Faking Movement

“How was the meeting?” Emily asked the moment Olivia found her way into the house.

Initially, she rested on the couch but sat up at the sight of her best friend.

Olivia, who looked more than exhausted, sprawled on a couch and threw her bag on the footing of the living room. “How long did it take?” She questioned as she gazed at Emily who waited on her for a reply.

“Four hours,” Emily answered back. “Shorter than a normal meeting should be.” She added and got up from the chair. “One second, please.”

Olivia nodded, she stayed there, catching her breath.

She was exhausted from everything and needed some time to herself, as there was a need to rest from the long discussion she had with Olivia at the lounge of the small hotel.

The kitchen door was pushed open and Emily walked out, with a glass of water. “You must be thirsty,” she mumbled, getting closer to the couch where Olivia lay. “Here, take some water.”
