Chapter 1 Winona’s Streams

Under the dim lights, I plowed as hard and fast as I could, but Winona Sundown, my wife, was still unsatisfied.

"Jonathan Slymouth, can you hurry up? Even if you're useless at everything else, how can you be so useless at this? Are you even a man?"

I could no longer recall how many times Winona had taunted me over this same thing.

At first, I even mourned and felt hurt due to my ego as a man. I had privately sought many advice and supplements to get Winona to be satisfied with me.

I never thought that while the specialty supplements were so expensive that they cost nearly half of my monthly salary, they had little effect on me.

When Winona found out, she laughed and mocked me for it, saying one could not make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. I was a loser in whatever I did.

No matter how unpleasant and hurtful her words were, those were the facts.

I could only compensate Winona through other means. As soon as I was paid, I would put 500 aside for my meals before handing the rest to Winona.

Even so, she was not satisfied. She screamed and shouted at me, saying, "Jonathan, look at this paltry sum! I can't even buy the latest cosmetics with this! How are we meant to live on this?"

I patiently coaxed and appeased her with shoulder massages and made her favorite sweet and sour ribs.

Still, she slapped me across the face, cursed me out for being a man who was always eating, and stomped out of our home.

All alone, I picked up the shattered plates and cleaned up the mess in the living room.

Winona was not like this before. She was a completely different woman before we got married.

We met each other at university. My alright looks and great scores meant there were quite a few girls who liked me.

As for Winona, she had average scores with looks that were overshadowed by the beauty of the crowd of girls who liked me.

None of my friends expected Winona to be my girlfriend and later my wife.

However, Winona did one thing later on that made everyone around me change their minds.

We got married as soon as we graduated. In an instant, we were the envied couple who were deeply in love.

Initially, after the wedding, Winona was very sweet to me. I was a hotel manager while she took care of our home. Our lives might be average, but we were happy.

Everything changed from the moment Winona started watching live streams.

She used to wear light makeup. Now, she spent every night wearing exquisite makeup looks and dancing in the study room.

I was supportive of her at first. After all, Winona was home alone, so she would get bored. It would be good for her to make a few friends through live streams.

That was until I woke up in the middle of the night to pee. As I passed by the study room, I heard faint panting.

When I opened the door, what I saw broke my heart.

Winona was half-dressed as she sprawled out on the mat I bought for her and flirtatiously gestured at her phone. Over the phone, I could hear multiple men catcalling and cheering her on.

My rage exploded through the roof, and I demanded to know what she was doing.

The moment she saw me walk in, she visibly panicked. Then, she calmly buttoned up her clothes before coyly saying, "Bye, babes. I'm going to sleep now."

Before she could end the livestream, I grabbed her phone and smashed it to the ground. Then, I stomped on the tool she used for her streams, grinding down on it until it was shattered.

Winona silently and calmly watched me as though what I was doing had nothing to do with her.

Her composed manner infuriated me even more. I harshly grabbed her wrists and demanded an explanation.

"It's as you saw. Jonathan, if you weren't unemployed for so long, why would I have to flirt around with those men?"

My heart sank. Yes. I was no longer a hotel manager with a bright future. I was worse than even a laborer.

Two months ago, I was laid off without a clear reason.

I had begged my boss for mercy, but he refused to even meet me. In the past, he thought highly of me and constantly hinted that I might be promoted to his role in the future.

I knew that our finances would be tight since I no longer had an income source, but I never thought we would be that desperate.

In an instant, I became the anxious and guilty one.
