Taelin

Week three of college has started. I both love and hate this time of year. I love the fall and all the changes in colour, but I hate that it is getting cold. I didn’t grow up in this weather. Mom and I moved here about a year before she met David. Her job had transferred her and we both thought it would be a good thing for us. A fresh start. I hadn’t known that all of my adoptive uncles had a gym here until I walked in and saw Uncle Stanton. They were surprised and thrilled that we would be living closer to them. This is also how Mom met David. It was a warm day for this time of year so I decided to study outside. I had been out here for about fifteen minutes when I noticed a shadow above me. I glance up to see Zoe standing there. I shouldn’t take my hurt and anger out on her, but she is the last person I wanted to see. She was nervous and I could tell she wasn't sure if she should talk to me or not. 

“I was wondering if we could talk?” Zoe asked.

“Sure have a seat. If this about Jayson and Alexi you have nothing to worry about. I am not interested in them they are my stepbrothers even if they won’t admit it.” I told her.

“Actually it is about them, and I know you are lying about being interested in them.” Zoe claims.

“Zoe I swear..” I say.

“Taelin, I am not dating or even interested in Jayson or Alexi. They are my friends and helping me with some family drama.” Zoe told me.

“Umm, okay.” I numble.

“My father is an abusive piece of shit. I got to know the twins half way through last year. I knew Etta and I came to her one night after my father had beat me black and blue. I know that their family was part of the Mafia as is mine. Etta took me to Jayson and Alexi who helped me get the fuck out of my house. I haven’t been back since. During the summer my father was able to find me and he more or less kidnapped me. He took me to some house that I had never been to and I met a man. My father had sold me to another Mafia leader. I was to marry him in a month, but Jayson, Alexi and the others rescued me. My father and that man have been looking for me ever since. David has put me under his protection. I live with one of their friends Colton. They had me come to dinner with them mainly because the didn’t want me to be home alone. Colton was going to be at work till late and they were afraid that my father or that guy was watching our place.” Zoe explained.

“Damn that is fucked up. Have they found your father yet?” I asked.

“No, but he has been seen. He owes that mafia guy a lot of money and I was the payment. I wanted you to know that there was nothing going on between me and the twins. They have already chosen the woman they want and that woman is you. You are all they talk about. Those two are wrapped around your little finger and you don’t even know it. I know what they said because they told me, but I also understand why they said what they said. I know they are your stepbrothers but that doesn’t matter to me. They said that shit that day to avoid all those catty stuck up bitches from starting terrible rumour about you if the three of you got together and they found out that you were their stepsister.” Zoe added.

I sat there staring at her. I had no idea what to say. I looked at her and I knew she wasn’t lying. I don’t think this girl is able to lie. I still couldn’t comprehend that Jayson and Alexi wanted me like that. I remember all the girls that hung off their arms and I was nothing like any of them. If she was right then I do understand why they said that shit, but then why have they never make an effort to talk to me about any of this. There was no way she was right, was there?

“Okay before I can even think about anything you just said I need some food. Let’s go grab something to eat.” I told her.

“Sounds good to me. I was on my way to the café when I saw you. I knew we needed to clear the air so I came over here.” Zoe admitted.

I packed up my shit and stood up. Zoe stood up beside me and we started walking to one of the popular cafes near the campus. Fuck, it was busy here and I am surprised we got a table. Chandra, one of the waitresses hurried over to us and took our order. I told Zoe everything that had happened since the three of us became stepsiblings. Knowing that Jayson and Alexi want to share me made the butterflies in my stomach flutter around. Mom was the only one that knew I was into polyamorous type relationships. I didn’t tell everyone this because I knew many would think I was weird or a slut.

Zoe was talking about all the guys. I think she may have a crush on Daymon which I can fully get behind. Unlike Lucas (manwhore), Daymon is not a man whore. I know he has a couple of girlfriends and those relationships have ended badly because the girls cheated on him. I think one was using him to get with Jayson and Alexi. As we walked out of the café we ran into four guys. I felt Zoe tense up.

“There is my fiance.” A guy with red hair stated.

“I am not your fiance.” Zoe retorted.

“Yes, you are and you are coming with me.” He hissed.

I stepped in front of her so he couldn’t touch her. He looked surprised to see me do this. All four of the guys were a good foot taller than me but I am not intimidated or afraid of them. He tried to grab her again but this time I slammed my fist into his face. He took a step back from the impact as he held his nose. The glare that he shot me was meant to scare me but it didn't. They looked at me like I was crazy or had grown a second head.

“You aren’t fucking touching her so get the fuck lost.” I Growled.

I had slipped my other hand into my pocket and unlocked my phone. I pressed a button and then sent the premade text I had written out in case shit like this happened.

“You little bitch. I was going to leave you here and take what is mine, but now you are coming with us. Grab them and throw them in the car.” The guy stated.

I started to fight but they grabbed us and drug us to a large black SUV. The windows were darkly tinted so there was no way anyone could see in. I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket so I knew David had received my text message. There was no way I was letting them take Zoe with out me. I knew David was going to be pissed but I also knew he knew that I would be fine. The bastards literally threw us into the truck. I felt my hip hit something and I knew there would be a bruise there tomorrow. I looked at Zoe and I saw her shaking and I could tell she was terrified. I knew I was pissing of the guys because I was not intimidated by by them.

“Don’t worry everything will be okay.” I whispered.

“Are you sure?” She whisper asked back.

“Yes, I am positive just watch me when we get to where ever they are taking us. Follow my lead.” I whispered to her.

I could tell she was confused but she nodded at me. We didn’t go very far before pulling into what looked like an abandoned factory or warehouse. So fucking cliché. I knew that David was tracking me and I am sure by now Jayson, Alexi, Daymon, and Lucas know what is going on. I have no idea what or if David had told mom what was happening, but I am sure she is freaking out. She might not be. I just had to buy us some time before the others arrived.

“I will admit you are one brave bitch and that was a hell of a hit.” The red head said.

“You haven’t seen anything yet.” I announced.

I smiled at him when I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket again, but it was a different vibration. David and the boys were here. Things were going to get interesting and I was about to have some fun. A sinister smile spread across my face which made them back up. If they only knew what was about to happen.
