“What do you mean?”

“Sit down, Olivia!” The aged woman who was more than frustrated, cried out. “Take a seat and give attention to what I have to say.”

“Mrs. Blackwell,” Olivia called. “I am sorry but if it is not work-related, I am not interested.”

“Did you forget I can withdraw this job from you?” Victoria taunted. “Wallow in your foolishness and see what I can do.”

Olivia, seeing the matter would escalate if she did not put up with a seat—sat down on one of the vacant chairs with a grimace that did not disguise her countenance.

“That's better.” Mrs. Blackwell said with a nod.

“What do you want?” Olivia questioned, modelling up on the chair. “I would love for you to be straightforward and brief as I have a lot to do in the office.”

“You heard what I said the first time, didn't you?” Victoria questioned. “Why do I need to repeat myself?”

“I need to be certain you did not renounce your senses, Mrs. Blackwell,” she replied. “No offence, but I wonder what is going on with you.”

It was today. Emily sat up on the bed, offering her first yawn of the day. It was not so difficult to recall what would go on in the Enterprise a few hours before the end of the day. According to the calendar and the blaring of the alarm in her room, the creation process of the AI would begin the very moment she stepped into the office. She was still seated on the bed with the many thoughts that went on in her head. What next? She wondered, falling on the bed and shutting her eyes. Without hesitation and wasting time, she recollected what the day would hold and jumped off the bed before heading to the bathroom. How will the uncreated creation end up coming out? Good or bad? She wondered as she took the yield of the toothbrush from where it was, added some paste to it and began to brush her mouth. Something was going on with Olivia, her thoughts hovered when she finished brushing and she flushed the item she used for her mouth. “Yes.” She declined to doubt the thoughts in her

It was a moment to vacate the apartment for the Corporation, but her legs would not allow her to stand from the couch where she was inducted. She mumbled some words to herself and shook her head. If care was not put up with, she would accept Mrs. Blackwell's proposal without indecisiveness, just like she did in her dream a few nights ago. “An apartment of my own,” Olivia mumbled. “For crying out loud, she is offering me an apartment.” She said again and shook her head. All her years of existence, she acknowledged there was nothing earthly that would move her in a way she didn't want. Now what? She eventually came to acknowledge how mistaken she was to make such a hypothesis. How can an apartment of her own not move her in this way? Olivia thought and changed direction on the couch, then picked up the cup of coffee from the tray where it rested. Emily would do the same, after all. “No,” she said, uncertain. Emily had more control over material things than herself who was tumbli

When Olivia walked out of the office, Victoria let out a sigh. Her hands which relaxed on the keyboard of the computer system, fell off and hit the desk. Her insides were bubbling. There was joy in the way she conducted herself, and whoever it was that saw her at that instant, could tell that something good and unforeseen had taken place. Who could have thought that Olivia would change her mind as soon as possible? “Wow!” Her legs led her to the window intersection and she staggered on it, looking out of the space to see what went on in the lower part of the building. Although she peeked out of the window, her concentration relaxed on something else—far away from the areas of the Corporation. “Fool,” she said in reference to Olivia who was swift to fall for her words and strategies. How come? She wondered, retracing her footsteps back to the desk. She walked back and took a seat on the chair and let out a sigh. The porter on the computer screen had blanked out and she cared

Sitting up on the couch, Olivia's hand reached for her mobile device that rested on the centre rug. There was a sound and when she looked up, there was Emily who walked out of her room where she had been since she got back from the Enterprise, with a smile that relaxed on her face. “You!” Emily let out a sigh as she settled on a couch, far from the one Olivia relaxed on. “When did you get back? You got back earlier than usual today.”“Did I?” Emily dropped the phone. The message on the phone could wait, in the meantime. “Yes,” Emily changed her mind, sitting up. “I got back early because Alexander asked me to.”“I see,” Olivia mumbled, sitting up as well. “You're saying you two have not kissed since the last time. Isn't it?”“Y—y,” she cut short herself. "Tell me," Olivia urged. "I am listening.""Does it matter, Olivia?” She now cried. “It was not just me he asked to return home at this time. The other staff were given the rest of the day off.”“Why did you stammer?” Olivia crack

  • Seduction In The Boardroom   "Meet Tricia!"

The weekend came in a hurry, not as expected. Olivia had expected that it would take longer than usual since it had to do with betraying her best friend. Well, what could she do at this point? From the look of things, she was in the deal already and backing off from everything would be a difficult decision to make. For some reason, she should spend her day in the house just like Emily, but she cannot. The meeting was today: it rang in her head like an announcement very mandatory. After many hesitations, she sat up on the bed. What was the time? She glanced at the wall clock and heaved a sigh. It was still too early, should she sleep some more? She questioned herself as she flinched off the bed, changing her mind and walking to the bathroom. She changed into something else and walked out of her room. Emily needed to understand she was leaving the house to someplace on a weekend, but how was she going to tell to the older woman? She murmured in her head, catching up with the c

“So—” Victoria broke the long silence and kicked her back on the comfy seat. “Before we commence this meeting, you young ladies should know that this is our spot.” She explained. “Whenever there is a call, you are to come over to this place. We will meet here often until this project is accomplished.”“Yes,” Tricia nodded. Victoria looked at Olivia who nodded as well. “Yes, Mrs. Blackwell.”“Good,” the satisfied woman nodded and sat up on the chair. “We all know the reason why we are here, don't we?”“I do,” Emily said and looked at Tricia who shook her head. “I don't know the main reason why we are here, Mrs. Blackwell,” Tricia said. “But I am certain it has to do with the lady who works in the Enterprise.”“Yes, exactly,” Victoria nodded. “I want to take her down. That's all I need to achieve while the year comes to an end.”“You want to take down Miss Emily Hartley,” Tricia repeated. “What is her best friend doing here, then?”Victoria laughed. “She is here to assist us,” she

“How was the meeting?” Emily asked the moment Olivia found her way into the house. Initially, she rested on the couch but sat up at the sight of her best friend. Olivia, who looked more than exhausted, sprawled on a couch and threw her bag on the footing of the living room. “How long did it take?” She questioned as she gazed at Emily who waited on her for a reply. “Four hours,” Emily answered back. “Shorter than a normal meeting should be.” She added and got up from the chair. “One second, please.”Olivia nodded, she stayed there, catching her breath. She was exhausted from everything and needed some time to herself, as there was a need to rest from the long discussion she had with Olivia at the lounge of the small hotel. The kitchen door was pushed open and Emily walked out, with a glass of water. “You must be thirsty,” she mumbled, getting closer to the couch where Olivia lay. “Here, take some water.”“How did you know?” Olivia cried, grabbing the glass from Emily. “That word y

He was more than enthusiastic. It was evident from the way he grinned from ear to ear, inclining on the enormous window in his office, and the reassuring smile that rested on his face. Emily did a good job, of course. More than he thought she could. She did not just prove him wrong, but she did well to prove herself right. "Damn!" Alexander cried, recalling the beauty he saw in the creation room early this morning. No one could come up with that except Emily and it was the truth, a very bitter one at that. The curves and voices of the creation shocked him, to an extent that he lost words to speak out. Now that she was on her way to his office, he should be inaugurated and ready to receive her before her delicate hands plunged one or two knocks on the mirror door. Without thinking twice, he got up from the window and reached his chair. His back relaxed on it while he waited for her presence in his office. Then, a hand knocked on the door. Olivia walked out of the kitchen with two trays and positioned them on the table. Where was Emily?Past eight in the night and she was yet to return from the Enterprise. Such a thing rarely happened and when it did, there was a problem. She grabbed the glasses on the table and headed to the kitchen. By the time she returned, the door made a sound. “Emily?” Olivia positioned the new set of glasses on the table and walked to the door. She unlocked it from inside and when it opened, there was Emily at the entrance of the apartment. “Well, what happened to you?” There was worry in her tone. She supervised the older woman walking into the house, while she latched the door and veered around. “Emily, did something happen at work?”“Good evening, Liv,” Emily, who was exhausted, plopped down on one of the couches. “I was assisting Mark with his task. He had a lot to do at work today.”“Ohh,” Olivia sauntered past her and caught up with the dining table. “I organized something for us to eat

She wanted to ask. But on second thought, she took the yield of the card, unfurled it and wheezed the next moment. “Yeah—” Mark was loving the reaction on her countenance. “Yo

The door of his office pushed open and with this, he caught sight of her at the entrance. “Katherine!” A smile came live on his face as he modelled up on his seat. He made a gesture with one of his hands, pointing to one of the vacant chairs opposite him. “Come on. Take a seat.”With a smile on her face, and bobbing of her head—Katherine made it to one of the seats. “I am sorry I took so long, Mr. Steele,” she lowered the file she came with, on the desk. “She came a bit late.”“Were you able to make her speak?” The worried man asked. “Did she tell you anything at all?”“No,” Katherine shook her head. “She didn't say anything to me at all. I feel I am not good at a task like this. It feels as though she is hiding something and doesn't want to talk to me about it.”"Damn it!" Jonathan slammed one of his hands on the table. “Why do I get this feeling that the woman is up to something?” The worried man asked. “Not on a mission of her own, but with someone and that person is none other

Whatever the woman had come up with this time, had better make some sense. Olivia boarded a cab and headed to the location as asked in the text message she received last night. It was better than ending her moment in the office to be there, she thought while the man on the sterling did his job. When would all of these be over? Her thoughts drifted and she sat up on the seat, clutching her handbag tight to herself. This was not the right time to bother herself with these questions. All she knows she needs in the meantime is to know why Victoria had called for another meeting. Well, she was going to know in the end. So why bother? She lifted her head to look outside the cab and rays of sunlight came off at her, reminding her of how the day had just started. Soon, the cab halted at the front of the gate. “I have arrived, ma'am.” the man who handled the journey process called the attention of Olivia who looked like she was lost in a world of her thoughts. “Thank you.” She greeted

Shit! Why did she forget to tell Olivia of the little idea that popped up in her head before leaving the office? The woman hopped in her car and heaved a sigh. It was not so hard to return to the office, take a seat and discuss with her about her plans. But on second thought, she thought back to Mr. Steele and how he was everywhere, seeking answers to the questions he asked Olivia the other day. The man was clever and wouldn't think twice before knowing that the woman lied about her answer. This way, he would pursue other ways to know and even go as far as bringing some of the other staff into the picture. It was a long day at the office, there was a need to be at home. But after many thoughts and unanswered questions, Victoria started the car engine and began her journey out of the large compound. The man who seemed like he lived at the gate, forever, opened up for her to drive out and she did, she heaved a deep sigh. There was a need to meet with Olivia as soon as possible and

Now may not be the right time to go on dates.”“You are right,” Olivia nodded as she squeezed a spoonful of the nourishment in her mouth. “He'd come around, don't think about it.”“Who says I am troubled by that?” Emily sneered. “Mr. Stone has a preference for me. I like him, too. I am not bothered about anything. Nothing at all.”Olivia altered her position on the chair and began. “Would you date him if he asked you to?”A smile appeared on Emily's countenance and she switched her position on the couch, confronting Olivia. Her face contorted red and she glanced away, then back at Olivia. “Why do you ask, Liv?”“Why not?” Olivia questioned back. “You are my

The ride back to the Corporation was a peaceful one, and Victoria wasn't inclined to chip in a word. At the same time, there was Olivia who wasn't ready to speak with the older woman. A lot went on in her mind, and it was at the same time difficult to figure out. After a while of driving, they dropped anchor at the gate and the man who offered his service as a gateman did a good job by opening up to them. Ready to hop down, she asked. “What do I tell them if asked a question?”“What do you mean, Olivia?” An aggravated Victoria raised a question. “I thought I told you before now that it is not my business whatever you tell them. I pay you for all of these things.”“Right,” Victoria grimaced, hoping down from the car. “I'll see you later.” She said as she picked up her handbag from the chair where it posed. “See you later, Olivia,” Victoria heaved a sigh. She had yet to hop down from the car and Olivia seemed to care less. Of all things to care about, not Victoria and her strategie

“We are meeting with Tricia today,” Victoria announced that morning. “I expect you to be in my office by 12.”“Today?” The shocked lady asked. “Why?”Victoria, vexed by the remark, veered around. She glanced around her, shaking her head. “What do you mean by that, young lady?”“I—I am sorry, Mrs. Blackwell, but that is not what I meant to ask.”“What did you mean to ask?” The older woman asked while she modified the bag that hung on her shoulders, prepared to blast. “Does the nature of your job not have to do with meeting up, even when least expected?”“It does,” Olivia bobbed her head, prepared to walk away. “I will be at your office by 12, Victoria.”“Yikes!” She let out as she pushed the door of her office. It was beginning to be more difficult than she reckoned it to be. Her legs led her to her desk and she put up with the chair next to the table. Now she desired to be Emily for the whole week. For goodness sake, the woman would consume the whole of a week at home. Perhaps, it w

Without hesitation, Olivia snatched the chair next to her and modelled in it. “Do you need something?”“No,” Victoria shuddered her head. “Not really. Did she not get Mr. Stone's contact after the slight complication she seemed to have faced? “What is it about, Mrs. Blackwell?”“I have more files for you to deal with,” Mrs. Blackwell astonished the younger woman by disappointing her. “Although you and Katherine would have to sh
