There was panic in alpha's tone as he lifted me to my feet and placed me on his back. I didn't recognize which other warrior was. I stayed there, closing my eyes while he began to race through the woods.

"My baby," I kept mumbling under my breath.

I heard alpha mumbled some words to the other warrior that was there, but I just couldn't care less. I kept repeating the words, "My baby," keeping my eyes closed and slowly slipping away into unconsciousness.

When I reopened my eyes, I was in his arms, bridal style. I kept my arms wrapped around his shoulder while my head rested on his chest. He cleared the way, he backed that some warriors that were standing in front of him as we got to the border, not caring about the few people that were still hanging out on the streets. He led me into the packhouse, heading to his bedroom.

"My baby? Is the baby okay?"

"The pack doctor will be here in a second."
