Amelia's pov
The second the bell rang I packed my bag and throw the strap over my shoulder. I was out of that class in less than a minute.
"Amelia,"
There goes his smooth husky voice behind me.
I stiffen, looking around for Foster as I try to ignore the brooding guy behind me. He didn't look like someone I'd catch their attention. So it was weird that he was trying to talk to me.
Especially after I saw what he had done to that guy earlier.
Where the hell was Foster?
He said he'd meet me out here to show me to my next class.
"For being so short, you sure do walk fast." Raiden chuckled beside me.
I gulped. He caught up.
I gave him a slight glare from the corner of my eye, as I scooted away from him. " Can you like, leave me alone?"
He raised a thick brow. "Why for?"
I'm about to answer him when Foster calls me over. "Hey Amelia, over here!" He lifted his hand up, gesturing for me to come over.
I looked at Raiden whose brows knot in a frown and then grumble under my breath. "Just stay away from me."
With that, I literally skipped to Foster who looked between Raiden and I. As soon as I was beside him, he interlocks our arms and guides me to my next class.
He didn't say a word yet.
Which was strange.
I'd thought he'd ask me questions about Raiden.
I side eyed him curiously. He was so quiet.
Until he peeked behind us, let out a sigh and then broke the silence. "Amelia, what was Raiden talking to you about?"
Why did he have a pitch of fear in his tone?
Was Raiden that much of a bully?
"He tried to introduce himself. Told him to stay away from me." I answered after a ticking second.
Foster nod. "I think you did good. Those guys and their friends are people to stay away from."
My brows furrowed. I saw Raiden punching a guy earlier, but I wondered why Foster seem so tense when talking about him.
Does he bully Foster too?
Curiosity won, and I found myself asking Foster. "Does he hit you too?"
Foster glanced at me quickly from the corner of his eye and replied. "No. He doesn't hit people like us. But it would still be best to stay away from him and his friends."
I gnawed on my lips. There are those words again. People like us. What did he mean by that?
I'm about to question him further until he cuts me off. "We're here. Have fun in your history class, I'll meet you outside to bring you to your next." He smiled at me and bid me goodbye before I could ask him anything.
I sighed and stepped into the class. I was one of the very few who were already here. And......that guy Raiden was feeding his fists to.
He sat at the back, slouched back in a cocky way as two pretty girls sat on his desk. His arms are wrapped around both.
They giggled at something he said and his smirk widened.
But that's not what keeps my eyes glued to his. It's the fact that his face, especially his jaw, didn't look like it suffered any fist to it. He looked unscathed.
I quickly tear my eyes away when his eyes snapped up to mine. I flushed.
He caught me looking.
I quickly made my way over to an empty desk and chair. Away from the guy.
I could feel his stare on me when I plop down on the chair. I didn't like his stare and shivered.
"Hey new girl."
I stiffened.
It was obvious he was trying to get my attention.
I squirmed and slowly turn my head to look at him. He beamed, teeth flashing.
I flinched.
I could've sworn I saw pointy fangs. But they were gone so quickly that I was convinced I had imagined them.
"Name?"
Did I want to give this guy my name?
For all I know he could also be one of Raiden's friends and they were just playing rough. Guys were like that in my old school.
I let out a faint exhale.
It's not like he'd not know my name eventually.
"Amelia."
His grin broadened. "Pretty name for a pretty human girl." He stressed on the word human which made me grow confused.
I turned back around, getting creeped out with the way he was basically eye rapping me.
Shaking my head, I pulled out my stuff and got ready for class.
A few minutes later and the class was piling up. There was only one empty chair left. That chair so happened to be beside me.
The teacher strolled in. A man in his mid-thirties perhaps. He looked young.
He set his bag on the desk, scanning around the entire class. His eyes fall on me and they shone in interest.
"You're new here, right?"
I nod, biting my lip and squirming when all heads turn to me.
"Welcome to Creek High. Where weird shit happens." He grinned.
The entire class burst into laughter. I cracked a smile too. It was kind of refreshing to have an easy-going teacher here. The last one seemed a bit stiff and cold.
"I'm Mr. Scott, your history teacher. And no, I'm not going to talk about Romeo and Juliet. Leave that for the drama class. I don't have enough tissues for everyone here."
Everyone laughed again, until suddenly the classroom went silent.
The door opens, hard boots hitting the tiles. I looked up from the boots, freezing when my eyes met green.
God. Him again!? Is he in every single class I have?
"Raiden," Mr. Scott sighed with a shake of his head. "May I know why you are a tad bit late?"
Raiden grinned, his white teeth flashing. The sight of it, weirdly made my stomach flip.
"Got lost." He shrugged.
Mr Scott rolled his eyes and shooed him away. "Just take a damn seat you overgrown teenager. "
Raiden smirked and started walking......over here.
I bent my head, praying he'd not acknowledge me. However I knew that the only seat left was the one just beside me.
It was unlikely for us to not interact.
I was just thinking of ways I could avoid talking to him, or looking his way when his smooth masculine voice grumble above me.
"You're in my seat."
♡ Amelia's pov ♡I frowned.I was in his seat?I looked at the desk closely, it was new and unmarked.I looked up and my eyes connected with those green swirls that made my stomach knot.I ignored the feeling and voiced. "Your seat?"The tip of Raiden's lips curled up into a barely there smirk. "Yes, Amelia,"The way he said my name. I clenched my thighs together. What the hell was that feeling?"You're in my seat." He finished with a broader grin.My frown deepened. Was he so much of a jerk to actually make me change seats!?I scowled. "There's an empty chair here." I pointed at the vacant chair and desk beside me."But I don't want to sit there. I want my seat." He stressed, eyes flashing in amusement.I looked behind him at Mr. Scott, expecting him to tell Raiden to find another chair, one preferably vacant. But Mr. Scott was actually avoiding staring at us.I looked around the entire room. Everyone seemed to look at me with pity. Were they all afraid of Raiden? Was he some kind of
Raiden's pov" You've been giving that new girl attention all day today. Are you sure you don't want to bone that human?" Damon snorted, side-eyeing me.Lester pushes forward, his forearms on the seats. "The small blonde girl?" He questioned with furrowed brows.I rolled my eyes. "Jesus fucking Christ Damon, of course not. I was just teasing the damn girl."Damon snorted. "Teasing her eh? You were eye fucking her in the class, during lunch and literally was looking for the girl before we left. Bruh that little human caught your attention."I let out a groan running my hand down my face. "I don't care for humans, especially to fuck them."Damon laughed. "You probably shouldn't, they couldn't handle us any way."Lester snorted. "You toy with human girls on a regular Damon."Damon shrugged. "Yeah but at least they are bigger than that tiny girl. One thrust and she breaks. She won't be able to take on a wolf's cock."I grit my teeth. Somehow I didn't like the way he spoke about her. But
Amelia's povHer hostile voice didn't catch me off guard. I could somehow already sense she was a bitch as soon as she stepped into the diner. And her being around Raiden only proved her nasty personality. You'd have to be equally evil for you to be with a bully like Raiden.I narrowed my eyes, standing up, making her arch her neck. " And I am done listening," I uttered with no emotion in my voice and leaned forward slightly. " What will you do about it?" I arched a challenging brow. She looked surprised at first but then her eyes flashed an odd color that made me question if it was reality or not. " New girl have some balls," she sneered, gripping the edge of the table.Raiden's hand fall on hers, gripping as he commanded. " Calm down."And she did, slackening in his arms and plastered on a fake smile. " I like a girl who can bite," her girl friends giggled. " Why don't you come to the party I am hosting tomorrow night?"This girl must have a hundred personalities. One minute she is
Amelia's povToday started off as a shitty day. Not only did I get soaked to the bone because of the rain but the fans in the bathroom were not bloody working. It was freezing, I was freezing, I was literally shivering and there was no heat in this school. I groan, kicking the edge of the stall. The weather had looked pretty clear before leaving the house yet when dad dropped me off, suddenly the heavens poured on me."Hey," some girl in the stall I had just kicked shout. "You're disturbing my shit."I scrunched up my nose and decided I needed someone to help me. But I didn't really know anyone here yet and I wasn't sure Foster or Pickett was here. I got out of the bathroom and looked around.I was super early and the hallways were not crowded as yet. I sighed in relief when I spotted the short familiar girl with curly hair standing before a locker I presume is hers. I rush over to her, hoping Pickett would help me.She's startled a little at my appearance. " Please tell me you can he
Amelia's povI licked my lips, lifting one of my brow. " You know, where I am from, this is considered bullying and harassment."Look away Amelia. Don't stare into his stunning eyes. They'll trap you and make you feel things you've never felt before. One of his thick brows angled up in an amused arch. "Hmm. Where I am from, it mostly means I want to be friends with you."My nose wiggled as if I had smelt something nasty, which was the lies coming from his pillowy looking lips. "Bullshit. You don't want to be friends with me."His eyes danced and his eyes fall to my lips. "You're right. I don't want to be friends with you Amelia," the tip of his tongue draw out of his mouth and he brush it across his bottom lip, causing a stir in my soul. " I want something more." My heart skipped a sharp beat at his words and I interlocked my fingers, licking my rather dry lips as I looked away. " Well you better give up now, because you won't get it anything more." I heard his breathy snort before
Amelia's pov" Please tell me this isn't Raiden's hoodie," Foster's lips are slackened into a gape as he stared at the very oversized hoodie currently swallowing my petite figure.I winced, my fingers playing with the strap of my bag. " It is, but I am to return it later on."Foster looks terrified. " Amelia," he swallowed and looked behind me. Intrigued, I turn to stare at who had made him look like he swallowed a huge marble down his throat. My eyes fall on her, her narrowing eyes lighting up fire on the hoodie. She looks vexed.I rolled my eyes. "He's the one who pushed me to take it. It means nothing and if she has an issue with it, she should speak to him about it." I shrugged. My mom taught me to not fear anyone, including girls like Dayna.Foster doesn't look convinced and swallows, his eyes on Dayna. " I don't know Amelia, she looks pissed off."She does, there's no denying how much steam is coming out from her ears as she shoots me with silent death threats. I tugged at Raide
Amelia's povThe pleasure of feeling her bones break under my knuckles satisfied me enough for me to want to pull my hand back and aim once more. However before I could, Foster grips my hand to stop me and two girls who were beside Dayna held her back as she snarled.I smirked at her as one of the girls lean toward her ear and whispered something that my ears couldn't catch. Whatever she whispered seemed to calm down Dayna who resorted to glaring at me and holding her nose."Sorry, my hand slipped. But I guess we're even now?" I smiled sarcastically, tilting my head and winking at her."What's going on here!" The teacher boomed, seeming now to show his presence. A few minutes earlier would've been much better. The little crowd parted and everyone got to their seats except for Dayna and her friends and me. "New girl punched Dayna unprovoked." Dayna's friend shrilled in, her eyes accusing me. "Wait that's a lie!" Foster yelled and the girl who spoke up turned to give him a hard stare t
Raiden's pov"You're not in this class Raiden," the teacher pointed out bluntly as I slammed the door open.I scan around the room, ignoring the teacher. There's still dirty water on the floor which tells me that the altercation had only happened recently."The principal needs to speak to Dayna." I gritted out when my eyes land on her at the back of the classroom, touching her red nose. From here it looked bad but since she's a shifter it will heal pretty soon. She'd have to postpone it a bit to make it look natural just in case.Dayna looks at me in question, yet there's a hesitant look that crosses her eyes."Are you certain of this?" The teacher baited, already knowing that I was lying. I looked at him, eyes pinning him with a look I knew would make him submit. "Very well." He uttered, motioning his hand for Dayna to stand up."Go to the principal office Dayna.""Raiden man, don't do any shit funny that will get us in trouble with your mom and dad," Damon mumbled behind me. Both he
Raiden's povWhat had I ever seen in Dayna? Why did I ever give her the time of day? Why did it take me this long to realize she was a complete monster? My wolf shook through the restraints of my mind, simmering with rage. I could no longer hold back and stand up, startling Amelia when I heard her soft unexpected gasp. My fists clench at my sides, my claws digging into my palm, trying to stop myself from shifting there and then. With my vision sharpening, I knew I was losing the battle to restrain my wolf. I turn around sharply, of course confusing Amelia, but I had to do it in case I revealed too much way too soon." Raiden?" her soft, confused, questioning tone filter behind me where I had left her. I could not respond, frightened that my tone had shifted to that of my wild nature.' Is Pickett okay?' I question, my blood running cold knowing that the only reason she was targeted was because I took interest...more than just interest in Amelia.' She's shaken up, currently in the med
Raiden's povMy wolf felt it. I felt it. Something about this girl and how she made me feel was different. A good different. And as I stare into her piercing eyes, I register that she is no ordinary human, at least not to me. 'Raiden!' Damon's voice pierces through the mind link, pulling me out of my thoughts that were fueled with only Amelia. My wolf growls at the interruption, more irritated that our attention was cut from Amelia. I reluctantly pull my gaze away from the beauty in front of me, knowing that watching her alone would move me from reality, and judging by the sharpness of Damon's tone......I needed to be in reality now. ' What is it Damon?' I try to keep the irritation of being interrupted out of my voice, especially knowing he wouldn't interrupt if there wasn't an issue. ' Your psycho ex did something man,' his tone comes out shaken as though he couldn't believe something happened. My blood runs cold. Dayna. What had the bitch done this time?' What had she done!?
Amelia's povHis hand was warm, the feeling alone sending jolts of electricity through the veins in my arms until my entire body could feel his touch. His thumb starts to trace little circles on my skin, and I am instantly aware of how much bigger his hands are compared to mine.I swallowed once more. Hating him seemed to be more tortuous for me than it was for him. A shaky breath left my lips as I stare deep into his soul. There's a flash of something in his gaze, a flash of something wild and unknown. But it's quick to leave, quick to hide away from me to understand such a strange emotion.I gulped, my eyes shifting away from the pools that somehow undressed me and left me completely naked and bare. " It's not like I had a choice...." I drawled while trying to keep the vulnerability he seem to push out of me, away from my tone.My eyes on their own, slide down his straight nose to those lips I like to feel sliding across mine. " It seemed as though you'd hunt me down if I did,"A sw
Amelia's povI narrowed my eyes on him while trying to fight off the warm flush creeping up my neck by his words. " You don't get to boss me around," I huffed. Despite my words, I find myself settling on the red and white checkered blanket. I crossed my legs beneath me, thankful when a gust of cool wind brush against my flamed cheeks. I had a feeling my face was red from being teased every second by him. Raiden's lips curved into a grin that made the already wild butterflies in my stomach flutter more savagely. He settles on the blanket, stretching out beside me and angling his body toward me as he propped himself on his elbow. He stares at me intently. " I'm in your head again," he commented with a curved smile. I rolled my eyes and attempted to conceal the fact that he was absolutely right. " You wish," I scowled. Raiden doesn't say a word, only stares at me deeply. I feel instantly bare under his gaze, and with the way his eyes held mine, like he could see right through me...ho
Amelia's povRaiden's smile grew more as he gently pulled me out of the car, his hand strong and warm, clutching me like he was scared I'd let go. The feeling of him holding my hand, just my hand sent more tingles racing through me. My feet sink into the grass, the blades brushing against my ankles. The place felt like it was untouched, like an unrevealed world tucked away from everything else. It felt magical. And as he holds my hand tight while moving to the back to pull out the basket, I can't help but feel like he had brought me here to see a side of him I had never seen before. And perhaps, that was the side I needed to see. Perhaps, that was the side that was the real him. He clasp me like I was his lifeline as he started for the lake, me right by his side. I can't help but steal a glance at him. Trying to build my walls back up seems almost impossible now. Not when I am seeing this side of him. " This doesn't change anything you know," I murmur, my eyes drawing to our inter
Amelia's pov The excitement started to build as we moved deeper into the forest. I am not sure if it was the thrill of the unknown or just the thrill of being alone with Raiden himself, but something was making my heart race and my stomach fill with butterflies. I chewed on my lower lip, wondering if I would ever be able to control myself around him. " Are we there yet?" I cleared my throat, putting some bite into my tone to seem as though I was not looking forward to this date. Raiden glances over at me with that very same infuriating smirk that made my belly do knots. "Someone seems excited," he points out with a glint of happiness in his eyes. I rolled mine and remained quiet. " We're almost there baby," he commented after a little pause. " I know it's a long way but only the best for you. It will be worth it." My heart races faster, the bundle of nerves and excitement making my mind foggy. The way he said 'baby' got under my skin....in a good way. It was intimate and I hate
Amelia's povRaiden's grin widened and I knew he could see right through my lying excuse. " Right baby, let's go with that lie," smirking while he shifts the car back into gear. My ego would not make me stay quiet or let him be right so with a glare I snapped. " It's not a lie!" His chuckles move loud and deep in the confines of the vehicle as he pull away from the curb. " Sure baby," he was clearly amused by my defensiveness. " Keep telling yourself that." I glared at him, feeling my cheeks hot with burning frustration. His cockiness and playfulness were irritating and I hated that he could see right through me. Hiding my true self from Raiden was impossible. He already knew. " I don't know how you manage to be so annoying all the time," I mutter, crossing my arms over my chest and turning away from him so he'd not see the burn of red on my cheeks. Even though I was sure he had already seen it. Raiden didn't reply and I had a feeling he just didn't want to poke the bear also kno
Amelia's povNo, I couldn't fall for him. I wouldn't. My breath catches in my throat and I press my forehead against the glass, hoping that the coolness can somehow stop the heat running through my body. However, it didn't and this time I actually am not surprised. Raiden's mere presence was too overwhelming. I hated him, I should hate him, my mind tells me I should but my heart, it thrums louder the more I think about him......." You're glaring out that window pretty hard," Raiden suddenly joked. " What are you thinking so hard about in that pretty head spitfire?" I bit into the softness of my tongue until it pained as I riled in my emotions, well tried to. I pull back, pressing my back against the seat while my eyes return to the front, dead set on making sure I look nonchalant as possible. " Just trying to figure out a way to jump out of the vehicle and not having to see your face again," I mutter sarcastically. Raiden snorted. " Something tells me you would rather see my fac
Amelia's pov My breath catches in my throat, my cheeks reddening more hot. But it's not the heat of embarrassment that I had hoped for. It's the heat of need, desperate tickling need. Which is all the more frustrating. My pulse is racing and no matter how much I try to deny the feeling he invokes in me, my body betrays me and shows me the truth. " You're annoying," I mutter under my breath in a strained voice. Annoyingly tempting. I gripped the seatbelt around me tighter, my nails scrapping against the material. Would this ground me and make me resist him? No, impossible. I don't think anything would help me in this predicament. Raiden's husky laughter vibrates through the air, the tone setting me on fire. I bit into my lip, pressing my thighs together tighter. He knew what he was doing to me. He knew that he had the control. And I hated it. Despise it. I swallowed hard, the lump in my throat returning the second I felt his eyes on me. I looked out the window, my fingers trembl
