"Georgia! We have to talk," said Valery, who had been biting her nails waiting for her friend to arrive.
"I have nothing to talk with you," growled Georgia, putting on her apron and tying it in the back.
Although Georgia had been so tired the night before that she had brushed off everything that had happened, the truth was that Valery's actions had put her in danger. If she hadn't left her alone, Georgia probably wouldn't have accepted those drinks from a stranger and therefore wouldn't have ended up sleeping at Alessandro's place... thinking of his name, she remembered the text message she still hadn't answered.
If Alessandro thought he had any power in Georgia's life, he was very wrong, and she was going to show him in whatever way she had to.
"Georgia! Wait! You can't run away from me like you're not listening because clearly you are," grumbled Valery, grabbing her friend's arm to stop her.
"I have a lot of things to do, the boss isn't happy with me and I have to fix the dessert display case," she explained with annoyance, partly because she didn't feel like talking to Valery and partly because it was one of her least favorite jobs.
The display case was always cold and it gave her sinusitis to be exposed to the cold for so long.
"You don't have to worry about the boss, he's not here today," explained Valery, although this piqued Georgia's curiosity, she didn't ask about it. "And as for the display case, I can do that job for you, I know how much you hate it."
Valery was trying to buy Georgia's forgiveness and that was obvious.
"Honey, let me explain," pleaded Valery.
That sweet face of Valery's would have moved anyone, except for Georgia.
"What do you want to explain? That you left me alone as soon as we got to the bar? That some man almost made me go with him? That I woke up in a stranger's house who threatened me? All because of what? Why did you want to fuck the first man who crossed your path?"
By the time Georgia finished that tirade, Valery was too confused so she wants to ask many questions, unfortunately Georgia wasn't going to answer them anyway.
"Who did you spend the night with?" was the only thing she dared to ask.
"That's none of your business and leave me alone, I have work to do," Georgia walked away and went straight to the dessert display case, where she stayed for a while, feeling Valery's glances with the corner of her eye.
It was true that the two women weren't going to be angry with each other for long, but Georgia wanted Valery to understand the gravity of her actions. Something bad could have happened to her and Valery wouldn't have known!
With her arm aching and her back tired from being bent over for so long, Georgia decided to take a break, it wasn't yet lunchtime when there were more customers, so the woman could afford to take a break.
"Don't worry, I'm not here to bother you with my questions or my apologies," said Valery dramatically as she approached her. "I just wanted to tell you that the boss is waiting for you in his office."
"You told me he wasn't here today."
"The new boss," explained Valery.
Georgia frowned and went in the direction her friend indicated, when she was in front of the office, she wiped a little of the pastry cream off her apron and fixed the loose hairs that were falling out of her bun.
"Come in!" someone shouted from inside when she knocked on the door.
"I was told to come here."
The man was focused on the computer reviewing the restaurant's accounting, so it took him a few seconds to look up.
"Yes, I'm having a meeting with each..." he looked at Georgia and then had to swallow hard at such beauty in front of him, the man straightened his black tie knot and leaned back in his chair. "Now that I've taken over the management of the restaurant, I want to meet each of the employees," he explained, while sliding his gaze from Georgia's feet to her eyes again.
"I understand," she replied.
Unlike what he did with the rest of the people, the new boss stood up and confidently approached her in an attractive way.
"My name is Doménico," he extended his hand and Georgia shook it kindly.
"I'm Georgia," she smiled.
The handshake lasted a little longer than normal, Doménico didn't want to let go, her skin was soft and the contact was pleasant.
"Tell me a little more about you, Georgia," he invited her to come closer and sit in the chair in front of the desk.
She obeyed, it was easy for her to get along with this kind man. In fact, as rarely in her life, Georgia felt calm telling him about her life, and even though she knew the details weren't very interesting, he seemed interested in each of the things she mentioned.
"You're very young, Georgia, you should be in college, why do you work here?"
That was the first and only question that made the woman uncomfortable. "My grandmother is very sick, she needs medication and care, she's a stubborn woman so she hasn't wanted to live with me, so I have to support two houses," she explained.
"And your parents?"
"They... their voices broke momentarily. "They died when I was just a child, I didn't know them well enough."
Doménico saw her as so weak and fragile that he wanted to hug her to put her broken pieces back together, that woman was different from all the ones he had met before, she wasn't arrogant and didn't seem vain either, despite her beauty, Georgia showed herself as a very humble person and that was an attribute he respected and admired in anyone.
"Georgia, I'm sure you're not used to hearing this kind of thing here, I know my uncle and I know he wasn't the best at treating his employees, but you can be sure that anything you need, my doors are open for you, no matter what it is, ask me and I'll make sure you have it in the palm of your hands," he offered, with the firm conviction of keeping his word.
"The old boss is your uncle?!" she asked amazed, that other man was grotesque, rough, and a little unpleasant too, on the other hand Doménico was the opposite, handsome, kind, and extremely courteous.
"Yes, he had to retire because he was given some medical exams and he needs to have surgery. I've come to cover his absence."
Georgia felt a tingling in her stomach.
"I must go now, lunchtime will start soon and I have to work.
"Of course!” He stood up and accompanied her to the door “See you later, Georgia” he said goodbye.
As she left the office, the head waitress asked her to go and take the order of one of the many customers who were already starting to fill the restaurant, so she didn't have much time to think about her boss, and that's because in the few moments she could catch her breath, she found herself thinking about Alessandro, not Doménico.
For Doménico, on the other hand, it was completely the opposite, although he also had many pending tasks, he couldn't help but be distracted thinking about her, about her blue eyes and red lips. The man wanted to be able to be alone with her, but she was a woman with a complicated life and something told him that it wasn't easy to get into her heart, so he would have to be creative to achieve it.
At quitting time, Georgia left before Valery could insist on her forgiveness, the woman changed and went to the bus stop just as Doménico was also leaving in his sports car.
"Georgia! Where are you going?" the man asked, lowering the pilot's window.
"To my house, I'm waiting for the bus," she replied, hugging her body to take shelter from the night's cold.
"Get in! I'll take you," he proposed.
She bit her lower lip, the proposal sounded tempting, she saved time, the wear and tear of the bus, and above all, the money, but she didn't want to confuse things with the new boss, so she wasn't sure if she should accept.
"Please don't think anything bad!" he teased when he saw her face "I just want to give you a ride, that's all."
She saw that perfect smile and that was enough for her to go around the car and get in.
"Thanks for offering," she said, putting on her seatbelt.
As the car was about to move and Georgia was settled, the woman shuddered when she saw a shadow projected in the side rearview mirror, it was a man, looking fixedly in their direction, she couldn't make him out due to the distance, but she could swear it was Alessandro Mascherano.
"Are you okay?"
Georgia nodded.
It was impossible that Alessandro was watching her, she thought.
The next day, Georgia was finishing getting dressed in her usual uniform when a call made her phone vibrate on the couch. With shoes in hand, she ran towards the small living room of her apartment."Miss Alcott, we are calling to remind you that your grandmother's medication bill is due today, you must pay the next bill so we can send a messenger to bring the pills."Georgia closed her eyes and took a couple of fingers to the bridge of her nose "Can't you give me a little more time? I can pay in a couple of days, but grandma can't wait.""We are aware of the gravity of your grandmother's condition, but there is nothing we can do to help."Georgia didn't know what to say."Having notified the above, we will leave you with a satisfaction survey so you can rate the attention we give you" said the woman mechanically.Immediately the phone rang with a "beep""Damn healthcare system!" she shouted at the phone before hanging up the call.Frustrated, Georgia finished getting ready and then le
"It's been a pleasure doing business with you, Georgia," Alessandro said, roughing taking her hand and shaking it.She made a face that the man found extremely funny, if she knew that she looked like a little girl, she probably would have abstained from making that gesture, yet Alessandro found it even a little adorable."Too bad I can't say the same," she received the money he was giving her. "Could you be more discreet?" She asked, looking around with the corner of her eye. "The least I want is for people to think that you're paying me for other reasons."Alessandro let out a half-hearted laugh. "Are you afraid that they'll think you're my personal whore? Or is it that you're afraid that this new prospect of yours will think badly of you?""What prospect? What are you talking about?" Her voice trembled, betraying her.Just at that moment, Thomas, who had gone to the bathroom to wash his hands, returned, dripping water everywhere."Thank you for feeding me, Georgia, I hope you can co
He didn't have to think about it much longer, after having been analyzing his feelings and how much Georgia's name crossed his thoughts, Doménico came to the conclusion that he definitely wanted something with her, it was probably premature to assure what kind of relationship he wanted with the woman, however if one thing was clear it was that the man was going to do everything possible to make things work between them, he was going to find moments to be alone with her, he was going to seduce her until Georgia had no choice but to fall at his feet."Good morning, Georgia" he greeted her, who was the first to arrive."Boss!" she looked at her watch "Am I late?" she questioned herself, since the man always arrived after her."Nothing of the sort, I just woke up earlier" he explained "I brought this for you to have breakfast, in the midst of the hustle and bustle I doubt you had time to eat something" he extended a coffee towards her, along with a donut that smelled too delicious to refu
"Haven't you heard the Miss? She told you she wants absolutely nothing to do with you" Alessandro was fucking furious, the blood in his body was boiling, his muscles were numb with anger and he wanted to end the entire world if it was at all possible. What annoyed the man the most was not being able to understand the real reasons why Georgia's immature behavior annoyed him so much and that man was stalking her so directly.Doménico looked at him with a frown and let out a snort "Are you again? Don't you have anything else to do than to stick your nose where you haven't been called?" he growled with annoyance, being outside the restaurant and out of the public eye, Doménico didn't have to watch his image, so right there, he was ready to fight against Alessandro if he had to do it."No! I have nothing to do, are you going to find me a job?" Alessandro faced Doménico, approaching him threateningly, almost as if challenging him with his gaze and body position.Georgia looked at one and th
The next morning, Georgia woke up with pain in her back. She went to the bathroom and lifted her shirt, only to realize that she had a bruise on her right side. The blow was purple and throbbed with pain."Damn Alessandro Mascherano!" she growled, while applying cream to help alleviate the pain. This was definitely an offense that she would never forgive. While getting dressed to go to work, she made a mental note to call a locksmith to change the security locks of her building and house. If that crazy man had keys to the building, there was nothing to guarantee that he didn't also have keys to her apartment, and there was nothing more dangerous than a crazy man obsessed with chasing her and having access to her. After getting ready, Georgia went to the bus stop and waited until she caught her bus, which left her just one block from work, as always. That day, Georgia was earlier than usual. She was so worried about Doménico's health that she hadn't even bothered to eat breakfast becau
"Hello?" Georgia asked as she answered the phone."Miss Alcott, I'm calling from the employment agency. We have a new job opportunity for you."Georgia got out of bed and started pacing in the small hallway of her house. It had been about three weeks since she lost her job and the woman was about to go crazy. At that point, she was willing to accept any proposal. The food in the fridge was about to run out and her grandmother had a medical appointment for which she needed money."Tell me!" she asked excitedly."It's at the restaurant where you used to work," the girl on the other end of the phone explained.Georgia frowned "but it can't be possible, are you sure of what you're telling me?""Yes, apparently the company has changed owners and they're making a restructuring of the employees. They know your work and want to reintegrate you into the team."This seemed too strange to Georgia. Those kinds of coincidences don't happen in real life, besides, why would they sell the restaurant?
Georgia had been working for Alessandro for a little over a week, but in reality, the job had not been too complicated, Alessandro had been on a business trip for the last three days, although Georgia didn't really know what the word "Business" meant, and between Thomas's school and the soccer classes he had recently signed up for, she didn't have much to do.She didn't like to admit it, but she felt it was unfair to receive such a high salary when the work was not difficult, her duties had been based on picking up and accompanying Thomas to school, and for that she didn't even have to drive because there was a personal driver in the house who took care of taking them wherever they wanted.Georgia was living the good life, if it weren't for the fact that at some point she felt like she was imprisoned in a golden cage, then everything would have been perfect."Miss Alcott, I will go pick up the child at school, will you come with me?" the driver questioned.Of course, Georgia nodded he
"Spending just a few minutes with you is the most frustrating thing in the world, Alessandro Mascherano, now I understand why you're alone, I understand that there's no one in the world who can put up with all your pretensions, you think you're the owner of the universe" Georgia said aloud as she walked into the house. She was aware that he couldn't hear her, she knew that anyone who saw her would think she was crazy, but she didn't care, she needed to find a way to exorcise what was inside her chest because then she risked really going crazy."I wonder what kind of trauma a person must have to believe that they have absolute power over another person, you're not my owner! I'm sick of you treating me like an object that you can take and move around, sick of having to put up with you and of you not being interested in anyone but yourself" Georgia's rage was actually not just about what he was doing to her, but also about the neglect and abandonment to which he had subjected poor Thomas
Alessandro lay in the oppressive darkness of the basement, a prisoner of the enemy criminal organization that had sworn his destruction. Every passing second felt like an eternity of suffering, especially because the place was a perfect image of horror—an abandoned dungeon where dampness and mold clung to the walls as silent witnesses of his misfortune, much like the shackles on his wrists and ankles that bit into his skin, marking his body as a constant reminder of his helplessness. The stale air infiltrated his lungs as the cold intertwined with his bones. A single light bulb hung from the ceiling, casting a faint light that barely managed to illuminate the sordid space. Alessandro could hear the distant sounds of the city outside that hellish place, a cruel irony that reminded him of how close he was to freedom and how far it seemed at the same time. That night, Domenico, his declared enemy, entered the basement with a ruthless smile on his face. He knew he had Alessandro exactly w
The sun rose majestically over the horizon as Georgia observed the landscape from the airplane window. Her heart was pounding in her chest as the plane descended towards the airport of her hometown. She was finally coming back home, although it wasn't entirely positive. It wasn't a return to enjoy the golden beaches or the tropical climate. It was a return filled with uncertainty and, ironically, hope at the same time.Georgia looked at her children, Eva, who was peacefully asleep in her arms, and Thomas, who was happily playing, searching for shapes in the clouds. Their eyes shone with excitement for the journey and adventure that awaited them. Amidst it all, they also longed for a reunion with their father, Alessandro, who had mysteriously disappeared. The plane landed smoothly, and Georgia felt a surge of emotion coursing through her body. She held Eva in her arms and took Thomas' hand as they made their way towards the exit, which was crowded with people. But Georgia remained focu
Georgia was completely torn apart. She felt nauseous, and the world was shifting beneath her feet. This couldn't be true. The love of her life couldn't be in danger. After everything they had gone through to finally be together, life couldn't be so unfair as to separate them, especially with a baby on the way. When Georgia thought about Eva, her heart squeezed even tighter. If something happened to Alessandro, the baby wouldn't have the chance to know him or enjoy everything he could offer as a father. Alessandro was a wonderful man who loved his daughter. Destiny couldn't deny him the opportunity to see her grow and be there for every stage of Eva's life. And then there was Thomas, who had barely begun to enjoy having his father around. After hanging up with her father, Georgia needed someone to talk to about it. Since her father didn't answer, she called her best friend Valery to help clear her head."You need to calm down, Georgia," said Valery, feeling powerless being so far away.
That afternoon, Georgia wasn't feeling well. Her heart hadn't stopped racing, and she was starting to experience arrhythmia. But that was the least of her worries. Instead, she couldn't stop thinking about Alessandro. Georgia even tried to find distractions in other places, like taking Thomas to the beach, but nothing seemed to be enough. She felt trapped in that hotel room where she couldn't stop seeing the ghost of her husband. With that lingering premonition, Georgia picked up her phone to check if she had any messages or calls from Alessandro. But there was nothing. It was as if he had literally vanished from the face of the earth. Georgia wasn't going to settle for that simple absence and vague note, so she took the initiative to call him once again. As the call went to voicemail, she let out a sigh and went to tend to the baby, who started crying."It's alright, little Eva. Mommy is here with you," Georgia held Eva and rocked her around the room. That day, even Eva seemed more r
After his plane had landed back in the city, Alessandro immediately headed to the Black Temple facilities, where everyone eagerly awaited their leader. Despite the decision for Black Temple to launch the first attack under Jeremy's leadership, Alessandro had second thoughts and refused that possibility. He wanted to be the one to deliver the final blow, and something told him it would happen exactly on that day."How is Georgia?" Jeremy asked directly, without beating around the bush, as soon as he saw his neuro enter through the building's doors.Alessandro felt a lump in his throat before responding. His dark eyes reflected a mixture of determination and concern. "She's fine," he stated confidently. "I've taken all necessary precautions to keep her safe.""And the baby?" the man questioned."The baby is with Georgia, which means she's fine," Alessandro replied, trying not to dwell on the family he had left behind on their honeymoon.Jeremy nodded, but his expression remained skeptic
Gloomy and sinister, the meeting room of the Black Temple was a refuge for shadows. Jeremy, the patriarch and leader appointed by Alessandro, sat at the head of the table, observing each member of the organization with cold eyes. Silence hung in the air, only interrupted by the whisper of darkness."Tomorrow is the day," Jeremy announced with a deep and authoritative voice. "It is our responsibility to ensure that the enemy camp will be unprotected and weakened when Alessandro arrives. Our opportunity to eliminate them once and for all."The eyes of those present lit up with a mixture of excitement and determination. They knew it was a risky mission, but they trusted Jeremy's strategic ability and leadership. Of course, not everyone was happy with his appointment, but after suffering so many casualties, the desire for revenge outweighed the urge to question the boss's decisions.Jeremy distributed photographs of the enemy leaders and detailed maps of the camp. Each member of the organ
The interior of the plane filled with anticipation and excitement as Alessandro and Georgia settled into their seats, looking at each other with love and complicity. Beside them, little Eva slept peacefully in her mother's arms, while Thomas played with his cellphone in one of the airplane seats.Georgia looked at her daughter and then at Alessandro, her eyes shining with happiness and gratitude. She couldn't believe they were finally flying to Hawaii, their dream honeymoon destination. She felt a wave of love and joy as she shared this special moment with her husband and daughter, knowing they were creating memories to cherish forever."I can't believe you remembered that I told you how much I wished to go to Hawaii," Georgia said, surprised when her husband revealed their honeymoon location."I always listen to you, darling, even when you thought I wasn't," Alessandro smiled. However, behind that seemingly cheerful gesture, he concealed the worry weighing on his chest, knowing that
Weeks after Alessandro and Georgia's little daughter had been discharged from the hospital, the couple's wedding took place. They were eager and in a hurry to culminate with that final ceremony that would show the world how much they loved each other. So there they were, finishing dressing up and putting on makeup to attend the event that made them so happy."You're the most beautiful bride in the world," Valery sighed, looking at her friend who was touching up her lipstick in front of the mirror."Thank you, I hope that someday I can say the same about you," Georgia glanced quickly at Valery, who blushed immediately. "I've seen your boyfriend so happy with you that I have no doubt he'll put the ring on your finger."Valery squealed with excitement. For the first time in a long time, the idea of getting married didn't seem entirely unpleasant to her. On the contrary, she was excited and thrilled by the possibility of sharing her life with the man she was so in love with."It was a bea
After leaving the police station, Alessandro quickly headed home. But before that, he returned to the central hospital to make sure once again that his little baby was fine. He also informed the doctors and administrators that there would be bodyguards watching over the maternity ward. Alessandro didn't want to leave his daughter's safety to chance, and considering the events of the previous evening, the administrators accepted his proposal. Therefore, the pavilion was completely guarded by members of the Black Temple. However, that wasn't enough for Alessandro. He needed much more than just that. In order to set his plan in motion, he arrived at the Mascherano mansion, where Georgia was already awake, waiting for him with a cup of coffee in her hand."Darling!" she greeted him as he walked through the door. "Where did you go so early?" she asked."I had some work to take care of, and I also went to visit the baby," he confessed.Georgia's expression twisted on her face. She knew exac
