On a chilly night lit up by the full moon, Seth and Steve are sitting on a cliff enjoying the cool breeze caress their soft skin. At the cliff, you can see all of the Realm at its finest. This is the place they first met each other.

“I hear you are going to be a father soon” Steve said

“Yeah, I guess” Seth said sounding depressed

“You don’t seem too excited about it”

Seth sighs ignoring what he said

“You are gonna be called Father” Steve said trying to get him to talk but Seth chuckles sadly

“What’s on your mind?”

“A name for the baby...”

“You know you suck at naming” Steve said with his face burning with laughter

“I do not”

“Yes, you do. Like that’s something you are not cut out for. You should let your wife take care of that”

Henri ambles to where they are sitting and joins the men in the conversation

“What are you boys talking about?”

“Seth is thinking of a name for their baby” Steve answered with a smile on his face and with a surprised look Henri ask

“Don’t he know he is bad at that kind of thing?”

“He knows but doesn’t want to accept the truth” Steve said shrugging

“I pity the child soon to bear his name”

“I can imagine how depressed the name will make the child”

“The child will be beyond depressed”

“Ugh, you guys realize I'm still here, right?”

“I think Helen would do a better job naming the baby”, Steve said totally ignoring Seth

“Definitely! We can still save the baby”

“Yea we can”

“Good luck finding a name” Henri said making his way down the hill

“Where are you going?”

“Unlike the two of you that stay up late watching the night sky like newly wedded, I want to go to bed”

“Eww! We can never be a couple” Seth looks at Steve and feels nauseous

“By the way, if you have time to stare at the sky shouldn’t you be with your pregnant wife?”

"Seriously, that's what you would say?"

“I’m here with you because Sophia is with her” Henri’s eyes lit up with great desire

“Sophia!? Hurry boy let’s go” He said dragging Seth

“Ain’t you going to bed anymore?”

“Sophia is a feast for the eyes, sleep can wait” he said with a grin on his old wrinkled face

“Are you not coming with us?” Seth ask Steve who stares at them in disbelief

“To watch you perverts make a fool outta yourselves and get lumped in with you? Nah I will pass”

“Your loss kiddo” Henri said and leaves dragging Seth with him.

                                           ..................✍🏾

“What are you going to name her?” Sophia ask while massaging Helen’s stomach

“Her?” she ask surprised

“It’s gonna be a girl”

“Whichever it is we will gladly accept it. And Seth said he will handle the naming part”

“But Seth is bad at naming, you know”

“I know but that’s his way of being a father to the baby and I think it’s cute of him”

“Nah! You are just in love” She said with a deadpan look

“I guess you could say that” Helen said with the both of them laughing

“I will come to see you tomorrow. Later”

“Thanks for coming today. Bye”

Sophia is the Realm’s best medical practitioner. She uses her shadow or the environmental shadow to cure her patients. She sucks at fighting but when it comes to healing injuries she is a goddess.

After she is done checking Helen she packs equipment and leaves the Remmick’s house. Minutes later Seth and arrive anticipating to see Sophia work

“Hey Princess” Seth said with a smile

“Where the fuck have you been?”

“Calm down honey I was with Steve”

“You put me in this condition and you have the guts to hang out with your friend!?”

"It's not as if you didn't enjoy the process"

“Baby I was trying to find a name for our kid” Seth defends

“Ugh, excuse me, children, where is Sophia?”

“She has already left and what are you doing here? I know you ain’t here to check how I'm doing”

“Ugh goodnight” he said and left

“How are you two?” Seth said in a slow pacifying voice

“We are fine, Mister”

Seth slowly sits beside her placing his head gently on her stomach to listen to the baby’s movements “help daddy apologize to mummy” he whispers

“Get off me fool. I will forgive you once you are done massaging my back. It’s kinda sore”

“Don’t worry I got it” he said and finds her a kiss on the cheek

She lays on her side as he gently caress her waist, massaging it ever so smoothly. Pours a bit of massage oil on his palm and smoothly rubs it on her skin using his thumbs to press gently making a circular motion on her waist. She falls asleep during the massage.

Seth gives her a smooth head massage to help ease her tension and when he’s done he wash off the oil and joins her in the bed

Early in the morning, a loud cry wakes Seth up. He jumps out of their bed to find his wife screaming in pain and a part of the bed wet. With a confused, look he ask

“What’s happening? Babe are you okay?”

“Seth the baby!”

“What’s wrong with the baby?”

“My water broke”

“Your water? I don’t understand”

“The baby is coming out!” she groans

“Like right now?”

“Don’t ask me that” she said with her voice raised

“Sorry babe. What should I do?”

“Call Sophia” she said breathing fast

“Okay. Be back in a minute” before he could go out and summon Sophia, Helen calls him back

“Rub my waist, Seth”

“Your waist, what for?”

“Just do it” Her voice sounded like a thunderstorm

“Yes ma’am” he said rubbing her waist “What about calling Sophia?”

“You haven’t called her?” she said struggling to get up

“You called me back to rub your waist” he said assisting her in getting up

“For crying out loud send a Shadow clone”

Without waiting for her to yell at him again Seth makes a shadow clone and sends it to Sophia’s place

“If she doesn’t get here in time you will help me deliver this baby”

“Why me? Can’t you hold it?”

“Are you insane!!?”

“I’m here already” Sophia said, arriving just in time with the clone

“Thank God you are here. Let’s take her to your place”

It’s too late for that... She will have the baby here. I need you to lay down Helen” she said while helping her on the bed “Fetch me some water Seth” She brings her legs up and Seth runs to get some water. “I need you to push”

Helen screams while trying to push out the baby. She would scream each time she pushes, holding firmly on the bed cover. Seth comes back with a bucket of water

“Where should I keep this?”

“Bring it here. Push harder Helen. I can see its head”

Seth looks at the miracle happening and the sight of a human head popping out of another human’s body frightens him. He faints

“Give it one last big push. Come on you got this”

Helen cries in pain as she gives it her all to push the baby out. The cries of the baby sends a joyous volt to Helen. It was a successful delivery

“Congratulations, it’s a girl. I told you” she said with a face full of smile

Sophia use the bucket of water Seth brought to clean the baby and cut off the umbilical cord. When she’s done she wraps the baby in a warm towel before letting the mother hold her

“She’s beautiful. Good thing she doesn’t have his looks”  Sophia looks at the semi-lifeless body laying on the floor of the room and shakes her head in disappointment. Helen chuckles and gives the baby back to her. She falls asleep immediately.

Seth regains consciousness and slowly gets up feeling the back of his head

“Man I just had a nightmare where I think I saw—”

“Idiot you fainted!” Henri said. He arrived with Steve shortly after Seth fainted

“You sure know how to fall, daddy” Steve said laughing

“Gotten a name yet or should we wake Helen?” Henri teased

Seth ignores them and walks to Sophia

“Can I hold her?” he ask

“She’s yours” she said placing the baby in his arms

“She has a small head”

“What do you expect?” She said while going to where Henri and Steve stand spectating

Seth rubs her cheek with his index finger. Henri walks to Seth

“What’s her name?” he ask expecting a stupid name from him

“Selena.... Selena Remmick”

“Wow! That’s actually a good name. I trained you well” he said with a satisfied look on his face

Helen’s eyes slowly slide open

“Hey Sunshine” Seth said with smile

“Seth is that you?” she ask trying to get up

“Easy there Tiger” he said keeping a soft pillow behind her

“I want to hold her”

“Here you go”

Steve is filled with jealousy watching his best friend become a father. He leaves the house

“So what do we call her?” she ask

“I think Selena is a good name. What do you think?"

“I like it. Welcome home Selena” she grins

Seth kisses her on the forehead as tears roll down his cheek “Thank you Helen. I love you”

His body felt heavier than stone, weighed down by an exhaustion so deep it threatened to pull him under again.Blurred light burned through his eyelids, too bright, too overwhelming. He winced, head throbbing with a slow, torturous pounding that sent sharp pulses through his skull. His ears rang with a high-pitched hum, but beneath it, there were voices—muffled, distant, warping in and out like a bad frequency. He couldn't make them out, but they were there."Where am I?"The last thing he remembered was... the fight. The pain. Shadows twisting around him. Selena's voice, calling him back. His breath hitched as fear clawed its way up his chest. The nightmare. It had felt so real—the suffocating darkness, the weight of death pr

Helen folded the last of her clothes into her bag, smoothing the fabric down with a slow exhale. The room was eerily quiet except for the faint rustling of fabric and the occasional snap of a closing buckle. She had packed efficiently—only the essentials. Nothing here felt like home, and she was eager to leave the Demon Realm behind.Near the door, Nicole stood with her arms crossed, already packed and waiting. Her expression was neutral, but Helen could tell she was anxious to leave.A sudden knock at the door broke the silence. It was firm, but far from the harsh pounding she had experienced before. Helen's brows furrowed in mild surprise. She glanced at Nicole before approaching the door. When she opened it, a guard stood outside, his posture stiff but respectful. He bowed slightly."The King requests your presence."Helen studied him, noting the stark difference in his tone compared to the last time he had come bearing the King's summons. No trace of disdain, no mockery. She narrow

The sound of gunshots echoed through the ruined safe house, each shot from Ken's handgun punctuating the tension in the room. His eyes were sharp, calculating, his every movement precise, but the smoke swirling around Shane made it difficult for the bullets to land cleanly. Ken's shots were quick, and his aim was deadly—but the smoke, it blocked them, diffused their power. Each shot that missed added more pressure on Ken, his breathing becoming shallow, his fingers tightening on the gun's grip.He hadn't seen a fight like this in years.Shane laughed, the sound eerie and unsettling. "Is this really the best you can do, Ken? Just a gunman and a brat with shadows? You don't even know what you're up against."Ken's jaw clenched. Brat with shadows? He didn't care about Shane's taunts, but they gnawed at him. His gun clicked empty again, forcing him to reload quickly, eyes never straying from Shane.Across the room, Selena was locked in her own battle—dark tendrils of shadow clashing again

Helen had only just settled into the stillness of the room, the quiet night wrapping around her like a thick blanket, when the door creaked open without so much as a knock.A tall, armored guard stepped into the room, his face blank and impassive. Helen's brow furrowed slightly, but she masked her surprise quickly. She had already grown accustomed to the unexpected—if there was one thing the Demon Realm's people were proficient at, it was making their entrances without warning."Lady Helen," the guard said in a firm, emotionless tone, "The King requests your presence. There is a feast in your honor tonight. He expects you to join him."Helen sat up in the chair by the window, her fingers curling into the fabric of her gown as she processed the abruptness of the invitation. She narrowed her eyes slightly, her expression cool, though a faint flicker of irritation bubbled beneath her composed exterior."And you couldn't bother to knock?" she asked, her voice smooth but edged with a hint o

Helen stood before the towering obsidian gates of the Demon Realm’s royal palace, the ever-present heat pressing against her skin. Despite the grandeur of the palace-adorned with crimson banners and gold-trimmed pillars-there was no mistaking the hostility in the air.It wasn't her first time stepping Into enemy territory, but that didn’t make it any more welcoming. The Shadow Realm and the Demon Realm had long been rivals, and while they weren’t at war, the lack of trust was palpable. She was led into the throne room, where King Valtoria sat on his massive throne, his presence alone commanding the space. His piercing golden eyes studied her with the sharpness of a blade, and his expression twisted into something unreadable. Beside him stood his daughter, Nicole Valtoria.Nicole was unlike what most imagined a royal of the Demon Realm to be. Her long white hair cascaded down her ba

I sat in the dimly lit room, the weight of exhaustion pressing down on me, but sleep refused to come. My mind wandered-back to a time when warmth still existed in my world. The scent of fresh bread filled the air, mingling with the gentle breeze that rolled through the open windows. Sunlight streamed in, casting golden hues over the small but cozy home.I giggled as I sat cross-legged on the wooden floor, watching my mother, Shayla, kneel beside me, rolling a small ball of dough between her hands."Like this, sweetheart," she said, her voice light and full of warmth. She guided my tiny hands, pressing my fingers into the dough.I pouted. "Mine doesn't look like yours."Shayla chuckled, ruffling my blonde hair. "That's because I've had more practice. But yours is perfect because you made it."My pout turned into a grin. "Do you really have to leave?" he asked, his voice low and even.Selena raised an eyebrow, a hint of surprise sparking within her. She hadn't expected Kevin to ask her to stay. "Yes, I do. I slowly opened my eyes, groggily taking in my surroundings. The air was filled with the sweet scent of cherry blossoms, and the warm sunlight cast dappled shadows on the ground. A slight headache and a sense of disorientation lingered, as if I had been asleep for a long time. As I looked around, I took in the sprawling compound. It was surrounded by stunning cherry blossom trees, their flowers a breathtaking sight – nearly pure white, with delicate pink hues near the stem. The trees transformed the compound into a serene oasis. A soft breeze rustled the leaves, creating a soothing background noise. The buildings resembled those found in schools, and my gaze returned to the woman standing before me. She was likely in her 40s, with an air of confidence and authority. Her dark hair was styled impeccably, and she wore a tailored dark grey blazer, paired with a high-length skirt and a crisp white blouse. Her high-heeled boots added to her imposing presence, and she stood with her fee
