Chris’s POV

As I neared the location indicated on the GPS, my anticipation grew, mingled with fear and determination. The address led me to a very fancy part of the city, which threw me off a bit.

Why would Linda be held in one of the many high-rises around this area?

You see, the location was not specific, it just told me the block of where the call came from. But either than that, I was left with nothing substantial. I had to find a way to get more information, there were so many high-rises here, how would I know which one to go to?

As I reached a traffic light, I slowed down and waited for the red light as people crossed the crosswalk. Then my phone made a small buzz. It was on the empty seat next to me. I reached for it and took advantage of the wait.

Looking at the screen, I saw that it was a new message; one from the kidnappers! Adrenaline shot through me as I looked at the message. There were no words, only a picture. And the person that was in the picture was my wife.

Chris’s POVWith the cover of daylight and the hustle and bustle of the villa’s activities, I made my way through the compound. I couldn’t believe that I was doing this. I was a well-known CEO, I should have people to do things like this. In fact, I had people that did things like this for me. But no, I wanted to do it. I wanted to be the one to save my wife. I headed to the fancy building from the back, making sure that I was not seen. My heart was racing but I was being very careful and being driven by one thing: getting Linda out of here. When I reached the building, I started to hear voices. My aim was to find a way to enter and that was what I did when I used the back door, walking into the very fancy hallway that soon led me past the kitchen area. I don’t think there were guards in the house, but there were a few maids who were busy doing what they were being paid to do. I was already wearing a suit so I think I fit easily into the scene. So instead of being suspicious, I s

Chris’s POVAs we walked down the hallway, Hunter kept stealing nervous glances in my direction, as if he expected me to lash out at any moment. And to be honest, part of me wanted to. In fact, I knew that I was going to, but I needed information first. So I forced myself to maintain control, to hold onto my anger until I had all the facts. Then I would unleash it on whoever was responsible for my wife’s disappearance. Finally, we reached a quieter part of the villa, away from prying eyes and listening ears. Hunter turned to face me, his expression solemn. “Chris, I know this looks bad,” He began, his voice heavy with regret. “But there’s more to it than you realize.” I crossed my arms over my chest, my patience wearing thin. “Then enlighten me,” I said sharply. I was proud of myself for how well I was controlling my emotions. “Because right now, all I see is you knowing where my wife is and not wanting to tell me.” “I…I don’t know, man, I swear,” He replied, not missing a beat.

Chris’s POVAs I drove, my mind stirred with plans and strategies. I needed to approach this situation carefully, ensuring that I did not tip off my father before I had a chance to confront him directly. And I knew just the person who could help me gather the information I needed. Arriving home, I wasted no time. I headed straight to my study, locking the door behind me. I pulled out my phone and dialed a number, waiting impatiently as it rang. “Hey, Chris, what’s up?” The familiar voice on the other end. “Jack, I need your help,” I said, my tone urgent. Jack was an old friend, someone that trusted to do some dark things. He also happened to owe me a favor, and now it was time to cash in. “Of course, man. What do you need?” Jack replied, his voice much more serious now. “I need you to dig up everything you can on my father,” I said, my jaw clenched with determination. “I need to know where he’s been, who he’s been meeting with, everything.” There was a small pause on the other

Chris’s POVMeghan’s laughter echoed through the phone, sending a chill down my spine. “Oh, Chris, sweetie, you really should have listened to me,” She taunted. “But since you seem a bit slow on the update, let me spell it out for you. I have decided to take matters into my own hands.”My heart pounded in my chest as I watched the news anchor report on the scandal, detailing our tumultuous relationship and the impending fatherhood of my child. This felt like a nightmare. This was going to affect not only my marriage and my life, but it was also going to take a huge toll on my career and reputation. This was pure sh*t!“Did you really think that could walk away from this, Chris? Did you really think you could make me move without me making one in response? I warned you, and you now, you’re going to dance with the consequences.” Her voice dripped with malice. “And your boyfriend? He would know about the child, he would leave you,” I said, still trying to make sense of the situation.

Chris’s POVIt was the next day and I had just come from a run to try to clear my head. My heart was pounding in my chest as I walked into the compound, my sports clothes were drenched in sweat and I was tired. “Good day to you, Mr. Kingston,” The gardener greeted me, and I nodded his way, flashing him a small smile. But I felt weird, I felt like he knew. I felt like he knew about the Meghan thing on the news or via the internet. Whether he had heard it from his family or friends, the fact remained that I felt like he knew. And now, maybe he was judging me. Meghan had ruined my reputation and painted me as one of the biggest mistakes I had made in my life. I picked up my pace, wanting to get into the villa as quickly as possible, but without raising eyebrows. When I finally walked into the huge house, I let out a breath that I had not realized that I had been holding. Thirsty, I headed to the kitchen to grab a glass of water. When I reached there, I opened the cabinet to grab a gl

Chris’s POV“Jack, what’s the update?” I asked, my voice edged with anticipation. “Yeah, um, Chris, I’ve got something big,” Jack’s voice crackled through the speaker. “I have managed to track down your father’s location. Right now, he’s at an abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of a town out of the city.” A surge of adrenaline coursed through me at Jack’s words. Finally, we had a lead. “That’s great news, Jack. But in your professional opinion, do you think that’s where he might be holding my wife hostage?” A small pause lingered and the guy responded, “Man, I don’t know. But from the work I have done, that’s where he goes about every day. Why would he be going to an abandoned warehouse?” I nodded as if he could see me. “You’re right. Thanks for the update, I will head there right away.” “Sure, but you know how your old man can be, be careful, Chris,” Jack warned, hs tone grave. “This place is also heavily guarded. You will need backup.” I glanced at Fallon, who nodded in agre

  • Secrets, Seduction, & Serenity   Time To Escape

Linda’s POVFor the past day or two, Kirby had been treating me way better than she ever did in the beginning. And I knew why, of course, I knew. It was because of the baby that was inside of me. She kept bringing me good food and juices. At some point, she even brought some vitamins. I think she believed in some way, deep down, that this was her way of taking care of the baby that she had lost. I felt for her, I did. Imagine losing the love of your life and then losing the baby that you were supposed to have for him. So in a way, it did make sense why she was so hardhearted and cold. I was full, I had just eaten and there was some pain between my legs but it was much better than when the morphine had finally worn off. I was sitting on the mattress, lying my back against the wall. Then the door suddenly opened, Kirby rushed in and closed it. I knew that Mr. and Mrs. Kingston were out there, it was already explained to me that I was about to be transferred somewhere else; I think i

Linda’s POVKirby was strong because if it was me, I would have folded long since. She held Mr. Kingston's gaze with unwavering determination, her stance firm and unyielding. Despite the tension crackling in the air, she remained composed, her eyes flashing with defiance. The man’s suspicion seemed to deepen as he studied her, his gaze flickering between Kirby and me. It was clear that he wasn’t convinced by her explanation, but for the moment, he seemed willing to set aside his doubts in favor of survival. “Fine,” He said, at last, his voice low and grudging. “But keep a close eye on her. We can’t afford any more surprises.” Kirby nodded, her expression neutral as she turned her attention back to the task at hand. “Understood,” She replied briskly, her tone leaving no room for argument. With a heavy sigh, Mr. Kingston leaned against the wall, his shoulders tense with anticipation. Mrs. Kingston hovered nearby, her expression a mixture of fear and determination. I noticed that sh

We were headed out and had no idea where the exit was due to how much smoke and fire was assaulting us from almost everywhere. The pinching pain in my belly was growing and as much as I tried to brush it off, it was getting harder to do with each step that I took.Suddenly, the roof caved in and fell to the ground causing us to be separated by angry flames. I was stuck on the other side and Chris and the others were away from me.Fear filled me and I took a few careful steps away from the raging fire. “Help!” I exclaimed.“Keep calm, Linda. We will find a way to get to you, but for now, I would recommend that you keep moving.” He pointed towards the ceiling. When I looked up, I saw that the fire was eating it up, it could fall at any second. “Okay!” I said loudly, so I could be heard above all the commotion. In seconds he was out of the room. Kirby flashed me a sad look before her features hardened again. She then walked out, the doctor guy following her.I sniffled and then sobbed out even more. Linda’s POVBeing bound was not a nice experience, the ropes were so tight that every time I would try to move, they would pinch my skin. But I had made my decision, I wanted to come out of here alive. I wanted my baby to come out of here alive, so I was going to do everything I was told to do no matter how messed up it would be.Kirby and the guy who I thought was a doctor soon walked out of the room, leaving me with the guy who was not too far from me.I knew it was a man because of his build but I could not tell who he was. He was wearing old and ragged clothes and seemed to be unconscious because his head was bent over in a weak way.“Are you okay?” I asked, attempting to see if he was awake even though I felt he was not. There was no reply. So I sighed and then glanced around the room, looking to see if I could find a way of escape, but it seemed like the only way to get out here was through the door. There were two windows in the room but both of them had iron bars that did not

Linda’s POVThe car soon came to a stop, it had been a long ride. “Take her inside,” Kirby commanded and the Doctor did as he was asked. He opened the door and got down before gesturing that I do the same. I did not want to be hurt and did not want my baby to be hurt either so I did as he told me. I got down from the car and glanced around. It was now dark but the lights from on the property were impressively bright. Acres of land stretched from both sides that I looked at, and a huge stood not too far from me. It looked like a castle. It was stunning but it had a dark energy that caused my heart to skip a beat. I already knew who was behind this. I mean, I had my suspicions at first but they had now been confirmed. The thought of Chris entered my mind and I felt a heaviness that I could not ignore. Why did they have me tell him that I was on a street that we were miles away from? Had it been a way to get him alone so they could harm him? Oh my gosh, I did not know what I would do

Chris’s POVKidnapped? The word rang in my ear over and over, and I could barely hear a thing after she had said that. The car behind mine honked loudly and I was pulled out of my trance. “Clink Street? You said you’re being held at Clink Street?” I needed to make sure that I had heard her right. “Yes…” Her voice broke before a shudder followed shortly after. Then the call dropped. I tried to call but there was no answer. So I tried again; again and again. And with the cars honking behind me as I was parked at the traffic light, blocking their way, I knew that I had to put it all aside for only a few seconds. My mind raced as I tried to make sense of what had just happened. Lind, my wife, was kidnapped. The thought was incomprehensible, surreal. But I could not afford to dwell on it. I had to act, I had to act fast. With a deep breath, I refocused on the present. The light that was was still green, so I finally drove and ignored the road rage that I was getting as I pulled to the

Panic surged within me, but I tried to keep my voice steady. “What do you mean, you lied?” I demanded, my voice trembling despite my efforts to remain calm. Dr. Adam’s smile faded, replaced by a chilling expression that sent shivers down my spine. “You, Linda,” He said softly, his ice blue eyes locking onto mine with unsettling intensity, “You’re not going to another room as you already can tell, you’re going to a little place called ‘Pay Back’.” I immediately jumped out of the wheelchair and tried to run for my life but I fell to the hard ground. We were in the parking place, basement level. “Help!” I screamed at the top of my lungs but it was like there was not even a soul there. As I hit the ground, pain shot through my body, but fear propelled me to my feet again. Adrenaline surged through my veins as I fought to escape, but Dr. Adam was quick to react. They had found a way to disappear because of who they were. “What do you mean disappeared?” Chris demanded, his voice smeared with urgency. “How could a prison transport vehicle just f*cking disappear?” Sergeant Thompson’s tone remained solemn. “We are still trying to ascertain the details, but it appears to have been a deliberate act. We suspect foul play.” “Of course, there was,” I heard Fallon say under her breath before letting out a string of curses. The car we were in was more of a van and we could all fit in easily.
