Jayson

It has been six months since Alexi, and I have seen Taelin. She rarely came with our parents when they would visit, and when we came home for summer break, she was away at some art camp or something like that. I have no idea what happened to make her distance herself from us and more or less avoid us. Janelle, her mother, asked us to come home for dinner about three weeks ago, but Taelin ended up not being able to come home for it. She told her mother that she had a class trip that was important and counted for a large part of her grade. I knew Janelle had been disappointed, but she wanted Taelin to focus on her school, so she dealt with it. Alexi and I are fraternal twins, but we look a lot alike. Most believe we are brothers, not twins. We have always been close and gotten along great. We have the same taste in women, but we have never found one that we both wanted or wanted to share. That changed the first time we saw Taelin.

[{Flashback Start} Alexi and I had met Janelle a few times before dinner that night and we liked her. She wasn’t like the other women that Dad had dated before. She had told us about her daughter, Taelin. Both of us thought that was a quite different but pretty name. Taelin had been visiting her cousins back in Boston but had arrived here two days ago. Alexi and I had been out of town when she arrived so tonight at dinner would be our first meeting. Dad had just recently convinced Janelle to move in with him which meant Taelin would be moving in with us soon.

“Have you seen a picture of her?” Alexi asked.

“No, I felt weird asking Janelle if she had any pictures. Dad told me she is two or three inches shorter than Janelle. He also said that she is beautiful.” I told him.

“I think Dad is biased. Besides, I don’t think he would come out and say if she is hideous around Janelle.” Alexi pointed out. 

I nodded in agreement as we climbed into the passenger seat of his car. We were meeting Dad and Janelle at the restaurant. I saw Dad as we walked up to the table but stopped dead in my tracks when I saw the angel sitting at the table with him and Janelle. I felt Alexi hitting my arm, so I knew he had seen her as well and he was thinking the same thing I was. She was stunning. Dad was right, she was tiny.

She barely reached out shoulders. Alexi and I are 6’6” so that makes her around 5’4”. Her waist length hair, which I am guessing was close to a platinum blond color is currently dyed several shades of pink causing her bright blue eyes the color of azurite too pop. Her skin looked like it was just starting to tan. When she lifted her head and looked at us, I felt my heart skip a beat and my breath caught in my throat. Alexi grabbed my arm which meant he was feeling the same thing I was. The moment she smiled at us I knew she belonged to Alexi and me. She would be our Mafia Queen. {Flashback End}]

The three of us hit it off. Alexi and I made sure to show how much we wanted her and that she was ours. We had also made to sit down and talk with Janelle and dad. Janelle had figured out that we liked Taelin. She was not mad about it, but she did want Alexi and I to wait for any type of sexual relationship until Taelin turned 18. It made sense. I was more surprised by how okay with the whole situation she was. Dad was cool about it as well. So, when she distanced herself from us, we were shocked and neither of us could figure out what had happened. When we tried to talk with her, she would roll her eyes at us and walk away. She mostly ignored us which both pissed us off and drove us insane.

“Are you sure it will be okay that I am coming with you guys?”  Zoe asked.

“Yes, I told Dad and Janelle we were bringing you. They are fine with you coming. Dad did not want you left home alone with your asshole of a father out there. Colton will not be home until later. Everything will be fine. You will get to meet Taelin tonight.”  Alexi told her.

“Thank you both. I cannot wait to meet her. I hope she likes me.”  Zoe replied.

We had offered to bring Taelin with us, but Janelle told us that she would be arriving after us since she didn’t get off work until later. I didn’t like the idea of her working but right now there is nothing either of us can do until we talk with her and figure out what in the hell is wrong. We had been there about a half an hour when Taelin walked in. She looked so damn sexy. She had on a full-length black skirt with a slit up both sides to mid-thigh. Her shirt was the same color as her hair making her stunning eyes pop and it showed off just enough of her cleavage.

I couldn’t take my eyes off her, and I knew Alexi had the same fucking problem. I saw her smile at her mother, but that smile fell when she saw Alexi and me. It turned into a look I couldn’t place when she saw Zoe. Janelle walked over to her and gave her a hug as Dad gave them a soft smile. I looked at Alexi and he had the same smile on his face. 

“Hey Taelin.” I said.

“Hey.” She replied.

“This is our friend Zoe. Zoe this is Taelin.” Alexi said.

“It is nice to meet you, Zoe.” Taelin said to her.” 

“It is nice to meet you as well. Jayson and Alexi have told me so much about you.” Zoe chirped.

“I am sure they have.” Taelin mumbles. 

I can hear the sarcasm in her voice. She is not directing it at Zoe but at the two of us. She sat down beside her mother, who was directly across from Zoe. Those two seemed to get along fine. They were talking about something that I did not understand. Taelin, however, would barely look at us. The atmosphere was so tense you could practically taste it in the air. I saw Janelle and dad look at each other before they looked between the three of us.

“So, Taelin how are your classes going?” Dad asked.

“They are going well. Mr. Flinton, the art teacher, is more than pleased with my work. The only class I am having issues with is Math.” Taelin chirped.

“Wait Mr. Flinton? Nick and Rich have a couple of classes with him. We had no idea that you were at school with us.” Alexi commented.

“Why didn’t you tell us.” I asked.

We had our suspicion that she was attending college with us after Nick and Rich told us they thought Taelin was in their classes, but they weren’t positive that it was her. I had shown them a couple of pictures the other day and they confirmed that it was in fact Taelin, but we wanted to hear it from her.

“Taelin, you told David and I you told the boys you were attending the same school.” Janelle hissed.

“Sorry, it must have slipped my mind. Then I got caught up in my classes and forgot about it.” She replied. 

Taelin didn’t look the least bit remorseful that she never told us that she was attending school with us. That also means she is living on her own or in the dorms, which I am not thrilled with. Alexi had the same pissed off look on his face.

“Do you live in the dorms?” Zoe asked.

“No, I have my own place on campus.” Taelin told her. 

I knew she was going to say that. She was going to come live with us if she went to college with us. That is why we had our master bedroom redone and why we gave her the other master bedroom. We also converted one room into an art studio for her. Not that she knows this. What the fuck is her problem? It was going to be a surprise.

“Kitten that is why Dad bought that house. There is a room for you there.” Alexi states.

“Taelin, the three of you got along so well at first, what happened that caused you to treat Jayson and Alexi like this? I do not understand.” Janelle asked.

“Why don’t you ask them. They are the ones that were embarrassed by my presence.” She hissed.

“What are you talking about?” I asked.

“Oh, please as if you don’t remember. Well, if you don’t remember then let me refresh your memory. So, who is she to you two? Shayla asked the two of you. Is she liking your stepsister or something? 

You two are so protective of her it is like you want her or something. Marie then asked the two of you to which you each responded.

Her name is Taelin, and she is not our stepsister. Her father passed away when she was younger, but her mother passed away when she was 14. Her mother and our stepmother were best friends. Our stepmother is also her god mother and none of her other family members were able to take her, so our stepmother did. Alexi replied to them

She is cute, but just someone that lives with us. She is a little too quiet and shy for the two of us. It was you Jayson that said that. 

I could hear the embrassased or disgusted tone in your voices. So, I decided to stay away from the two of you since you two clearly wanted nothing to do with me unless we were here at the house where no one else could see you socializing with me. I want to apologize to you and David. I have lost my appetite and I think it would be best if I leave.” Taelin told us.

“Zoe it was nice meeting you and I am glad you are going to be part of their family.”  Taelin says.

Alexi and I sat there in shock as she walked out. Fuck I had no idea that she had heard us say that. I know all the color has drained out of my face and I when I looked at Alexi, I could see his face is white as fuck. Dad is staring at us, and he is pissed. Fuck how do we fix this?
