Cassius gave a faint smile, his gaze steady on her. “The Ironclaw wolves are hiding something about their purpose here and about themselves,” he said softly. “But then, secrets are a language I’m fluent in, Zoe.”

He leaned closer, his tone almost a whisper. “Do you feel it, too?” he asked, his gaze intense. “That there’s something shifting in the shadows? As if there’s more to all of this than meets the eye?”

Zoe’s pulse quickened, her wolf stirring within her. “I do,” she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. “There’s something strange here… something that feels like it’s waiting to happen. And I don’t think it’s only Ironclaw hiding things.”

Cassius’s eyes gleamed with an enigmatic light. “Astute,” he murmured, a note of approval in his voice. “It seems the two of us may be looking for the same answers. Who knows? We might find them together.”

They continued walking in silence for a moment, Zoe feeling the warmth of his presence beside her. Then, unable to resist her curiosity
