Once she was out of the shack, Rebecca took a few moments to take in what had happened back there. From when she walked in to see her now former bullies in the state they were in, to when she walked out and left them in the hands of Christian's men.

Recalling the middle part, especially got to her, as she leaned against the wall and ran a hand over her face. How she swung her arms and legs at full force on her bullies, made them bleed and cry mercy for her. Some- namely one 'Jenna'- were so foolish enough to try threatening her to stop, when they were clearly in no position to do so, and only received more beatings from her. And when they pleaded her to stop, she thought back to when she was in their position, and retorted if they ever stopped when she begged them to. All while coming at them harder than ever before.

Thinking back to what she did now, after having a clear head, the blood now easing up in her body, the one thing that came to her mind was...

'What did I do?'

Elsewhere, far from the shack, deeper in the woods, there stood a tall castle. Within the castle and around the perimeter, many people stood and patrolled about. Some were training in the training grounds, and others were just hanging with friends. The one thing was most especially particular about the people at this castle was the number of canine humanoid creatures amongst them. Rather, how they were all able to turn into such creatures. Into werewolves, much like the those in Christian's pack. Unlike the unruly group, gathered under one leader out of fear and self-interest, this group has been born into the pack their Alpha leads. The position having been inherited under the same family for generations. One werewolf sat alone in a rather large room, finishing off loads of paperwork on his desk. Unlike most werewolves, young and old alike, this one did not have much life in his eyes. They that look extremely worn, heavy, and black, indicating the lack of sleep he had been getting ov

How Fenris felt his heart stop at the response Retchet gave. ‘What do you mean he kidnapped people?’ he questioned. ‘Are you referring to people he lent money to? People who did not pay back what he lent them? He is taking it that far now?’‘Worse, sir. These people have not been lent a penny by Christian,’ Retchet corrected, to Fenris's confusion and increasing worries. Even more so at the next set of words that came. ‘These people are his classmates. And I recognize one of them as his teammate in one of the sports team he occasionally helps, and another I believe was part of the cheerleading squad.’Fenris furrowed his brows hearing who these people were. ‘They’re his classmates? And he had them tortured? What happened for that to occur?!’‘These people are also Rebecca’s bullies. And from what I understand, he wanted to make up with the human for the way he had treated her, by giving her a chance to have vengeance on people who wronged her. Vengeance that he wants to do for his mot

The next day, Rebecca had been feeling restless, as she worked about Retchet's room, sweeping whatever dust and trash laid about all over the floor."Rebecca, I'm pretty sure you've swept up enough," Retchet told her, having just returned from a meeting with Christian and the other higher-ups of the gorup.Rebecca turned to him with a raised brow. "You're back already? I thought you were going to meet with the master. You said it will take a while.""Yes. And it has been a while. Over an hour ago."Surprising as it was for Rebecca to hear that an hour had already passed, when it felt like minutes to her, she gave no reaction to the news. "I see..." was all she could say.Retchet's eyes softened at the response, unsure what to make of it. Ever since they returned from the woods, the girl had been very quiet. Her and Christian both. Both he and the other wolves were unsure what to make of it. At the very least, they were certain that it was unlike their Alpha to be so quiet about anythi

  • Shattered Heart: My Owner is the Mafia Alpha   Planning Vengeance for Her

Christian's mind has been wandering for a while now. Ever since the drive back home last night. No… Ever since his chat with Rebecca, after the girl had completed her share of vengeance on Jenna’s group. Perhaps even before the chat with her, when she had those reactions after exiting out the shack. From the relieved joy that was once on her face, to that of shock and horror seconds later.‘Why did she have that reaction? Shouldn’t she just stay happy after what she did to those people?’ he wondered. That was indeed the question that has been invading his head. He knew well enough what Jenna and her cohorts did to Rebecca- everyone did, in fact. Be it the students, and even the teachers. Those people were never discreet in their treatment towards her. And because of Harold’s crime, rather than defending Rebecca in any way, the teachers more expect her to take after him at some point, and do more than simply defend herself from them. Either that, or considering how he- son of her fath

How long has it been since Rebecca was able to walk out the streets in peace? Or at least, as peaceful as it felt for her at the moment, considering she was still on watch by Retchet, who was walking right beside her. “The air sure is fresh for a nice walk, isn’t it?” he said.“I guess. Though you don’t need to start up any conversation if you don’t want to,” Rebecca told him.“Ah, don’t be like that. I’m not forcing myself to have a chat with you. Even though the silence is a little unnerving for me.”Rebecca turned at him with a judgmental look on her face. “I’m pretty sure you just admitted that you’re forcing yourself to talk here,” she stated, in which Retchet chuckled at.“Yeah, I suppose I did just do that, didn’t I?”She knew she was still technically his slave, but if she could be honest, seeing Retchet act this way around her really relieved Rebecca some. More than that, it helped her feel a bit more peaceful deep down. She couldn’t remember the last time she was at least s

As the door opened with the jingling of a bell, Rebecca hesitated to step inside the building. Something that did not go unnoticed by Retchet, as he turned to her.“Is something wrong?” he asked her.Rebecca hesitated to answer, unsure how to tell him about her past with the people here without looking weak in his eyes. Without him possibly laughing at her. He may not look the part to do so, but Rebecca wouldn’t really know. Not only did he stifle back a laugh when he heard her stomach growl, Rebecca did not really trust others much to start with anyway."Rebecca?" Both picked up their heads and turned to the source upon hearing someone call out to Rebecca. Their eyes laid on an elderly gentleman behind the counter. The expression on his face turned into a joyful one once he saw their attentions on him. Specifically that of one human girl. "Ah, I knew it is you, child. My, how you have grown since the last time you came here."While Rebecca was glad to hear the guy say such about her,

  • Shattered Heart: My Owner is the Mafia Alpha   A Walk Out

Christian walked out and about in town, taking in some nice, fresh air as he stretched his arms out. ‘Gotta admit, it really is nice to get some air out here,’ he thought, feeling somewhat relaxed now that he was out, with his head slowly clearing up from his previous thoughts. ‘With everything that went on, I don’t think I ever took a proper break these days. This walk should help perk me right up.’“Mommy, can we have some ice cream?” he heard, as he turned to see a little boy holding hands with his mother across the street. The child pointing at an ice cream parlor near them.“You want some ice cream right now? You do remember we have some cake at home, right?” the mother asked.“The cake will be dessert. I want ice cream! The smooth, cold stuff!”The mother playfully placed a finger on her chin in thought. “Hmm… I wonder now. Should I really buy you some ice cream?”The boy looked up at her with pleading eyes. “Please. I’ll help with chores later.”“Really? And what about your hom

When Christian walked into the cafe, he did not expect to meet one of his people there. Much less with their slave accompanying them. And from the looks of it, they seem to be having a swell time together. A sight that brought disgust down his being.“Mi- I-I mean, boss! Hi. What a… What a lovely surprise, meeting you here,” Retchet spoke first, stuttering as he greeted him. No doubt to keep their occupations secret from the staff members. Rebecca, on the other hand, pursed her lips together and furrowed her brows in a glare. Or at least as close to a glare as she could. “Why hello, dear customer,” an old voice called, grabbing Christian’s attention. “Welcome to Sweet Solitude. I will be with you shortly. Please, by all means, sit wherever you like. I will be with you shortly.”Reminded of what he was here for, Christian decided to put whatever malice he had growing for the pair- for Rebecca- behind him and sat at a table far from them.As they watched him sit at a distance, to both

  • Shattered Heart: My Owner is the Mafia Alpha   Sneaking Into the Pack

With Christian, as it was in the middle of the day, he has some difficulties slipping through the pack. Thankfully, there was a part of the fence that had a hole in it, big enough for him to go through in his wolf form, and poorly hidden. After that, he had to sneak past the many busy people in the village. They who seemed to be in a festive mood, as was the village itself.'Is there some werewolf festival going on here?' he wondered, hiding in the shadows."I can't wait for the young lord to be here," he overheard a female werewolf spoke. She a teenager, and speaking to some other females her age."None of us can. I still can't believe the Alpha has had a son this whole time, and none of us knew about it," another one of the females stated."I wonder what the son is like. Then again, since he is the heir, he must be someone dashing," another one of them said."Strong, too. He may have human blood running through his veins, but he is still an Alpha rank. Plus, our kind is much more su

At the same time, within Fenris’s mansion, the Alpha was just finished setting up some flowers in a vase on a nightstand right by Christen’s bedside.“What do you think of the flowers today, Christen?” he asked in a low tone, looking at his sleeping mate. “These are daffodils. They are said to symbolize new beginnings. And hope for a bright future. I thought they would be perfect since… Well you know, our son will be arriving today. Though, these probably are not the best flowers to use, considering the state of things.”Despite the words coming out of his mouth, despite how he is speaking to his beloved, as expected, she has not even reacted to a single thing he said. He had hoped that hearing about their son’s arrival would trigger something in her, give him a sign that she will wake soon, at least for the son she gave birth to and raised. But alas, as he feared, there were no sign of improvements at all to her condition.“I wonder if you will at least react to him being here,” he m

  • Shattered Heart: My Owner is the Mafia Alpha   Arriving at the Pack's Perimeter

Some days have passed since Wilford’s group saved Christian and Rebecca from the Neo Krawlers. In the time that passed during their travel to the Diamante Pack, while Christian kept his distance from their werewolf guides around them, Rebecca had been making some small talk here and there with them. If only to help ease tension between him and the rest of the werewolves. Get to know them better so she wouldn’t have to fear them so much. Her opinion of them most especially improved after they managed to find shelter the first night, and one of the werewolves provided proper medical treatment for her leg. She was honestly astonished to learn that even werewolves truly would need to learn some medical knowledge from that werewolf. Namely due to some certain factors that they apparently cannot heal from. “Hoe is your leg feeling, Rebecca?” Christian asked, getting her attention.“Hm? Oh, it’s fine, as far as I know,” she answered. “If anything, I should be the one asking how you are, Ch

  • Shattered Heart: My Owner is the Mafia Alpha   Becoming Traitor

Meanwhile, away from Christian’s group, the pair of werewolves who were sent by Wilford to assist Ratchet and Petra arrived at the area Rebecca had told them they had left them at. A part of the woods that had a large sturdy tree with a hollow opening, and a log that may be close by to it. ‘May be’, considering how Retchet had used it as a club or bat when he helped her and Christian escape. At the very least, the trio would’ve heard a scuffle going about as they approached, only to see no sign of their fellow Diamante werewolf.“Damn it, I think we lost them!” the male with blonde hair cursed.“It was quite the run to here. I’m actually amazed those two made it as far as they did as humans. Especially when one of them was injured and getting carried on his shoulders,” the female werewolf with her blue hair in braids stated. “This is not the time to be impressed. If Retche gets captured by the Neo Krawlers, that would be as bad as any of us Diamantes getting captured. No… It would be

  • Shattered Heart: My Owner is the Mafia Alpha   Refusing to Accept Who His Father May Be

As they walked to Christian’s father’s pack, the Diamante-Krawler Pack- or just ‘Diamante’ Pack- the walk there was quite silent. A bit too quiet for Rebecca’s liking. It wasn’t that she disliked it per say, as it was more that, being surrounded by people who knew Christian’s father, she had thought that Christian would want to know at least a little bit more about the man who gave birth to him. This was especially considering the fact that the bits of things they were claiming about him sounded to be good things. Nothing vile as Christian believed about him. As much as she wanted to know more about him, though, the truth about the father, she also knew that now was not exactly the right time. Not while she was being carried by the half werewolf in the middle of the crowd surrounding them.“You look like you want to talk about something,” Christian said, causing her to flinch.“Was it that obvious?” she asked.“I’ll only answer what I’m comfortable in answering. Anything else- especi

  • Shattered Heart: My Owner is the Mafia Alpha   We Are Your Father's Pack Mates

"Your mother’s name… Is it ‘Christen’?”How Christian’s world seemed to have turned when the question left the older werewolf’s mouth. The one other thing he knew about his mother that a certain handful also knew of. And those handful all hailed in the human world.Or so it should have been, as far as he knew. Unless if any one of Forrest’s werewolves had actually also returned to this world at some point and spoke about his mother to others by name, or Retchet himself for that matter.Rebecca stared at Christian in worry when he froze in stupor like this. Not that she could blame him, going by the expression he had. She certainly was not told by him or Retchet what his mother’s name was. In fact, if he never told anyone about his search for his mother, then chances are that he never told them about her name either. So for this werewolf to correctly guess the name right…“How the hell did you know her name?” Christian demanded, rage slowly building up in him as he slowly came to reali

Christian and Rebecca were at a loss. Standing before them was a small group of werewolves. Though they did not seem to be much of threats to Christian, with Rebecca in his arms, he knew better than to risk fighting against them in this situation.Rebecca also knew Christian was not going to be able to fight against the number. Not while he has her burdening him. This was exactly the sort of thing she wanted to avoid, and now, because of the injury she sustained…“Christian, leave me here,” she told him, to his shock. “Wait, what?”“You have to leave me here. There’s no other way!”Christian was flabbergasted with what she was telling him to do. “I am not leaving you behind!““You have to if you want to find your mother! You need to!” she urged him.Christian was not going along with it, though, as he shook his head in denial. “No way! Now look here-”Before he could say another word, several figures ran past him, much to his stupor. Confused, the pair picked up their heads and looke

Christian and the others could not believe their current predicament. They were only stopping by a nice sturdy tree to take a little break from their walk, when not only did Petra go about insulting humans, but they have found themselves suddenly surrounded by a large number of werewolves. All who seemed to be far from friendly."Who the hell are you lot?" the young Alpha demanded with a growl.Rather than feel threatened by the question, the feminine werewolf sarcastically stated, "Oh, how scary. You growling like that. And they say a dog's bark is worse than its bite?"One of her comrades snickered at the comment. "A dog? When that mutt has human blood running through his veins?"The statement took Rebecca and Christian by surprise. The latter especially, since no other werewolf back in the human world- at least, none of his mafia members- had said anything about him being half human. Then again, earlier the first figure was able to correctly identify their race after she took in th

Footsteps dashed quickly along the muddied ground, as Rebecca and Christian ran through the woods in the dark of night. Panting, with exhaustion threatening to catch up to them, as was another.Rebecca tripped or slipped on something- she couldn't tell which one it was- and fell flat on her face. Hearing her fall caught Christian's ears, as he came to a stop and turned back to her."Hey! You okay there?!" he questioned, helping her up.Rebecca was about to answer, when she felt a sharp pain in her leg. Looking down, she saw a sharp rock protruding out of her calf. No doubt having jabbed into her leg when she fell, as blood leaked out of the wound.Christian also took notice of the injury- in fact, he could smell the blood- and cursed under his breath. "Shit... We don't have time for this. I'm carrying you."Rebecca looked up at him with her eyes slightly wide. "No, you don't need to-""This is not open for discussion!" he cut off, taking the human in his arms and continued on running.
