y-Yeah. Dr. Shawn treated me well.”“Good. Drake is on the run. The Police are searching for him. I'll get justice for you very soon.”Heidi pressed her lips together, nodding to his words. Then he stood up and left for the stairs. Heidi's eyes followed his back, many questions bugging her mind. Lucas didn't even apologize for leaving her stranded in the hospital. Did she even want h

The bodyguard handed Heidi his phone. Once again, Heidi was forced to look at the photos of Lucas and Tracy. Wearing the same business suit he left the Villa in, in the first photo, he held the jacket in his hands, and in the second photo, he wrapped the jacket around Tracy. Heidi gripped the phone.Taking in a deep breath, she shoved the phone back into the bodyguard's hand, dreading to see more of those photos. “But the Madam told me you must see this.” He showed her the screen which displayed a photo of Lucas carrying Tracy like a bride and heading back to his quarters. Heidi's anger skyrocketed and she yelled at him, “Will you leave me alone!? What's your business with Lucas and me by the way? Be careful or I'll have you fired!”“Madam, please forgive me.” The bodyguard lowered his head. “I was only carrying out orders.”“Well, get out!” Heidi snapped, pointing to the door. “Never enter here without permission!”The bodyguard left. The glint in his eyes and the suggestive smile on his face had Heidi's heart racing. She shuffled backward until her back hit the bed's headboard. “Hey, don't come close. Lucas Harrison, don't even think about it.”“Think about?” He reached out and swept her hair aside. Heidi glared at him. “You have already taken a bath, so get out.”But the stubborn man didn't listen to her warning. He leaned forward until there wasn't a space of breath between them. Trapping her to the bed, he brushed his lips against hers. “Why do you seem mad, Heidi?” He whispered. Heidi swallowed, praying he couldn't hear her heartbeat. “Who said I'm mad?”“Your actions,” he responded. “You've been like this since morning.”“Is it because I didn't return to the hospital last night?” Lucas added softly. “I'm sorry…”Last night? What about this afternoon? Her mind went back to those photos with him and Tracy and Heidi shut her eyes, taking in a deep breath. ~Lucas headed to the guest room, his mind racing with thoughts.Luckily, he had some extra clothes there. He'd heard her cry. He wasn't imagining things. What the hell was wrong with her? After changing into his pyjamas, he neither lay down nor wallowed in those thoughts. Lucas left the building and strode to the servants' quarters. He banged on Mira's door and her scream sounded from the inside.“Ahhh! Who's it!? Is it a robber!?”“Come out!” Lucas shouted. “Young Master!” She gasped. A shuffling sound came then her footsteps skittered to the door. Mira flung the door open, staring at him with fear in her eyes. “H-How may I help you, Young Master? Is Madam alright?”“What did you do to Heidi?”“M-Me?” She pointed to herself, her body shaking. “I- I didn't do anything, Young Master. I know you're joking.” She staggered forward. “I just want to show you something. Our baby- it kicked.”Ignoring her, Lucas shouted out to the bodyguards. “Who the hell let her out!?”They all came running after her, and two of them grabbed her arms. “We are sorry, Young Master. She tricked us by saying she wanted to throw up outside.”“Why didn't you make her throw up in the bathroom?”“She said her pregnancy doesn't allow her to perceive the smell of the bathroom. She might lose the baby-”“Does that even make sense!” Lucas scolded. “If you let her out one more time, you will all lose your jobs!”“Yes, Young Master!”The bodyguards nodded concurrently. It was the reason why Lucas couldn't disclose the news about visiting the Mansion. Heidi would ask why his constant visits and would find it suspicious. He'd had to be forced to spill the whole truth. “Can you inform the Doctor to make preparations for Grandpa's trip?” Lucas said to the Butler. “Right away, Young Master.” The Butler nodded and walked out of the bedroom. Alone with Grandpa Winston in the room, Lucas couldn't help but share the thoughts bugging his mind. “Heidi has been acting weird recently. It is scary how easily she gets angry.”“Have you asked her why she gets angry?” Grandpa Winston smiled. “The maid told me it is mood swings. How true is that?”He doubted if leaving her by herself alone at home was even a good idea. With Heidi's recurrent anger, wouldn't she feel murderous sometimes?Grandpa chuckled at his words, his eyes squinting tauntingly. “Is she not pregnant?”“So it's normal,” Lucas murmured, wishing there was a way to cure that strange symptom. ...At The Harrisons Villa. Heidi was on her feet, hands trembling with the phone in them as she stared at the phone's screen. Her body shook and so did her heart. Inside the living room, the bodyguard stood in front of her. “Why? Why? Have I not warned you never to show me this again?” Heidi stared from him to the photo on the phone's screen, her heart racing uncomfortably. “Don't you understand a simple command!?”She tossed the phone across the floor, breaking it into pieces. Inside the phone was a photo of Lucas, wearing the same clothes from this morning, and holding Tracy in the Mansion. As if posing for the camera, one of his hands was placed on Tracy's baby bump, and Tracy's hand was wrapped around his neck. “Are you dumb or what!?” She yelled at the bodyguard. Heidi sprang to a sitting position instantly, hearing the voice coming from the door. Dread washed over, and instinctively, she pulled her baby into her arms, her eyes darting around for any possible escape route. Heidi's first instinct was to flee, but to where?“Daddy?” Her daughter, on the other hand, jumped in excitement. “Hey, Mommy! It's Daddy! Daddy's here!”The door's handle shifted as someone juggled it from the outside. The sounds of knocking increased. “Heidi, are you inside?”Lost at what to do, Heidi just stared at the door, hugging her baby. Lucas barged into the room as he kicked the door open. He came to a screeching halt right in front of her, almost colliding into the bed. “Heidi…” as he whispered her name, Heidi's eyes locked into his. Except for the subtle changes; his once dark eyes now crystal clear, his stubbled jaws and overall demeanor, everything about him was the same. Heidi was confused too that of all people, Harold Olsen was the one who believed her.But from the look of guilt on his face and the way he sank onto the floor, literally kneeling in front of her, something was definitely fishy. “Heidi, please forgive me.”Heidi flinched when he held her knees. She stared at him, frowning. “Forgive you for what, Uncle?”“What did you do Dad!?” Zach hollered, his eyes filled with horror. The others looked fearful as well.Hanging his head, Harold shook it slowly. “I know saying this is probably too late. That night, Heidi didn't lose her child. When the police found her and Natalie, I orchestrated everything that happened after.”Several gasps spread across the room.Avoiding everyone's gaze, Harold said in a melancholic tone. “Having Heidi and Lucas Harrison together at that time meant the end of my sovereignty in this family. I did that to strip Heidi of her position- and…” He

All eyes snapped in Heidi's direction. As her sobs echoed in the living room, they all but sprang to their feet. “Ha! I'm also seeing her!” Natalie gasped. “That's impossible, right?”“Unless we're all out of our minds!” Kate cackled. “Because we all might be seeing Heidi.”Lifting her head, Heidi glanced at everyone's face. Her gaze stopped at her mother whose expression was deadly pale. “Th- This- This isn't Heidi. ~During the car ride, Heidi's mind was muddled with different kinds of thoughts that brought worry to her heart. Her only solace was the little girl sitting beside her, holding her hand. “You're so quiet, Mommy…” she asked, “Is everything alright?”Heidi smiled, parting her hair to the side. “I'm okay, Baby.”“Where are we headed?” She murmured, glancing out of the car's window. “You brought me back, Mommy. Are you gonna drop me off at Nanny's place and disappear again.”Smoothing the tiny frown on the girl's forehead, Heidi's heart ached as she kept repeating that word. Disappearing hadn't be easy, and appearing again would definitely incure many repercussions. Heidi picked her up and sat her on her lap, hugging her. “I'd rather die than to disappear again.”Here she was, loathing death, something she'd actually been craving for the past three years. Her heart was an ocean of emotions and her tears never dried up, so much that her eyes were hurting. “Please, Mommy, stop crying

“For the first time, I'm agreeing with Jason's words.” Freya nodded. “Let's return her to the poor man, Heidi. We'll stay in this paradise forever.”“Don't mind them, I won't let you go.” Heidi patted her hair. She stared at Jason and Freya, communicating with her eyes. The two gave her crestfallen looks and sighed at the same time. That Night;Heidi rested on her bed, holding the baby close, and sniffing the familiar scent on her. Citrus mixed with lavender. The scent of the Harrisons Villa. A scent that only belonged to the man she loved. Whenever she thought of him in the past, she'd feel hate and remorse, but now… the thought of him brought fear to her heart, and a regret she couldn't deny. Beside her, the little girl shifted. She opened her sleepy eyes, her wide milky eyes blinking. “Why aren't you sleeping, Mommy?”“I just love staring at you.” H

From caressing the girl's hair, Heidi found herself drawing her close, wrapping her in a gentle embrace. “What's your name?” Uncertainty filling her heart, she asked in a hoarse voice. The little girl neither struggled nor made a sound of discomfort, she in fact snuggled deeper into Heidi's embrace. She murmured, “Nanny calls me Didi, but Daddy calls me Heidi.”Heidi shut her eyes, swallowing down a sudden lump in her throat. A soft laughter escaped her lips. “That's a beautiful name you have, Baby.”However, the little girl pulled away, furrowing her brows. “But my first Mommy dislikes it. She once argued with Daddy about it.”“Oh, is that so?” Sniffing back the tears threatening to burst out, Heidi forced a smile. “Why doesn't she like your name?”“Because she's a meanie. Too bad none of us can be in charge.”Under the pretense of working for the AG Group and managing the resorts here, Jason had moved to the mystic Island to be with her. One coincidence led to the guy clinging onto her.Driven by curiosity, he'd wandered into this cabin on a particular day, which was rumored to be haunted, and that was how he found her and Freya.
