My heart raced as Victor’s eyes blazed with fury. I scrambled to my feet, clutching the razor tightly, my mind racing for an escape plan. Because how in the world was I going to fight this man who looked like he could lift ten times my weight in the gym.

But before I could even take a step, Victor lunged at me with a ferocity that sent chills down my spine.

I dodged his attack just in time, feeling the rush of adrenaline coursing through my veins. I was going to die!

With trembling hands, I held up the razor defensively, ready to use it if necessary.

This was so much different; so much chaotic than when I had to deal with the CEO.

“You think you can betray me?” Victor’s voice was a menacing growl as he advanced towards me, his eyes glinting with malice. “You’re nothing but a worthless tramp!”

His words stung, even though I knew that I was not who he had said I was. But the thing was, at this point, could I say I was not? In order to do Fallon’s bidding, I had to throw myself at me

Time seemed to stand still. Everything did as I plunged the razor forward with all the strength that I could muster. It found its mark, piercing Victor’s flesh with a sickening sound that made me nauseous. His eyes widened in shock and pain as he staggered backward, a crimson liquid gushing out of the wound. It seemed like he wanted to fight back but he could not bring himself to do that. For a moment, there was silence, broken only by the sound of our ragged breaths. Then, with a low groan, he collapsed to the ground, his lifeblood pooling around him. I stood there, trembling with a mixture of fear and adrenaline, unable to comprehend what I had just done. But as the reality of my actions sank in, a sense of grim satisfaction washed over me. I had done it. I had taken down the man who stood in the way of me doing Fallon’s bidding. It felt so good but also so awful. I was relieved, I would say that. This man could have easily killed me. So now, this was my second body count. I ha

The silence was loud as I stood there, waiting for my husband to say something; anything. My heart was thundering to the point that I think I could even hear it. My throat was dry and my breathing was heavy as I waited. Chris took a shaky breath, his hands trembling as he struggled to find the words. “I can’t believe I didn’t see it sooner,” He whispered, his voice choked with emotion. “I can’t believe I didn’t see who you really are.” My heart sank as I watched the pain and betrayal etched into every line of his face. I wanted to reach out to him, to explain, to beg for forgiveness. But I still did not know what he was talking about. I needed to be sure before I gave myself away. “What do you mean?” I managed to choke out, my voice barely above a whisper as I took a tentative step towards him. He turned away from me, his shoulders hunched with the weight of his sorrow. “I mean…I mean all of it,” He muttered, his voice heavy with accusation. “The lies, the secrets…the distance b

I did not want to keep holding onto the photographs, so I placed them back in the folder and gently put them down on the coffee table. Chris’s expression softened for a moment, confusion flickering in his eyes. “Then what is this?” He demanded, gesturing to the damning evidence spread out before us. I took a deep breath, gathering my courage to reveal the truth, no matter how damning it may be. Yes, I was not going to let my marriage fail because of Fallon, I had already lost my will and life. I could tell Chris the truth and tell him not to tell anyone. I’m sure he would do that for me. But was he going to forgive me for what I did with the CEO and Victor? Was he going to forgive me for selling my body and seducing them, just to end up killing them in the end?“Listen to me, please,” I began, my voice shaky but resolute. “I have been keeping secrets from you, but not the ones you think.” He folded his arms across his chest, skepticism plastered on his face. “Go on,” He said, his

Chris frowned, clearly not expecting my resistance. “Linda, I understand your hesitation, but we can’t keep living like this. We need to confront this situation head-on. If we have evidence, they’ll have to listen to us.” Yeah, it all made perfect sense on paper but that did not mean that it would work out in the real world. I had a huge feeling that Fallon had some power or at least, some influence over the police force. I mean, we were in China, but I had a feeling that she had the same if not twice as much influence back in the United States. I bit my lip, feeling torn between the fear of facing the consequences and the necessity of seeking justice. “I just…I’m afraid of what might happen,” I confessed. “You don't know Fallon like I do, she has me in the palm of her hand.” “She could have my parents killed in the blink of an eye. They’re not safe, even you; you’re not safe,” I continued. Chris reached out and took my hand, his touch offering a small comfort. Though he was tryi

I stirred from my slumber as the gentle rays of morning sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow across the room. Blinking away the remnants of sleep. I stretched, feeling the tension of the previous night’s unrest gradually melting away. I kind of felt well-rested. Maybe that was because I was. Either way, I needed it.The soft hum of the outside world drifted in through the open window, a soothing melody that filled the room with a sense of calm. Birds chirped in the distance, their cheerful song a welcome contrast to the quiet stillness of the morning. I glanced at the clock on the nightstand, the numbers reading that it was now almost noon. Wow, I had slept a while. A pang of guilt tugged at my conscience as I realized how late it was, but I pushed it aside, choosing instead to savor the rare moment of peace that enveloped me. Swinging my legs over the edge of the bed, I stretched once more, relishing the sensation of my muscles loosening and relaxing with ea

“Space?” Fallon scoffed, her tone dripping with disdain. “You think you can just hang up on me and expect everything to go back to normal? Think again, Linda. You may have fooled yourself into believing you can escape me, but I assure you, you’re not going anywhere.” Dread danced in the pit of my stomach, a cold knot of fear tightened with each passing second. I knew I had made a mistake by hanging up on her, but honestly, I did not regret it. I was tired and needed some peace. I was not the wife of a mafia boss or even the boss. I was just an ordinary woman…who had killed two men. “I’m sorry, I apologize for what I did. It won’t happen again,” I replied to her. “Is there a reason that you called last night?” I could tell that she was rolling her eyes even though I could not see her. I just knew it. “No, I actually called you so we could go out and have a few drinks.” Her tone was sarcastic. “F*ck, no! I called you because I need you at the Mayor’s event in half an hour.” “The Ma

We were now in a black fancy car that was electric. It was not a Telsa, I knew how they looked. But I did know that it was an electric car. I kept glancing at Chris, trying to wrap my head around what had happened not too long ago. Why did he pull away when I tried to kiss him? I know I was not being delusional, he did pull away. When he noticed that I kept looking at him, he chuckled lightly and asked, “Is something wrong? Do I have something in my hair?” He tried to touch it but I gestured for him to stop. “No, no, you’re good.” “Then what is going on? You keep staring at me weirdly…” He smiled, confusion plastering on his face. Should I bring it up? I was contemplating it because what if it triggered him and we ended up going to the event mad at each other? So to avoid it, I just shrugged it off. “It’s nothing,” I replied. “Hmm,” He mumbled as he chuckled once more, peeling his eyes from on me and looking out the window at the passing buildings. When we reached the event, th

They didn’t know. None of them knew who they were applauding for. They were literally clapping for the devil. Her walk to the standing mic was elegant and confident. Her smile was as sharp as a knife and her dress was stunning. She had not looked in our direction yet but I had a strong feeling that she already knew that we were here. When the applause stopped, I kept staring at her. The police chief? Working with the FBI? What kind of twisted and sick game was this? I must have been sleeping and all this was just a huge nightmare. When I felt Chris’s gaze on me, I looked back at him. “Are you okay?” He asked lowly as Fallon gave her speech about justice and other things that made me so confused as to how all of this was possible. Did she have a twin? Was the person on the stage right now just a lookalike?“You look like you have seen a ghost,” He chuckled the words out. I broke eye contact with him and looked back at the women on the stage, trying to see if I was not hallucinatin

Linda’s POVWe managed to get out of the burning room, and I swear I think I got a few burns but the adrenaline drowned the pain out. We were headed out and had no idea where the exit was due to how much smoke and fire was assaulting us from almost everywhere. The pinching pain in my belly was growing and as much as I tried to brush it off, it was getting harder to do with each step that I took.Suddenly, the roof caved in and fell to the ground causing us to be separated by angry flames. I was stuck on the other side and Chris and the others were away from me.Fear filled me and I took a few careful steps away from the raging fire. “Help!” I exclaimed.“Keep calm, Linda. We will find a way to get to you, but for now, I would recommend that you keep moving.” He pointed towards the ceiling. When I looked up, I saw that the fire was eating it up, it could fall at any second. “Okay!” I said loudly, so I could be heard above all the commotion. When I turned around to start moving, I was

Linda’s POVI had never been so scared in my life, the room held a tension that I could not describe. It felt like a nightmare, a real one.It felt like I was hallucinating all of this, but deep down, I knew that I was not. This was real, and it was something that I could not escape from. “Please, think about the baby,” I begged Mr. Kingston, tears flowing from my eyes and snot running down my nose.“Did you think of the baby before you and your friends decided to f*ici up my life?” He asked, dark humor dancing in his eyes.“Light them up,” he said, walking away. In seconds he was out of the room. Kirby flashed me a sad look before her features hardened again. She then walked out, the doctor guy following her.I sniffled and then sobbed out even more. I was beginning to smell gasoline, the smell was overwhelming. Sh*t, they were going to burn us up. My vision got blurred for a few seconds before I blinked the tears away, making it clear again. The door opened and I saw Kirby and th

My heart was thumping in my chest and more tears threatened to spill from my eyes due to fear.“You better hope she answers, we are on a tight schedule,” Kirby warned me in a hard tone. I was praying for that too. “Call her again, maybe her phone is on Do Not Disturb,” I tried to find an explanation.“Hmm,” She mumbled in response before deciding to make the call again. This time, Fallon answers on the third ring.I let out a breath that I did not know I was holding. Kirby brought the phone close to me and put it on speakerphone. “This better be important, because I’m very busy right now,” Fallon said, it sounded like she was on a busy street because I could hear the sound of cars and people being people in the background. “It is,” I replied. “Fallon, I need your help; Chris and I have been kidnapped. The like went quiet for a few seconds and then she broke the silence. “Linda?” “Yes, Fallon, please…hur

Linda’s POVBeing bound was not a nice experience, the ropes were so tight that every time I would try to move, they would pinch my skin. But I had made my decision, I wanted to come out of here alive. I wanted my baby to come out of here alive, so I was going to do everything I was told to do no matter how messed up it would be.Kirby and the guy who I thought was a doctor soon walked out of the room, leaving me with the guy who was not too far from me.I knew it was a man because of his build but I could not tell who he was. He was wearing old and ragged clothes and seemed to be unconscious because his head was bent over in a weak way.“Are you okay?” I asked, attempting to see if he was awake even though I felt he was not. There was no reply. So I sighed and then glanced around the room, looking to see if I could find a way of escape, but it seemed like the only way to get out here was through the door. There were two windows in the room but both of them had iron bars that did not

Linda’s POVThe car soon came to a stop, it had been a long ride. “Take her inside,” Kirby commanded and the Doctor did as he was asked. He opened the door and got down before gesturing that I do the same. I did not want to be hurt and did not want my baby to be hurt either so I did as he told me. I got down from the car and glanced around. It was now dark but the lights from on the property were impressively bright. Acres of land stretched from both sides that I looked at, and a huge stood not too far from me. It looked like a castle. It was stunning but it had a dark energy that caused my heart to skip a beat. I already knew who was behind this. I mean, I had my suspicions at first but they had now been confirmed. The thought of Chris entered my mind and I felt a heaviness that I could not ignore. Why did they have me tell him that I was on a street that we were miles away from? Had it been a way to get him alone so they could harm him? Oh my gosh, I did not know what I would do

Chris’s POVKidnapped? The word rang in my ear over and over, and I could barely hear a thing after she had said that. The car behind mine honked loudly and I was pulled out of my trance. “Clink Street? You said you’re being held at Clink Street?” I needed to make sure that I had heard her right. “Yes…” Her voice broke before a shudder followed shortly after. Then the call dropped. I tried to call but there was no answer. So I tried again; again and again. And with the cars honking behind me as I was parked at the traffic light, blocking their way, I knew that I had to put it all aside for only a few seconds. My mind raced as I tried to make sense of what had just happened. Lind, my wife, was kidnapped. The thought was incomprehensible, surreal. But I could not afford to dwell on it. I had to act, I had to act fast. With a deep breath, I refocused on the present. The light that was was still green, so I finally drove and ignored the road rage that I was getting as I pulled to the

Panic surged within me, but I tried to keep my voice steady. “What do you mean, you lied?” I demanded, my voice trembling despite my efforts to remain calm. Dr. Adam’s smile faded, replaced by a chilling expression that sent shivers down my spine. “You, Linda,” He said softly, his ice blue eyes locking onto mine with unsettling intensity, “You’re not going to another room as you already can tell, you’re going to a little place called ‘Pay Back’.” I immediately jumped out of the wheelchair and tried to run for my life but I fell to the hard ground. We were in the parking place, basement level. “Help!” I screamed at the top of my lungs but it was like there was not even a soul there. As I hit the ground, pain shot through my body, but fear propelled me to my feet again. Adrenaline surged through my veins as I fought to escape, but Dr. Adam was quick to react. Linda’s POVI could barely speak, the pain overwhelming me as I doubled over on the bathroom floor. Every fiber of my being screamed with agony, and I feared for the safety of my unborn child. I already knew what it was, what was causing the pain. This was not my first rodeo, it was not the first time that it had happened. Aunt Maze and William rushed into the room, their expressions filled with alarm as they saw me writhing in pain. “What’s going on?” Aunt Maze exclaimed, her voice tinged with worry. I struggled to find the words amidst the agony that consumed me. “It’s the bullet…it’s moving and must be hitting one of my organs,” I managed to gasp out, tears stinging my eyes as another wave of pain washed over me. Fallon’s eyes widened with realization. “We need to get her to the hospital, now,” She said urgently, her voice plastered with panic. Linda’s POVMy heart skipped a beat at the revelation, the gravity of the situation sinking in. The Kingstons had vanished without a trace, the police had no way of knowing where they were. I wanted to ask how that was even possible. But I already knew the answer to that. Power, money, and influence. They had found a way to disappear because of who they were. “What do you mean disappeared?” Chris demanded, his voice smeared with urgency. “How could a prison transport vehicle just f*cking disappear?” Sergeant Thompson’s tone remained solemn. “We are still trying to ascertain the details, but it appears to have been a deliberate act. We suspect foul play.” “Of course, there was,” I heard Fallon say under her breath before letting out a string of curses. The car we were in was more of a van and we could all fit in easily. My mind raced with so many possibilities, each one more terrifying than the last. Had all of this been orchestrated from the start? Was he planning revenge right n
