MORGAN'S POV:

"Morgan, you can't be doing this right now."

My voice was as shaky as my hands right now. "I have to," I said, brushing through my hair hastily. "I have to leave. Now. I can't stay here any longer." I dropped the brush on the bed and picked up a small pocket mirror. My eyes shone with tears, tears that I would not let fall no matter what the hell happens.

"Morgan, it's two am. It's dark out there and it's not safe."

I swerved around and met Winston's eyes. Deep down I felt really guilty right now. He just finished an eighteen hour surgery, he shouldn't have to deal with me right now. His eyes are dull, and there's dark circles under his eyes. He has barely gotten the time to change out of his scrubs and into his day clothes before the nurse ran out, calling his attention that I was trying to leave.

I would have used the window so no one knew about it, but she just had to be a loud mouth. And now I've got him worried about me.

"Winston," I walked up to him, "you look exh

MORGAN'S POVI hadn't expected a mini party when I came back. Confetti exploded in the air, colorful bits of paper and glitter all littered on the floor. A loud should of "Welcome back!" Rang through the air, and I couldn't help the small smile on my lips."Thank you, everyone," I said, scanning the faces of my workers. They looked happy to see me, and while I didn't understand that, I was glad. "Miss Rosewood! You're back!" I nodded, flashing a calm smile at Nora. "Yes Nora, thank you. It's good to be back. The meeting is still on in five minutes right?"Nora nodded. "Yes. We didn't think you'd be discharged anytime soon so we....""It's fine," I put a warm hand over her shoulder. Morgan's POV:"You actually came," Winston said, surprise visible in his eyes."What, you didn't believe me when I said I would?""Not that," He laughed softly. "You know, the last time I proposed something like this I didn't see you again."Ah yes, the very first time we met after I had spent so long running away from him. I laughed softly. "Yes, don't remind me."He took off his glasses and folded them carefully on his desk. That way I could see his eyes better. "So, the important thing you had to do, did you get it done?""Yes, I most certainly did." I said, remembering the flash. "What are we doing for tonight? Surely you're not going to confine me here, are you?""Not at all. Run some tests and see how things are going with you. And after, you'd join me for dinner.""Dinner? My my, you're so sly."His smile made me feel warm all over. "Thank you, I take that as a compliment." He got to his feet. "Come, let's begin the tests."*****The tests didn't take as long as I had expected.

MORGAN'S POV"Just a minor health issue huh?" I grit out, unable to control the anger brewing inside me.Calm down, Morgan. Don't let your emotions get the better of you. Calm down. She's doing this to poke at you, fake concern. She doesn't know you've figured it out. Nova nodded and smiled. "All those nasty rumors talking about cancer and whatever,""Nova," Dante warned. But she completely ignored him."Thank the heavens they were wrong! I can't imagine my darling bestie having cancer or whatever. I can't imagine losing you!"Wow. How fucking rich. She's the one who started all the damned rumours. Being so fucking clever so it won't be traced to her no matter what. Looking at her makes me want to puke. I can't believe this snake was my best friend for so many good years of my life. I can't believe we used to be so damn close. I looked at Dante and the disgust increased ten fold. He chose her over me. She vanished for whatever reasons and when she came back, he tossed me to the cur

Morgan's POV I toyed with the flash drive in my hands, playing with the smooth material of the red plastic under my finger tips.Dante and Nova. Gone. Like poof.I swerved my chair side to side, my mind deep in thoughts. I need to make the perfect strategy. The heat from all those distasteful rumours was starting to die down but every now and then it would be revamped and I would have to deal with that. But, I was handling everything fine. Except in my private life."Miss Rosewood?" A soft voice pulled me out of my thoughts. I snapped my head to the direction of the voice. Seated on the other side of my desk was a woman. Mrs Jersey. Rosewood enterprises had a law department. Morgan Rosewood had her own lawyer. And Mrs Jersey was that woman. Morgan's POV:Stuck in this place with fucking Dante. My day can't get any worse. "Morgan," Dante called, and I felt his hand hovering above my shoulder. "Don't fucking touch me!" I turned around and glared at him. He took a step back. "You're looking at me like this is my fault.""Is it?!" I spat. "Imagine being stuck in here with you!""You make that sound like it's a bad thing,""It is! Everything about you is a bad thing! How can't you see that?!"He ran his fingers through his hair. • She's back   late night whiskey

Morgan's POV:I don't think I drink that much. Personally, I prefer to stay away from alcohol as much as I can. I don't like the taste of it, and I don't like being drunk. But today, I felt like a drink. The meeting had gone well, thankfully. We didn't sign a deal yet but it looked like it was going to happen anytime soon. I was back home, after a long and late night at the office, and I felt like going to the bar.I poured myself a glass of cherry wine I had added some coke to, just to dull down the taste of the alcohol. I added a large ball of ice and sat down at the home bar.Since there were children in the house, the bar was constantly under lock and key with only the adults having access to it. The room was always chilled, a wide assortment of drinks in elaborate wooden shelves all over the walls. The wine cellar was below the room, housing dad's impressive wine collection.I sipped my drink, a soft sigh escaping my lips."You look exhausted." A voice said from the doorway. I t

Morgan's POV:"Mommy! Cole is being mean to me again!" Miranda's scream rang out through the park, so loud that a few parents and even kids paused what they were doing and turned to face her.I blinked out of the fog that gathered in my head. I didn't realize I had been lost in my thoughts till I heard Miranda scream "Cole, please be nice to your sister.""She's not my sister." Cole said and folded his arms, a smug look on his face. "If she were actually my sister, she'll have no problem with us playing together!"I glanced at Miranda. She had her face smothered in custard pie, clunks of it dripping down her chin. I sighed softly and got up from the blanket I sat on."Don't say things like that." I said to Cole, a stern look on my face.Cole chuckled and turned away. He sighted a kid and her dog and ran up to them. While I had to stay behind wiping the mess off Miranda's face."I hate him" Miranda said, her voice cracking. "He's so mean to me."I felt a pang of guilt inside my heart.

Morgan's POVWhen people give speeches about miracles and testimonies that sound absurd, I admire it even though I sometimes find it difficult to believe until now. Staring at my phone which I later found, all I could hear was the silence that had replayed the continuous thudding of my heart. How could a gun pointed at me turn to a confetti popper? "See?" Dante asked after I had stood gazing at my phone for a long time. But I was too deep into reading the news and by the second appearing articles that kept popping up. The tables had drastically been turned in my favour. Instead if getting bashed, I had began to be praised. People all over the net had begun praising and defending me for what I had done and my father was being bashed instead for throwing me out. Some even used their own experiences as an article stating what they had felt when their had divorced their spouse, hailing me for having the courage to do what I did. The picture that Nova had used to try and ruin me was now

I whispered turning to live just as he did, making us bump into each other. "Sorry." We both say moving in the same direction again and bumping into each other, his hands stopping me from falling. When he pulled me up, our faces were barely an inch away from each other. His scent hit me hard — green apples and fresh laundry — and with it came the barrel of emotions and memories. This morning. Imagining his arms around me. His voice in my ear, his lips on my skin. Last night. As I sat in Winston's lap, and thought of him. I remember the day I picked out this specific cologne for him. Our first anniversary of marriage. I had no idea how continued to wear it. How many years has it been?My heart raced so hard. I became aware of him, and only him. Morgan's POV:I found it difficult to breathe as I stared at Dante and my kids walking hand in hand towards the house. Miranda skipped around happily, her free hand holding a juice box which she drank from. Coke was asking Dante something, and he replied with a smile. I stumbled back from the window, my eyes turned to the door.A few minutes later, the doorbell rang out, making me jump. I stared at the door, and my heart thumped erratically in my chest. What do I do now? How...how did Dante get his hands on my kids? How was he able to bypass the surveillance my father had on them?Should I let him in? Or should I take my kids and slam the door in his face. The doorbell rang again. I could hear Miranda's excited squeal. "Is mommy here?" She asked."Yes dear, your mommy is here." Morgan's POV: "It's lovely." I gushed staring at the magical chandeliers wavering directly above giving the room an additive red tint amongst the other gold chandeliers. Our seat was at the window directly facing the entrance of the VIP suite that held ten tables of two. Specially for the best of the best. Winston pilled out a seat for me while sitting on the other one. The waitress's after taking our order, left to fetch it while I kept looking around in awe and surprise. "This is beautiful." I said for the umpteenth time. Winston smiled just as the waitress returned with our order before moving to another table to take theirs. It seemed like she was the one in charge of this suite. I took a bite of my food and nearly moaned. It was so delicious, flavours I hadn't expected burst on my tongue. "Wow, this is so good.""It's one of my favorite places to eat," Winston said.
