Benjamin was very lucky he was my brother’s child because that was literally the only thing keeping him alive. He was lucky I had a good relationship with his father. If he was anyone else, I would have gotten rid of him already.

It wasn’t just because he hurt Adriana, but because he hurt her, she had become obsessed with getting back at him. Every conversation always led to talking about him or hinting at him. It was fucking annoying.

I didn’t realize I was glaring at her until she pouted. “What did I do wrong? Why are you staring at me like that?”

She was very adorable whenever she pouted. I adjusted my expression. “Don’t talk about Benjamin around me. I don’t want to hear it.”

“Do you want me to play along or not?” I was far from playing along. I was messing around with her not because I wanted to help her with getting back at her ex or the stupid date I said I needed, but because I still wanted her by my side. The two days without her felt empty.
