Elara’s office was quiet and unassuming, the walls lined with ancient books and scrolls, the scent of aged parchment filling the air. The headmistress motioned for Zoe to sit in one of the chairs across from her desk, her expression unreadable but patient.

Zoe sat down, her heart thumping in her chest. “You wanted to see me?”

Elara nodded, her gaze focused on Zoe with a sharp intensity. “You’ve been progressing well, Zoe. I’ve been observing your abilities, and while your connection to the pendant is growing, there are still important steps you must take in order to truly harness its power.”

Zoe frowned, unsure of what exactly she needed to do. “What steps?”

“You need to learn to channel your powers more consciously. To control them, rather than let them control you. The pendant is a conduit, but it is also a mirror of your own strength and fear. If you cannot face both, you will never reach your full potential.”

Zoe nodded, though she didn’t fully understand. “And how do I do that?”
