229. Stalking Her

Heidi entered the car, hesitantly.

It was hard to recognize the guy's face, even though he didn't care to wear a mask. He probably didn't even care whether she knew him or not.

“Sit properly,” he commanded. “And don't even try to make a fuss.”

Well, his voice sounded familiar. Wasn't he the same guy Heidi had bumped into at the mall?

Heidi knew better to remain silent, curious as to where he was taking her.

With the current anxiety and devastation, her mind was somehow numbed to fear.

The guy dropped his gun inside the car's compartment, between the passenger's seat and the driver's seat.

Heidi wondered if he did it intentionally because he was very skilled, or maybe he was simply dumb.

Of all things, why didn't she learn how to operate a gun?

“Quit whatever silly thoughts you're having.” His eyes fixed on the road, he sounded as if he noticed the curiosity in her eyes as she stared at the gun.
