ROSE
I sat opposite my mate who was clearly very interested in me. We sat in my office, the only place which could offer us a bit of privacy.
He was in an oversized shirt of mine to cover up and sat there playing with the hem of it, and occasionally relishing in the remnants of my scent which lingered on the material. Creep.
Unfortunately It turned out that my mate belonged to a pack of rogues and as per the agreement between the Moon Goddess and my pack, if an important pack member is to have a mate from a rogue pack, our pack must welcome the rogue pack in. It was their choice to stay or not.
But that wasn't the problem. The problem was that my mate existed. What was worse was the he was an omega, the symbol of weakness in any pack. I was a strong alpha, there was no way I could have such a weak werewolf for a mate.
"Why don't you just reject him," Carina, my Beta whispered in my ear. She was the only one who actually knew what was going on as I sent the other guards away. I felt that I could only trust Carina with a situation like this.
My mate growled in response to what Carina said and I just rolled my eyes.
"Unfortunately, I cannot." I said.
She looked at me confused, but I wasn't about to expose the reason for me not being able to reject my mate right in front of him-there was something about him which just... it made me weary.
"Could you do me a favour Carina?" I asked, right before she tried to ask me another question.
She nodded her head enthusiastically. "Yes Rose?"
"Leave please." I said in a monotonous tone.
She smiled, nodded, and then froze as she realised what I had asked of her. "No, I want to be here for this whole mates thing. You said-"
"Look, Carina you're my best friend and everything, but your also my Beta. When I ask you to do something, I expect you to do it." I said.
She just rolled her eyes at me and left the room, leaving me with my mate.
I finally turned to look at him and asked, "Name?"
"Um, Ryker, Ryker Bane." He said slowly looking up at me with his blue eyes.
I furrowed my brows. His name didn't suit him... He had little muscle on his body and seemed to be shaky from lack of food. He was tall though, tall and his face... although starvation was evident by his protruding cheekbones, he still seemed quite attractive... okay very attractive. His dry lips were perfectly shaped and full, and his blue eyes had thick, black eyelashes. His jaw was well defined and with his cheekbones, contributed to his extremely handsome appearance. But none of that mattered. I couldn't have been bothered with how his face looked. He was weak. If the pack found out about him, they would try to strip me of my title and give it to this runt. And the Moon Goddess would probably agree with them. My pack already opposed of a female alpha when I just came into power. Now, if they found out I had a mate- even this sickening omega- he'd be the alpha, and I'd be a Luna. Everything I ever worked for... all leading to zero.
"Rose... Rose?" I was pulled from my thoughts as I heard his voice. The way he said my name... it sent involuntary shivers through my spine.
"Yes?"
"Why are you so silent? Okay, let me introduce myself properly. I am an Omega from a rogue pack. I come from a-"
I cut him off saying, "I don't need your life story here. We have a problem on our hands."
He looked at me confused, "What problem?"
I sighed and leaned forward, bringing my face closer to his, "I don't have a mate, especially not an omega mate."
He started chuckling as if I'd made a big joke. I didn't see the joke though and folded my arms, glaring at him. He got the hint and kept quiet.
"Look, there seems to be a mistake. You can't possibly be my mate. You're an Omega. So, I suggest you and your pack leave mine and go someplace else." I said leaning back and reaching for a knife on the table. I then shifted it from hand to hand, playing with the weapon.
"I don't think you're understanding. You and I are mates. I might be an Omega, but it doesn't change the fact that you and I share a bond." He said placing his hand on my knee which made sparks emit from our contact. I moved my leg away from him as fast as possible. No omega touched me.
I stood up and placed the point of my knife on his neck. He took in a sharp breath and gulped. I was in no mood for this. My title was at stake... my pack was at stake. I wasn't going to let an Omega come here and take my place. Not even my mate.
"Listen and listen well. You have an option now. Either you leave, or I throw you somewhere no one can find you." I hissed.
He looked up at me, fear clear in his eyes... But then, he did the strangest thing. He took a deep breath and said, "Is that a threat Rose?"
I fought off the shock from his bravery and I nodded, ignoring the heat between us. A huge part of me wanted to just grab him and kiss him. Luckily, I could think straight, so I wasn't acting on what my head was conjuring up.
"So, what's it going to be?" I asked, putting the knife down and sitting with folded arms.
"I'm not leaving here without you. So, you're going to have to accept me one way or another! Look alpha, you probably don't want me, but there's no way you can be a proper pack leader without me by your side. " He said.
I shook my head at him and glared. He was absolutely right, but I couldn’t let him think that he had the power to sway me.
"Really? Just watch me. Basement it is." I then looked towards the door, " Beta!" I yelled. Carina came rushing in.
"Yes alpha?"
I smirked at my mate who looked very confused. It irritated me that I didn't scare him the way I should've. But he was going to see how ruthless I could really be. Mate or not, no man should ever think I needed him to survive. Never. I got this pack to greatness by myself and I intended to keep it that way.
"Bring his pack members... what's left of them. It's time to add some new additions to my collection in the basement." I said.
Her face paled.
"Alpha, he's your ma-"
"No, I don't have a mate. I am the alpha. Just do as I say, or you'll join them too Carina."
She nodded obediently and was off. My mate stared at me in disbelief. As though he hadn't expected me to be so... cruel. But that was his own mistake.
ROSEI woke up the next morning, hoping that last night's events were all just a dream. Unfortunately, reality came in the form of a brunette with green eyes- Carina. She insisted on "talking" with me about throwing my mate in the basement. I truly didn't see what was wrong with it. I just threw my mate into the cold, windowless, foodless basement along with his pack. Absolutely fine. I mean, it wasn’t as though I’d let him die or anything.Of course, Carina harboured something called compassion. A horrid thing to harbour, if you ask me. It made one quite weak! She went on and on about how mates are amazing and how my mate will make me stronger and take some of my work load off because I was, and I quote, "cranky"."I'm not cranky. I'm just...""You're just lacking love. And a mate comes with that!" She said as she sat on my bed and watched me search for a pair of shoes in my cupboard.I turned around and sighed, "
ROSELater on, in the day, after checking up on Ryker again and then again- it was just because of Carina, at least, that’s what I told myself- I decided that I would in fact go to the party after a heated argument with him. He just couldn't stay out of my business and the troubling part of it was that I was slowly becoming addicted to our little quarrels... And it was only day 2 of knowing the idiot. So, I told him I'd go to this party and just to tick him off, implied that I would be dancing in the arms of strangers. The downfall of many mate pairs was their jealousy and possessiveness. All I did was use that to get under Ryker’s skin. That however was not my actual plan. My actual plan was to-"Are you done yet? I want to see what you look like!" Carina yelled. I just groaned, irritated by her childishness, and continued to run the straightener through my copp
ROSEI woke up the next morning with a killer headache and Carina laying at the foot of my bed. Idiot. As I looked at her weirdly positioned self, an evil idea made its way into my mind. So, I slowly crept out of bed, tiptoeing and allowing the wolf side of me to take over. I then went to the bathroom, filled my water jug with some water, snuck back into my room and dumped it all over Carina. She awoke with a loud scream while I just stood there, arms crossed and an evil smirk on my face."The other day you questioned my maturity. This would be revenge!" I said.Carina looked up through her soaking red strands of hair. She was drenched with theicy water which made her poor, expensive, navy dress cling to her body."Rose! I hate you!" She yelled.I shook my head and tisked."Th
ROSEDeamian looked at me curiously. He knew I was lying but didn't say anything as he just smiled and attempted to hook our arms together. I pulled my arm away and shook my head at him. This happened multiple times."So where to first?" He asked me.I sighed and told him that I'd take him to the training grounds. By this time, it was midmorning and the sun shone brightly in the sky making the cut green grass appear shimmery. The place was large and divided into sections through the use of white paint, fences and some places even covered in netting. Each specific place had a specific purpose. The netted sections covered muddy terrain for training in rainy weather. Others contained deadly obstacle courses, combat grounds, gymnastic areas, open space for running, sections containing small pools for underwater training, sports grounds toward the end of the large field, bordering the woods, and finally, the large indoors training building. As soo
ROSEDead was an understatement. As soon as the brunette with grassy green eyes looked at me, I saw her smile for Deamian turn to a scowl of resentment for me."You. What are you doing here?" She spat, crossing her arms over. Although she had every right to be angry, she was still talking to her alpha and I was not one for letting others disrespect me."Excuse me, but I am not a dog that you can just speak to like that." I said. It was then that Deamian spared the both of us confusing glances."You sure do act like a dog! And you look like one too. Like a mutt." And that was it. That was a boundary she overstepped... not even overstepped, she leapt across it and stomped on it.I could feel my claws elongate and my fangs as well. I let out a low, angry growl which ripped from my chest. But she didn't look like she was scared.
ROSEI sat across from the Moon Goddess who sipped her tea and then looked up at me. I'd asked her a question and yet she still refused to tell me the answer."How familiar are you with your pack’s history?" She asked me as she daintily placed her teacup back on her saucer and cleared her throat.I shrugged, "I don't remember much. I was young when my parents told me about the pack."She shook her head in disappointment."You never even tried to find out?" She asked.I sighed, not in the mood to be lectured, "Look, I didn't have time to go and find out okay? Now if you would please enlighten me, Your Greatness!"She leaned back and placed her cup beside herself on the coffee table. She then crossed her legs over like a lady and interlocked her hands.
ROSE"What do you mean I will be living in your house? And what about my pack?" he said.I rolled my eyes at him as I led his dirty, smelly self to my house."People are trying to kill me and if they get to you, I'm definitely dead." I said.He huffed and stayed quiet until we reached the house. He looked up at the large light grey painted home surrounded by rose bushes of every colour and I swear for a second a smile made its way into his face. But it was gone too soon to be certain. We went inside and he ogled at the interior. The soft, blue couches, the black Coffee table, the big television against the wall, the fireplace and the white carpet underneath a small table which stood systematically around the lounge. We then went upstairs to the rooms and I led him to his."Your room. Ther
RYKERRYKERI didn't understand her... I couldn't. She was so heartless and cold. It was as though her heart was utterly love intolerant. Her eyes even held the most unemotional look in them as she glanced at me from above her cup of coffee. Did she really hate me so much that she wouldn't even try to get to know me? I knew I was a "worthless omega" but did she really hate my status that much? If she knew who I really was, would her feelings for me change? Would she fall for the other part of me?"So, I'm out today, last night we had a few more stray werewolves. You can check out the pack grounds if you would like. If so, inform Carina. Under no circumstance are you to go around unattended!""Why?" I asked, hoping that maybe it was a sign of affection. Maybe she didn't want me hurt because she actually cared."So, you don't go telling people t
