The Finalé of Shift
I can't believe I'm actually here. We are at the end of Shift. Done. Complete. Marked and mated. ;)
First off, thank you. All of you. Every single one who liked, who commented, who corrected my spelling, who didn't do anything but just read. Every single one of you have stuck with me and I can only hope that you guys enjoyed a peek into the lives of Sky, Ethan, Justin, Emmett, Kev, Sam, Kat, Caleb...and so many other characters. They are near and dear to my hearts and I honestly will say, closing this last chapter out was such a heartfelt moment for me.
I could not have continued this without my regulars. You know who you are and I just want to say even when I felt down, I knew I had to keep going because I honestly didn't want to disappoint. As a lot of you know, I struggle with being sick a lot. So having my writing means so much to mean and having you guys be so patient during that time means the world to me. Especially when it feels like there is so much negativity on the internet.
If you haven't already, please, review Shift. Give it whatever stars you feel is right. I just does help to have that boost and I really would love people to come in and read your experiences and then be able to know that this isn't just all fluff and fuck. :D There is some but you know. ;) I enjoy a good crying session.
I get a lot of questions and I will go into more detail on my social, but specifically I've been asked about Kev, Sam, Emmett, and everyone and it feels like there wasn't a wrap up with them. For me, this wasn't about them. They do have their lives. Kev has his struggles with his first mate and that rejection. Sam and Emmett are going to have a long road ahead of them. Caleb taking over the pack and maybe giving Snow White a chance. There are so many characters I could completely elaborate on but Shift isn't their story. Shift is Sky's story. Yes, Ethan and Justin too. But mostly it's her story of growning and learning and becoming someone she can be proud of. Will there be second? Maaaaaaaybe. ;) I won't give a time. It definitely won't be this year. But I will say that I love these characters so much and I think there is room for them to grow and there are still obstacles that they have to face in the future that it would be easy to slip back in. :) If you want, follow me on social media. My eyes watched as the teachers and staff lost complete control of the kids. Kids now ran out of the buildings, joining the amassing group. They tried to stop them, realizing that the alarms were just pulled and nothing was going on, but it was too late. Our plan had worked. Now the next phase was going to start. I nodded. “I’ll be fine. We only have a little bit of time left. Then, we’ll be opening up Carl’s Automotive 2.0.” He shook his head and laughed. “Y’all better not call it that. Go get me a damn fuel hose so we can get started.” Skipping away, I headed to the back warehouse of the shop. When I finally found the hose and pulled it, another car had shown up and Emmett was helping them, writing notes on the issues they were coming in with.
