Alyssa walked down the street with her heart a little lighter since she left his office and stormed into her car. However, she still has work to do if she was going to get the Chief of Staff of the US Army or as briefly known the General to confess his crimes to her. This crime at least. Who knows how many he’d had to confess if she asked all of them. Patriotic crimes.
She fished her phone out of her purse and turned her head slightly to nod at the two men following her. The one ring the limousine to come and they’d wait where they had dropped her off exactly. Alyssa found the contact of the Chief of Staff. She didn’t remember his name. It sounded bad but it was the truth. Fortunately for her, they know each other and he wouldn’t take it personally knowing her.She dialed his number and waited for his to answer as she took in her surroundings. She was 15 minutes away from the White House and half an hour from the closest Presidential safe house. If something were to happen she would have enough time to get to her apartment which was 20 minutes and be back in time. She wore her glasses and played the game of wondering what every stranger around her thought. The call went to voicemail. She went to call again but he immediately called her back.“Sorry, I was busy.” His voice echoed through the speakers.“It’s okay. I need to see the General.” She paused and she could feel him furrowing his eyebrows. “Tonight. Can you make it happen?”“Ms Pope do you mind telling me what this is about? It’s the leader of the US Army we are talking about. He is a busy man.” His tone sounded worried and breathless. The General was an intimidating man. But that’s all he was a dog that couldn’t bark. At least at her.“Can you make it happen?” She repeated with a more demanding tone. Her voice was stern and absolute. And there was no room for him to refuse.“Yes. But-““No but. I will see you at the White House.” She ended the phone call and walked to the limousine which had just rounded the corner. The bodyguard opened the door for her. And she smiled sinking in the backseat of the car. She let a breath out sliding her purse to the side. The car got moving and she lowered the window to get some air when her phone dinged. She ignored it. But then it dinged again. She reached it and it was her mother. She’d texted her for their monthly get together. Alyssa was from New York and when she decided to move to Washington her mother made her promise that they would not loose contact. Her father had died when she 24. She’d moved on since then. His memory hurt her but she’d learn from him to be strong.Alyssa smiled faintly at the phone, the thoughts of her family consuming her. She looked out the window wondering when her life had gotten so complicated. Her mother asked her continuously of her personal life. And what could she say? That she was dating a married man.She went to text back to her mother when the car stopped. She saw Erik rushing towards her car with a cigarette in his hands. It seemed he was out long before she’d arrived. He blocked the guard and opened the door himself. I got out with a frown in my face clinging onto the handle of my bag.“What?” She said boring her eyes to his. He grabbed her wrist and the guard was ready to intervene when she brushed him off.“We are about to discuss about the situation in Afghanistan. I think they’re suggesting retreat.” Her eyes widened and she nodded slamming the door shut.“Let’s go.” She breathed out and launched with a rush in the White House. She didn’t have a terminal day in the issue but she could offer her opinion of the matter from a military and political point of view. A friend of hers had served in Afghanistan and told her stories of the atrocities taking place there.Erik was the first to enter the room. She was shortly behind. At the head of the table sat the President who has pinned her with his eyes from the moment she’d stepped in. He’d only stop when the Chief of Staff pinched his arm before the others take notice. Politics. All pretense and lies. Erik took his seat next to the President and they continued with the slides they’d created on screens of the conference room. The counselors offered their thoughts and some of the Generals who participated in such meetings to offer their expert advice. Richard’s jaw clenched as he saw the picture of woman’s dead body distorted from stones. The video of her stoning was smuggled off Afghanistan illegally.Alyssa looked to the side when it played. She sat at the other end of the table. She turned to his direction. Their eyes met fleetingly. When the conversation resumed she listened cautiously.Until the bomb was dropped. The suggestion to retreat the American troops was presented. Alyssa’s face became cold.“Maybe it would be for the best if we did not get further involved. We don’t want to be accused of violating their sovereignty.” She exhaled sharply at the sound of these sentences.Erik’s voice echoed, “What’s your opinion Ms Pope?” She raised here eyes to meet the male-dominated room. Some eyes were welcoming, others judging and other demeaning. Women were too sensitive to take such decisions right?“You talked about sovereignty. Need I remind you this is a proxy war. It was a proxy war from the start. Let’s not hide behind our finger. But the retreat of the US troops from Afghanistan will mark the rise of an extremist illegitimate government. If we want to be called defenders of democracy and peace that would not be very wise militarily or politically. “ She explained and Richard was hanging from her lips. He admired her with a proud look.“Thank you Ms Pope.” The President said and she felt her knees getting weaker. Alyssa get a grip. She’d tell herself. With that she slowly and quietly exited the room heading to her office. Her heels clutching against the marble floors. When she entered she saw a handwritten note on the desk. The Chief of staff had scheduled a meeting with the General tonight at 7 pm in the Oval Room. The President would be out to a charity gala. She sighed taking her seat behind the desk and let her feet rest sliding them out of the heels for a bit. She ran her fingers through her hair calmly. And with a deep breath she let it all out. Her eyelids closed as she was enjoyed this moment of peace.A knock on her door. Carl. The President’s-He entered locking the door behind. His eyes gazed at her like a hungry animal. She gulped putting her shoes back on and rising quickly from the desk. Richard’s expression softened. He was hers.“Mr President…” She looked down to the ground avoiding eye contact. He chuckled approaching her. He didn’t say anything. She watched him circle the desk and head to the wall she’d trap herself against. He backed her to the wall, his breath on her forehead as he focused on her lips. “Richard…” she said breathless snapping her neck to the side. Her hands tried to push him away but he gripped the wrists and pinned them to her sides.“I want you.” He whispered and she squirmed under his touch. He leaned down, their lips were inches away. “You commanded the room. Earlier.” He planted a soft kiss on her neck. She squirmed harder trying to slither away even though she didn’t truly want to. “I missed you, Aly.” Aly. His nickname for her. She broke and when he crushed his lips against his she kissed him back passionately. His tongue explored her mouth as his hands travelled down to her hips pushing her closer to him as if to become one. His hands cupped her ass and her hands snaked around his neck pulling him deeper to the kiss. Richard hoisted her up and she wrapped her legs around his waist. The dress folded upwards exposing her underwear. He turned her towards the desk and pushed everything off. Richard settled her on the edge of the desk and he broke the kiss only to kiss her neck and collarbone. Alyssa’s fingers unbuttoned his pants as he slid her panties off.“Richard… The-“ she breathed out and he drowned her voice with a kiss.“Carl is out of the door. He is informed to not let anyone in for the next hour.” He said between breaths and soft kisses on her lips.“Hour?” She smirked and he gently pulled her closer causing her to arch her back.“Hour.” He reassured sliding into her. Alyssa dropped her head back in pleasure, her nails digging on his shoulders. Richard gripped her hair with one hand and raised her to claim her lips once again. As they kissed, Alyssa let soft moans escape her hoarse throat. Richard groaned at her moans savoring every one of them with his tongue and he picked up his pace pounding a little faster against her thighs. Alyssa broke the kiss in need of air, her expression resembling a bliss. She lowered to his neck and planted trails of soft kisses. Richard groaned gently as his hands snaked around her pulling her in a tight hug as he moved harder and faster against her.“I love you.” He said in a husky voice resting his head at the crook of her neck as he moans got louder. Her hold turned stronger and she ran her fingers through her hair.“I love you too.” She replied dropping her head to rest on his shoulder as she climaxed.“Fuck Alyssa…” he seethed as if her touch was burning him. She bit her lip panting as she cupped his face nibbling on his lips. “You don’t think we’re done, do you?” He smirked and she smiled enjoying every part of this inevitable mistake that fate had unleashed upon them.“Ms Pope can you stay behind?” Richard asked of Alyssa as Merlin exited and she was about to follow in his footsteps. She sighed and turned back into the Oval, eyeing Richard and his posture. He looked sad. But not as devastated as a man on the verge of loosing his wife was.“What can I do for you Mr President?” Alyssa questioned remaining glued in her position across from the couches, four feet away from him. She wouldn’t approach. She knew better than to close the distance between them. “I’m sorry I shouted.” He apologized exhaling sharply. “You’re not just my security director. And Merlin was right to call for you.” Richard ran a hand down his face wiping away the anger. His voice was calm and soothing like always.“It’s okay.” Alyssa reassured as he locked eyes with her. “Richard you need Katherine by your side.” Alyssa added to make sure he realized that he should end the fighting as soon as possible. Richard nodded and rounded his desk taking a seat behind it. “I know. I know.”
Alyssa was never a fan of scheming and manipulating but the city of Washington and its notorious residents made her engage in a world of deception and drama. She remembered the days when she served her country in Iran. When life was simple because there were no dilemmas. You simply had to survive, eat and return. There were no second thoughts because war stripped the reason of society away. As she walked down the corridor of the White House, she was just about to enter Merlin’s office when he heard him whispering on the phone. Alyssa stalled and leaned against the wall trying to overhear the conversation. “I do not believe the President has suspected anything. Alyssa wouldn’t dare tell him. She would protect him until the end…” she held her breath before pulling away and rushing towards Erik’s office. If Merlin was the mole, which circumstantial evidence pointed to then, she’d have to inform the rest so they could plan his demise. Erik’s secretary informed her that he had visited the
The day for the family interview had arrived and Katherine, Richard and little William were getting ready for the press. Katherine looked stunning as always in her royal blue tight fitted Chanel dress and Louboutin heels. She was studying the script with the difficult possible questions that may arise in the interview concerning the family’s private life or her husband’s work as a President and her conflict of interest when it comes to supporting something that goes against his policy. Alyssa was walking down the corridor ready to talk with the Press Secretary and inform them that Danielle, their interviewer and the channel, were ready for the Fist Family. “Alyssa, can I have a minute?” Katherine called her from the room she was sitting in. Papers in hands. Alyssa smiled and dismissed the Press Secretary as she entered the room.“Of course madame. What is it?” Alyssa approached her on the couch. She saw her expression turn into one of concern and doubt. “Is there a question you wish
Alyssa and Richard put their clothes on as they looked at each other with a small smile playing on their lips. Alyssa chuckled shaking her head in disbelief. Richard bit his lower lip to contain the wide smile that formed on his face hearing her chuckle. “You’re enjoying this?!” Alyssa playfully asked him as she put on her heels. One heel on, she bent on her side to put the other on. Richard took a step towards her and wrapped his arm around her waist. “I missed that smile.” He said to her warmly and Alyssa averted her eyes from his.“You’re giving me hope.” Alyssa exhaled sharply running her hands through her hair. “That’s because you’re trying so desperately to deny it.” Richard smirked and pulled her closer hugging her tightly. Her head rested against his chest as he stroked her hair, “there is hope Aly. I haven’t given up on us. I will never give up.” He whispered and it felt as if for a second the glimpse of this dream was true. That they could be together in the real world.“Yo
ALYSSA’s POV:The dinner with the Secretary of Defense went well. The man is very kind and actually has a plan to make the US a safer country. He’s very informed on the matter of the Second Amendment and the right to gun ownership whilst also acknowledging his responsibility as a public servant to protect the citizens and the children. I was pleasantly surprised by his responses to my questions and his knowledgeability. I paid for dinner to which he fought me restlessly but I insisted since he paid for our pre dinner drinks we had at the bar as our table was prepared. “See you in the White House.” I saluted him jokingly and exited the restaurant to head towards my car. I settled into the driver’s seat and took out my phone. It had dinged multiple times during dinner and I put it on silent mode. There were messages from Richard. He was expecting me. My reason told me to cancel. To let him wait there until he was too tired to wait more. But my hands gripped the steering wheel and I pr
Alyssa drove alone to the Pentagon without her agents. She was the last to arrive. Her connections there had informed her that the three men were already there and expecting. She smirked and entered the building. Her heart was pacing. They hadn’t been all four of them in the same room for quite some time. They didn’t think they would be. But tables turn and it seems that fate had come for their heads. She took the elevator down to the underground bankers where they’d decide to meet. The location was untraceable. These bankers would hide and protect the Cabinet and the President in case of an emergency. “Hello gentlemen.” Alyssa greeted them entering the banker. Their heads turned as she walked in and all eyes were on the tall slim woman rounding the long table where they sat. She sat on the head of the table and smiled faintly.“It is unfortunate that we meet again.” Alyssa says and Merlin chuckled locking eyes with her. Erik is sitting across from Merlin on her left and Theodore is n
