Sitting in the passenger's seat, Tracy appeared gloomy, anxiously fiddling with her fingers.

She sniffed back her tears constantly, filling his car with her tiny sobs.

“What's the point of crying? It's not like the bad thing has already occurred.”

“But it is bound to happen if you keep treating me this way. Honey, won't you look at my condition and start treating me nicely?”

Lucas wasn't the type to suppress his emotions, pretending to feel the opposite of what was actually in his mind.

Could he pretend to adore her when he no longer wanted to?

“You are quiet,” Tracy whispered, seemingly offended. “Why don't you say anything? Will you promise to protect my feelings or risk losing your baby?”
