76. Mother

I sighed at the reminder of my meeting with Lisa.

I had called her earlier this week saying that we could meet up. The relief in her voice was obvious. She had been waiting for more than a month after all.

It was already time for us to meet, but I was going to make her wait a bit more. She had me waiting for her for years before I accepted the fact that I had a new mother.

“She can wait for me. After all, I waited a long time for her.”

Saint chuckled, squeezing my shoulder in a comforting manner. “True.”

Before me, Saint went to work all the days of the week. He even tried to do it on some weekends since I moved in with him, but I was stubborn and bratty (according to him) so I didn’t let him. Our compromise was to let him work from home instead, but for shorter hours and with breaks in between.

“Just let me know when you’re ready. I’ll drive you.”
